Online check-in is not available if the first flight in your itinerary is not an Emirates flight. This applies to all codeshare flights that are not operated by Emirates. Online check-in is available for up to nine passengers travelling in the same group.

You can check in online via the official Emirates website or on the Emirates app from 48 hours before your flight and up to 90 minutes prior to your scheduled time of departure.

To check in online, head over to the Emirates website. Click ‘Manage’ on the homepage and select the ‘Check in online’ option. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2. Please have the passport details of all the passengers you are checking in ready and follow the online steps to complete the check-in process. This will include completing Advance Passenger Information (API) for each traveller if this is required by the destination you are flying to. Also, during the online check-in process, you can select your seats*, choose from dietary meals if applicable, or take advantage of any last-minute upgrade options*. After this, you can download your boarding pass to your phone or save it in the Emirates app, or mobile wallet app.

Your mobile boarding pass can then be presented at the airport. If you have checked in online, you will still need to attend the check-in desks at the airport to drop any checked-in luggage and to complete your travel requirements. At most airports you are required to arrive 3 hours prior to your departure time.

You can select your seats once your flights have been paid in full and they have been issued (ticketed).** This can only be done without charge 48 hours before your flight.

You can select your seats via the official Emirates website or the Emirates app to ensure you and your family or friends can sit together during the flight. To do this on the Emirates website, click ‘Manage’ on the homepage, then ‘Manage your booking’. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2. You can also select your seats during the online check-in process.

Additional charges may apply for selecting your seats based on the flight fare booked, the booking class and the type of seat you are selecting. You can change your seats via ‘Manage your booking’ on the airline website, subject to availability and price, at any time up until you complete your online or airport check-in.

Please note that in certain circumstances, or for operational reasons, the airline may need to change your seat prior to your departure or while you are on board.

If you require mobility assistance through the airport and around the aircraft or wish to take your wheelchair or mobility aids with you on your flight, Emirates can help. Assistance can also be provided for passengers who are hearing or visually impaired or have other medical conditions or disabilities. Passengers with additional medical requirements may be required to fill out a medical form.

You can either let the airline know about your requirements straight after you’ve booked or up to 48 hours before your flight.

To contact Emirates to discuss and arrange special assistance please head to the airline's ‘contact us’ page: https://www.emirates.com/uk/english/help/offices/ When contacting the airline, you will need to quote the lead passenger name and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2. You may be asked for additional information, such as departure date, UK and destination airport and number of passengers, so please have all of your travel details ready when contacting the airline.

Middle names are not required for travel, and therefore do not need to be on your booking. You can, however, add middle name(s) to the secure flight information (API) when completing your online check-in before departure. First and last names must match the identification documents being used for travel.

Additionally, if you have a hyphen or apostrophe in your name, in your booking and e-ticket the names will appear joined together as the airline reservation systems can't show the hyphen/apostrophe. The same happens with double-barrelled names or spaces between two names. Airport security and passport control staff are familiar with this and there is no need to worry about it.

If you entered multiple first names, or multiple family names for a passenger, it is entirely normal for the names on the ticket to be joined together, even if you had entered them separately when booking online. For example, if you entered Mr John Adam Smith when booking online, your ticket will show the name as SMITH/JOHNADAMMR. This is standard airline industry practice, and you will not experience any issues.

If your Business Class booking is eligible for the complimentary lounge access or chauffeur service, you can pre book this on the Emirates website via the Manage your booking link, but only once your flights have been issued (ticketed). Your flight tickets will be issued (ticketed) once they have been paid in full and in line with the ticketing deadline set out by Emirates. If you wish for your flight tickets to be issued (ticketed) earlier, so you can pre-book your lounge access/chauffeur service, please arrange the payment of your outstanding balance through the Destination2 website via the Manage bookings link. After the full payment has been made, please email customerservices@destination2.co.uk to request for your flight tickets to be issued early. Please state that you understand and accept that once issued, your flight tickets become non-refundable.
