Deep Cove

Our vacation was generally good with a few inconvenient events: the arrival to the island was hectic. From the arrival terminal you have to check in to the hotel kiosk, then the seaplane operator, then take a not-very-comfortable bus, then a noisy and smelly seaplane, then a speed boat, and finally arrive to the island 2 hours after your arrival to Male. The resort itself is nice, small, staff are friendly, service is a bet slow in the morning but the rest of the day is fine. The room was ok and clean. No verity of coffee, the cold milk glass cost US10.. but you will get used to being over-charged in Maldives. One last thing: the seaplane trip back to Male made a one-stop in a other island without prior notification. Enjoy inhaling that smoke of the fuel during landing and departing !

The level of service provided by this resort is unmatched. From the second we met our welcome ambassadors at the airport kiosk, we were very well taken care of. We took the W shuttle (a/c and wi-fi onboard) to the lounge, which had food, drinks, and TVs. Here, we filled out our guest registration and selected Elite status benefits (free breakfast is the way to go). We also had our picture taken, which was later delivered to our room in a paper W picture frame. Once the seaplane was ready, we had an uneventful ride to the resort. Upon arrival, the heads of each department were waiting to greet us with cold towels, champagne, and refreshments. We then got a private tour of the entire island via golf cart with Anis. Anis was extremely helpful and friendly throughout our entire stay. He dropped us off at our room and our bags were delivered shortly after. Snorkeling the house reef is a must. Around SIP and AWAY are the best places to see turtles, sharks, rays, and all kinds of fish. We also went snorkeling off our villa patio several times. The AWAY spa is worth every penny. Nancy is extremely friendly and hospitable. Definitely try the ginger tea with honey. The breakfast spread is pretty extensive - western breakfast, asian dishes, fruit, yogurt, unimaginable number of pastries - and champagne and vodka are included. Suresh, the executive sous chef (great guy), recommended the coconut french toast with banana compote...absolute game changer. The pool never got super crowded and was a cool place to get a drink and mingle with other guests. Mani and Mahey made sure I always had a drink in hand. The gym isn't anything special - good enough to get a decent workout in. Several times throughout our stay, we received complementary cocktails delivered to our room. Upon arrival, we had champagne and chocolate awaiting us in our room. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. We had great conversations with many of them. They will go out of their way to accommodate any request. The WhatsApp chat was very helpful to communicate with the staff for room service, pickups, making reservations, etc. When it was time to leave, a W team member stayed with us at the airport through security, until our bags were checked, and we received our boarding passes. She also recommended places to eat in the airport. A very special thank you to Hasan, Mani, Anis, Mahey, and Dipu for making us feel at home.

My wife and I are thoroughly enjoying our time at W Maldives. From the seamless check-in at Male airport to a hassle-free check-out, everything has been exceptional. The cuisine at Kitchen, Fish, and Fire was truly amazing, and the staff members were remarkably helpful and friendly. Their professionalism and evident enthusiasm for their work were outstanding. I'd like to extend a special commendation to the fitness manager, Mark. He is not only very friendly but also consistently went out of his way to ensure our trip was as enjoyable as possible. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable, whether it's about fitness, details about the hotel, or his hometown in the Philippines. We can't wait to return next year to experience this wonderful place once again.

The Island was Fabulous, Spectacular, Wonderful, Wow put all together. It will be forever remembered and would love to visit again and add more unforgettable memories. Alexander - Director of Operations, does a tremendous job in operating the retreat island to rewind and refresh for life. The activities were superb don’t miss sunrise & sunset yoga, and a kickboxing class with the one and only coach Marquee! Food was mouthwatering - each of W Maldives restaurants deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Away Spa tampered like I never experienced before.

Our 10-night stay at W Maldives was extraordinary. Their house reef offered an exceptional snorkeling experience - daily encounters with turtles, sharks, and rays and flourishing, healthy coral were absolutely amazing! For certified divers, the well-equipped and professional dive center, coupled with world-class dive sites nearby, ensured great scuba dives in all conditions. Our beautiful overwater villa was ideal for sunset photos and also offered tranquility. Keep in mind that some villas closer to the beach can be a bit noisy due to their proximity to the pool bar ( DJ on site). We moved rooms at some point and stayed in a quieter villa farther from the island. The resort's maintenance team was attentive and promptly addressed our minor concerns. While signs of aging are visible in this property, we were told that an upcoming renovation is scheduled for 2024. The resort nevertheless is beautifully designed and well-equipped, meeting all of the guests' needs. Dining options were delightfully diverse, even for a longer 10-night stay, ranging from buffets to smaller bites. Securing reservations in the restaurants in advance is advisable. The breakfast experience at W Maldives was remarkable, boasting the broadest selection we've ever encountered throughout our global trips. The buffet caters to every dietary need, presenting dozens of cold and hot options. Yet, what truly sets W Maldives apart is the attentiveness of the staff! Special mentions to Hassan, who personalized our breakfast experience daily; Ibrahim, our meticulous housekeeper; Audi, who took care of us while dining at the Fish restaurant; and the dive center team led by Ben. The resort's management team and other dedicated associates each contributed uniquely to our unforgettable stay. The spa treatment is highly recommended, set against a backdrop of exceptional surroundings and featuring a world-class facility that would stand its ground in any 5-star hotel globally. Without a doubt, we would consider booking W again (for the third time..) if we were to return to the Maldives.
