9.5/10 resort!! came here for a bachelorette and had 0 major complaints. the resort is beautiful, we had a standard room and I loved the archway and bathroom so much. The food was delicious, Italian restaurant was the best mmmm, and the vanilla iced latte from the onsite coffee bar. The staff were so incredible. Shoutout to the dynamic duo David and Katya who kept the vibes high with their poolside entertainment and bracelet making skills!! also shoutout to white chocolate Mauricio at the pizza bar for being so nice and fun!! 🔥 I can’t remember the names of all the staff that waited on us poolside/at the poolside bar but they were all amazing and attentive, always refilling our drinks and doing it so quickly :) Also highly recommend the foam party in the pool on saturday, that might’ve been the highlight of our weekend here, good music and lots of fun🔥
The only “subpar” things of note were that the resort bar closes at 11pm and there is no onsite discotheque, so if you’re younger and/or plan on going out, you need to power drink before 11pm. Also, the beach is very rocky and you can’t swim directly in front of the resort, you need to walk past the north beach and go to the beach on the other side.
Overall, I highly recommend coming here, I miss it so much already!!

I stayed at Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen for a birthday celebration and, unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The room was not ocean view as expected, and even though we mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and ordered a cake, there was no effort made to acknowledge the occasion.
The staff was generally nice but not accommodating, including the hotel manager. We were charged a $325 fee, and although he was polite, he made multiple excuses rather than resolving the issue. It didn’t feel like good business practice.
We asked about the smoking policy at check-in to make sure we followed the rules, yet it was frustrating to see other guests smoking freely on their balconies without being addressed or charged. Despite bringing this up several times, nothing was done, which made the experience feel unfair and uncomfortable.
On top of that, the room itself had maintenance issues — several outlets didn’t work, and the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 73 degrees. For an all-inclusive resort, these are basic things that should be functioning properly.
Overall, I will not return to this resort. The management needs serious improvement in how they handle guests and uphold consistent standards. Until that happens, I would not recommend staying here.

A Real Honest Review.
The Wyndham Alltra Playa Del Carmen is perfectly located for someone wanting to buy some souvenirs, experience some night life, or for someone planning to do a fishing charter.
The Resort:
- Staff is friendly
- Food is average overall.
- Location is excellent.
- Clean & spacious rooms.
- Stocked mini fridge, which gets restocked every day.
The Staff:
The staff was great, with the exception of the front desk staff & some of the bartenders.
The Bell Boys at the resort were amazing and more informative & helpful than any of the front desk staff.
"Gabriel" was amazing, helping us with whatever we needed or enquired about. Gabriel provided us with answers about the resort, as well as outside the resort & his English was amazing.
The front entrance security guard "Franco" was very pleasant & welcoming.
Franco provides a sense of hospitality & has a calming/ safe presence about him.
The best bartender in my opinion was Sebastian, who works at the upper pool.
He makes great drinks, which are not watered down like a lot of all inclusive resorts I've been to.
Our room cleaner was "Valentina" who did an amazing job of keeping our room clean. One of the best cleaners I've had in a very long time.
Cons:
The pools close very early, especially for being an adults only all inclusive resort.
The upper pool closes at 6:00pm, while the main pool closes at 8:30pm.
Most resorts I've been to in Mexico close at around 10:00pm - 10:30pm.
The front desk staff was horrible.
When we arrived at the resort, the person didn't properly greet us like what I'm typically used to from other resorts I've stayed at in Mexico.
The person who checked us in didn't provide us with a resort map, or explain where the a la carte restaurants were, or didn't explain what amenities are offered at the resort, or what entertainment was included to guests during our stay.
We arrived on a Sunday night & it wasn't until Wednesday afternoon that the Bell Boy "Gabriel" showed us where the amenities/ entertainment board was located in the resort.
To top off our check-in experience, two days before we left the resort we mentioned to the front desk that we'd like our shuttle to the airport to show up at around 2:00pm.
The person working the front desk said they don't arrange that for guests because they don't have anything to do with the airport. The person told us that we would need to arrange that ourselves & contact the airline directly, or contact our travel agent to arrange transportation back to the airport.
"This was the first time I have ever been told this at any resort I've ever been to".
Obviously I was upset about this because we paid for an all inclusive holiday, with transportion included. We're in a foreign country & now being told by the front desk to arrange our own way back to the airport.
We mentioned this to Gabriel in passing & he was able to help us yet again. Gabriel asked to see our booking information for our return trip home. He made a couple of phone calls & arranged our included transportation back to the airport.
Bottom Line:
The hotel is perfectly located in Playa Del Carmen & the staff are amazing, except for the front desk staff & some of the bartenders as previously mentioned.
I would consider coming back, especially because of the excellent location of the hotel & the wonderful staff like "Gabriel, Franco, Sebastian & Valentina" who really take pride in their work & make guests feel welcomed like your a family member.

We went as a group of 9 cousins and had such a great time! When we first arrived on a Sunday evening it felt a little quiet and lacking atmosphere, but as the days went on the vibe improved so much. The facilities were exactly what we needed, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The location of the resort is perfect, especially if you’re planning a night out on the strip. The only small downside is that the beach isn’t the best, but the pool area is stunning, so we honestly didn’t miss it too much.
A special shout-out to the Entertainment Team, especially Katia – she was amazing and really made us feel at home. The activities were so much fun, with the foam party being an absolute highlight.
We had an unforgettable trip and would definitely recommend this resort to friends and family. Can’t wait to return!

The hotel was clean and the staff was very kind. They got to know our names and always said hello. The food was eh. Better than I expected but over all eh. However - the entertainment team DAVID & KATIA, were incredible. We traveled during the off season (October) and the resort was definitely “quieter” but they kept the good times rolling! Volleyball, special games, bracelets and so much more. Would literally - and might - come back to this resort just for them and their good vibes! They made our girls trip one to remember! Lizeth was very helpful and Erik and his photo team also do a great job!

The property exceeded my expectations from start to finish! The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegance and relaxation. The buffet offered a wide selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also had the chance to try the Italian restaurant, which was pretty good as well.Restaurant availability is rotated daily which was my only con.
The location is convenient for excursions off the resort but still feels private and peaceful once you return. The beach was the highlight of my stay.There's plenty of shaded seating, attentive service, and a beach bar that serves lunch so you can enjoy a full day by the ocean.Diego is great at remembering your favorite drinks,preference etc.
Service throughout the stay was excellent!. The staff was professional, welcoming, and always ready to assist. I received a room upgrade, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. It was exactly the kind of stay I was hoping for.

We were taken to the wrong room at first and it wasn’t ready, looked like they were maybe renovating it, mattress thrown etc so we had to be moved to a different room away from our group. Not really any beach to enjoy.
The hotel itself was nice and the buffet was probably one of the best we have had so far. Good entertainment at the pool and lots to do in the evening. For the price we paid, expected better and more kind of luxury as we have travelled to cheaper resorts that seemed much nicer.

I stayed at this hotel last week. The most wonderful hotel I ever stayed at. 1st, the bellman Javier was great with luggage and very nice. He was so funny. The lobby smelled like flowers. The pools were pristine. Crystal clear at all times. The entertainment was the best. Christopher was exceptional. We went over to sister bar 3 times for dinner. Great food mama Mia. The only complaint I had was only 1 restraint and buffet were open for dinner. 1 restaurant was never open. The drinks were very good and kept on coming. I can't wait to go back. This Javier bellman for making my stay worth it.

Our overall experience was excellent! There was only 2 issues during our stay: 1. Some much mosquitoes, I got bitten at least 20times, even inside the restaurants.. the hotel should have better pest control. 2. No hot water whenever I want to shower, I understand there are rush hours like when everyone is back from the pool and needed a shower, but there are days I woke in the morning wanting to get shower at 7-8am and there's no hot water! Other than that everything was perfect! The food was amazing! Many drink options, some reviews says it's water down but I think it's just perfect for me. The staffs was friendly, room was clean.

Not sure why this resort only has a 4.2 on google, it was beyond my expectations. Massive rooms, amazing service, fun pool bars but also quieter areas to enjoy in the pool, room service is 24/7, daily house keeping etc. The buffet was the best I’ve ever had in Mexico. Every single meal was delicious. We didn’t care for the other restaurants because the buffet was that good.
A few cons within control of the resort is the rooms AC cannot be set below 22C, this left our room feeling a bit muggy
The shower water temperature doesn’t get very hot but it was fine. Overall, it’s an incredibly beautiful resort and very much so felt like a 5 star vacation.

We just had a fabulous dinner at The Privilege Restaurant at Ocean Maya Royale. The food was wonderful and the service by Marliet and Jorge was exceptional. We highly recommend Ocean Maya Royale. We are enjoying our fourth one week stay in two years here and love everything about this all-inclusive resort. The size is very manageable for walking everywhere in the resort. The restaurants provide a variety of wonderful well-prepared cuisine. The service is absolutely amazing. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and very clean. Each time we come back we see so many of the same staff members and feel like we've come back to visit family!

First of all, I’d like to say that this was my first visit to Mexico, and I spent quite a lot of time choosing the right destination and, of course, the right hotel.
After going through many options, I showed my girlfriend three main candidates, and we both agreed that Ocean Maya Royale seemed like the perfect choice for us.
The first thing that caught our attention was the many glowing reviews about the resort and its staff. Then I looked through the photos and confirmed that the hotel is located right on the beach — I really dislike having to walk far to get to the sea. We also loved the overall atmosphere of the rooms, pools, lobby, and restaurants.
On top of that, this is an adults-only resort, and we were really looking forward to some peace and quiet away from kids and noise.
So, here’s our experience step by step:
1. The Beach
Within walking distance in both directions, our area of the beach was definitely the most interesting. We had loungers, palm trees, and great photo spots, unlike many neighboring resorts. On the day we arrived, there was a heavy rainstorm and a lot of seaweed washed up on the shore, which smelled unpleasant at first — but it was quickly cleaned up after the storm, and for the rest of our stay the beach was spotless and regularly maintained.
2. Service
I honestly have nothing negative to say — only excellent service and quick, helpful responses to all our questions.
3. Food
There are four restaurants on the property: Japanese (the only one that requires a reservation), Italian, Mexican, and French.
We had dinner at all of them and were very satisfied. The French and Italian restaurants especially surprised us with both their presentation and the taste of the dishes. My girlfriend lived in Italy for 10 years — trust me, she can easily tell a good Italian dish from a bad one! 😊
Breakfasts and lunches also offered a wide variety of tasty options.
4. The Room
Our room was spacious and always clean. Housekeeping was done daily and very thoroughly. We also had coffee and cold drinks available — soda, beer, and water.
During our stay, we celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday, and the staff helped make that day truly unforgettable. You know, it means a lot to me that at the end of our trip she said:
“That was exactly what I needed. I loved everything!”
And as everyone knows:
Happy wife — happy life! 😊
That means only one thing — we made the right choice.
I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire resort staff, and I truly hope this won’t be our last visit.

We've had the best time at the resort this week. And we've made a lot of new Friends! But there is some.amazing staff members here as well and I'd like to shout out one Kenddell Sansores has made this week very special. Keeping people entertained and is full of energy. Such an amazing person, if you see him have a conversation with him, you won't regret it! We also had so much fun with Suzie! They make this place worth it, I don't think we would even have fun if they were not there! Do not get rid of them!

Our stay at Ocean Maya Royale in Playa del Carmen was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The resort itself is stunning — beautifully maintained grounds, modern and spotless rooms, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind the moment you arrive.
The food was excellent across every restaurant — fresh, flavorful, and with great variety each night. The evening shows were amazing as well, full of energy and talent that kept us entertained throughout our stay.
But what truly made this trip unforgettable was Kenddell Sansores. His warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for every guest set the tone for the entire resort. He goes above and beyond to make everyone feel special — he is truly the foundation of Ocean Maya Royale.

We just had a fantastic 6 day stay, I would highly recommend Ocean Maya Royale! Our room was spacious and clean. Everyone there was super friendly and worked hard to ensure our stay was a great experience. The food was wonderful, especially the Italian and Japanese restaurants where wonderful Ristorero the sommelier helped us with wine selections at both places. The pool scene was also fabulous with one pool more of a party scene and the other a peaceful atmosphere where the wonderful Adrian kept us supplied with drinks all day. The dancers at the nightly shows were also excellent and there was live music every night. There was no reason to leave although we did get out to see the fantastic Ek Balaam, swim in Cenote X’Canche and of course visit Chichen Itza which is quite an incredible experience. Thanks so much to the awesome staff for such a wonderful get away!!

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The resort is right on the beach with stunning views and easy access to the water. There were several beautiful pools to choose from — each with its own vibe, from quiet and relaxing to fun and lively. The restaurants offered a great variety of food, and every meal we had was delicious.
What really stood out was the service — every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay special. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and stress-free.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive getaway where you can truly unwind and be pampered, this is the place to go. We can’t wait to come back!

We LOVED our stay at Hyatt Vivid PDC! Came for a girls trip with my mom (and to scout out as a wedding venue) and it was gorgeous. The resort is in a prime location, steps away from 5th Avenue PDC. The beach is tiny due to erosion, but youre also steps away from the Cozumel ferry. The food was outstanding too, we heard from some folks around the pool the food was not as good as it used to be, but honestly we had no idea what they were talking about. Dolma was our favorite and Rudy and Valentin took incredible care of us. The Spa was perfect, Milly and Esther did a phenomenal job and the hydrotherapy was so relaxing. Tons of activities by the pool as well, Zander and the whole entertainment team are awesome and want folks to have a great party time. Friday Caribbean Party was a blast, Charlie the DJ knows what he is doing!!
A highlight as well is they are always wanting to make sure your stay is enjoyable - I mentioned in an offhand comment to staff that my mattress had a large divet in it (which was really the only complaint). I had a new mattress the next day!

Just got back from Hyatt Vivid in Playa del Carmen. Check in with Yadina was great! She gave us a free upgrade to ocean view room. The room was amazing! Huge room and balcony! The service was outstanding! We were treated so special! Whatever we asked for they would go out of their way to make it happen! We wanted steak without the extra charge and they brought a huge platter of ribeye, filets and sirloin!

I absolutely adored this Hacienda style resort. It felt luxurious and intimate. Marcial at the front desk was wonderful. Jorge and Salome were our favorite servers and Laura our favorite hostess. The Capri restaurant was our favorite the food was great and it didn’t get boring to repeat it.
The pool area was great there was always seating and the beach was clean the water was beautiful and calm and the wait staff was wonderful to keep the drinks coming.
Only downside was our experience with the vacation club personnel. They told us whatever they had to to convince us and then on the day of the Lunch they didn’t honor what they had offered. We declined to go after a lot of back and forth with them. It was very frustrating for the time they made us waste. So be aware of them.
I will be back to this hotel.

(Small, but Mighty) Small, intimate and amazing customer service. The only reason this place didn't get five stars is because unfortunately this place is a bit outdated. But it made up for it for it's small size. Small, but mighty.
The resort was able to be intimate because it has such a smaller size than other Cancun / Riveria Maya resorts. Less rooms means less people and less crowds. I never waited for a dinner reservation or a lunch spot to eat.
I'm saying this, because I visited in October (due to the season), there were only about two or three options for dinner every night.
Although true, the food was really good. You have the international buffet, the Asian restaurant or the Italian restaurant for dinner.
While I was there (was not a problem at all), but did seem as if they were making upgrades to the resort, which is exciting.
Overall, the resort offered nightly entertainment, the location was not far from Riceria Maya excursions like Xacret (like 30 minutes or so), food was good and the staff were extra attentive. Thank you to Hyatt Zilara!!!

I think this is the best hotel in which I've ever stayed. The hotel was beautiful, had a great pool, was on the beach, and had everything I needed. Our room had a swim up pool (amazing!) and everything was clean. The food was good and the drinks were even better. The bartenders Alexander and Alejandra made us feel like family and helped with any drinks we wanted to try. I felt like a millionaire because of how well they treated everyone in my group. I would absolutely stay here again and I'd recommend it to everyone.

This resort is a perfect resort if you are looking for ultimate relaxation, fantastic food and great entertainment. The resort staff was great from the check in all the way to the checkout process. The resort shows it has 4 resturants but the Asian resturant had 3 resturants within ( al a carte, sushi bar, tepanayki). Lola beach resturant had a great variety of taco and Mexican cushine, while the resort also had a great Italian resturant and buffet as well. The resort is very small and wasn't too busy when we stayed and it was great because there was always a spot in the pool and beach area without having to wake up so early to reserve a chair. Also, because the resort is smaller it was great to only have to walk such short distances to all the resturants and amenities of the resort. I definitely would recommend this resort to couples looking for a relaxing holiday without any kids.

10/10 – Best Holiday We’ve Ever Had
From start to finish, this resort was pure luxury. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, with huge, comfortable beds and a bathroom featuring double basins and a large walk-in shower. If you can, book a sea view room the views are breathtaking and absolutely worth it.
The staff were outstanding, always friendly and ready to help with anything. Service was consistently excellent, which made the whole stay feel effortless.
Food was another highlight. There was an endless variety at every meal, and each restaurant offered something different. The Italian restaurant was our personal favourite, and the daytime BBQs were unforgettable.
Entertainment was well thought out—plenty happening during the day to keep you engaged, but never overwhelming.
Quite honestly, we couldn’t find a single fault. Everything exceeded expectations, and it’s without question the best holiday we’ve ever had. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable escape.

Casa de Rosa Dinner Experience
From start to finish, everything about our visit was amazing. Fatima and Lea were the most wonderful hosts. They were warm, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. The liquor tasting was such a unique touch, and learning about the local flavors made the experience even richer.
Cooking dinner together was a highlight as the ingredients were fresh, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, and the food turned out absolutely delicious. Sitting down afterward to enjoy the meal we had just prepared felt so special.
If you’re looking for an authentic, hands-on experience with incredible food and even better company, Casa de Rose is a must. Highly recommend!

Casa de Rosa is an wonderful experience I'd highly recommend. We had a group of 16 and everyone shared how much they enjoyed the evening. A night filled with education and tastings of tequilas and mezcals, fun games to get everyone laughing and interacting, and the cooking lessons for authentic Mexican dishes. The abundance of food was unbelievable! And absolutely delicious! And Rosa was a delight! She was humorous, thoughtful, kept everyone engaged, making sure we were having fun, laughing and bellies full.

Second time at this resort, we had a group of 10 and had a great time. Daniela and Monse from the activities team were super friendly and engaging, great job! Bernardo did an amazing job at Thai/sushi dinner to make a birthday celebration extra special, and Martin always served us with a smile at many different restaurants. . The staff all around were always friendly, you couldn't pass anyone without a friendly greeting. The resort is kept clean, and is beautiful for walking around. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at The Fives Hotel and Residences! The property is absolutely beautiful — lush greenery, plenty of wildlife, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind.
We were there celebrating my cousin’s 50th birthday, and the staff made it truly special. We had a private dinner on the beach with David, and it was absolutely exquisite — the setting, food, and service were all perfect.
The food was delicious throughout the resort, and the service was outstanding. Special shoutout to Francisco on the beach, who was amazing and so attentive, as well as Miguel and Hermenegildo, who were excellent servers. Antonio in hospitality went above and beyond to make sure everything was smooth and that we had everything we needed — incredibly helpful and accommodating!
We stayed in a penthouse suite, which was incredible — a full kitchen, a jacuzzi, and plenty of space. The entertainment and activities were fun and kept things lively throughout our stay.
The only downsides were the long wait times at restaurants (it’s first come, first serve, so get there early) and the limited smoking areas, which were too few and too small.
Overall, this is a beautiful resort with great food, fantastic service, and unforgettable experiences. We had an amazing time celebrating, and I’d definitely stay here again!

There should be regulations on what they consider a 5 star Hotel/resort. I never go out of my way to complain, I'm normally about positive reviews but I have never been so disappointed by a hotel or the lack of service by management. I wanted to treat myself to a 3 day all-inclusive resort after visiting a friend in the Yucatán. I worked hard to be able to save for that. I chose this resort because I wanted a higher level of service compared to a 3 or 4 star. 1st night I get there, my hot tub isn't working. They finally fix it the next day. I get in and there was scum coming out of the jets, which is a big sanitation issue. My room had a burnt light and missing plugs. There was even what seemed like a booger by the edge of the hot tub. It was also dusty my the bed side tables which triggered my allergies.Management didn't seem to be bothered by any of it. It's a 5 star resort per their rating, so the level of cleanliness should match. The rooms are outdated, the food is bland and repetitive. Half the resort was closed. They offered me a cheap bottle of sparkling wine (which they called champagne) but everything is already included or a 15 minute foot massage. I should of been moved to a different room the 1st night. They also didn't clean any of the sargassum on the beach. The only thing I can't fault is the servers and bartenders, they were all very friendly and efficient and a big shout out to them. The management is by far the worse and they need training on how to handle situations like these promptly. They even refused to help me book a transport back to the hotel because I didn't use their website (my credit card wasn't allowing me without a verification text which I couldn't receive). If anyone would like to see videos, I also have a few.

We were looking for a place to rest, enjoy, eat and forget all the life stress. This place is perfect.
Delicious food, there’re multiple restaurants with different thematics, you can find your favourite one. Also, we were able to enjoy the pool, basically because there weren’t many people.
Only one problem - TV is a dinosaur. I consider it should be a good option change it to make the room perfect.
People are complaining about animals in the hotel, but come on! Is a natural place where you can live together with the nature. Just make sure to not leave any kind of food in your bags 🤓.

This resort is one of the best I ve ever been to, very clean, beautiful scenery, lovely staff that go above and beyond to make sure you are enjoying your time in there. Fantastic foods and restaurants ( I highly recommend the Steak house and La Fleur, the French restaurant). The staff are very friendly and easy to communicate with. You Always get the best treatment. My boyfriend and I spent there 7 days ( Oct 7th to 14th) and the resort was full of lovely animals like 🦌 deers, iguanas,and lovely birds 🐦 🐦⬛ but unfortunately full of a kind of racoon named COATI in Spanish which came to my room one day and scared me to death 🤣🤣🤣. Even though you re on the 3rd floor, lock the door. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Just spent a week at this hotel, and I must say it’s beautiful!
The evening staff at the buffet were lovely, I sat in the same section every night because my waitress was an absolute joy to be around. The place was clean with lots of wildlife around which I thought was great. There was a taxi driver that was assigned to us by the hotel who was pretty rude though but I don’t think that’s the hotels fault.
The only issue I really had was the beach left a little to be desired, it was often covered in seaweed and the water was so murky so I definetly wouldn’t choose this resort for the beach.
The shops are great and buffets were always great. A gentlemen named Rodolfo set us up for a couple of dinners in the resteraunt which was incredible and the wait staff were really great.
The pools are nice and kept warm but still refreshing temperature wise. There’s signs on the patio doors that say keep locked which I strongly advise because we walked in to a raccoon in our room trying to steal the coffee. (it was harmless and we thought it was funny but the mess of the coffee wasn’t fun to clean, and it dumped my purse and stole 2 packs of gum lol)
The shows every night were nice to go to after dinner, the fire and drums was my favorite- they were all incredibly talented and put on a great show.
There’s a handful of cats that live on the resort, and it made me really happy to see that the workers put food and water out for them and took care of them because some places I’ve been don’t do that and treat them as a nuisance.
Overall we had a really great stay and I can definetly say I recommend it!

A very clean and comfortable resort. Well worth the stay! Friendly staff and lots to see and do. The pools are top notch. We especially enjoyed the swim up bars, where we met a lot of great people from all over the world.
I want to give a shout out to Alex Maldonado (Concierge) and Sweet Margarita (Photo lab) for all their advice and helpfulness.
Food options are abundant and the food is actually quite good. We especially enjoyed the buffet.
All in all, there's something for everyone at the resort. Whether you want a restful experience or nightlife... the Grand Riviera Princess has it all.

I am currently staying at Paradisus, and while the resort itself is absolutely beautiful, my experience with the Kids Club has been very disappointing.
I was informed to bring my 8-year-old daughter 10–15 minutes before check-in time if the children would be leaving for another activity or location on the resort. We arrived early, around 5:50 PM (check-in was at 6:00 PM), but I was told that she could not enter because they were only accepting children participating in the show. Her cousins, who were right in front of us, were allowed in, but my daughter was turned away.
She was heartbroken and spent the evening in our room crying, not understanding why she couldn’t return to a place she had enjoyed earlier that day. She had been there all day and only needed to leave because the staff were taking their scheduled break from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. When I asked when she could return, I was told 9:30 PM — which is causing me to miss my 9:00 PM dinner reservation.
There also appears to be inconsistency in the check-in process. When I registered my daughter, I was not asked to present her passport, yet another family member was told her child could not attend without showing one.
Additionally, the Kids Club is only available for children up to age 10, leaving limited activities for older kids, which can be challenging for families traveling with children of different ages.
Overall, while the resort grounds, rooms, and amenities are stunning, the lack of organization and consistency within the Kids Club was disappointing. For a family-friendly resort, I expected a smoother and more accommodating experience for children. Unfortunately, based on this, I would hesitate to return or recommend Paradisus to other families.

Beautiful resort — absolutely massive (you can easily get lost exploring)! The food overall was about 3/5, but room service was excellent (5/5) and housekeeping came daily, which we really appreciated. Communication with staff could be a bit tricky at times since we don’t speak Spanish. Several of the directional signs around the resort weren’t very clear, which made it hard to find certain places — locating Bio was especially tricky, and we had to ask multiple staff members for directions.
After it rained, a large puddle of water would collect outside our room and wasn’t cleaned up for quite a while — I almost slipped there a few times, so that’s something to watch out for.
The shuttle buses between the hotel and parks were super convenient — they run every 20 minutes and make getting around effortless.
Our favorite restaurants were Teatro, Costeru, Bio, Xin Gao, and Tama-mon — all had great food and service. We also tried Mercado, Trajnera, La Xentral, and La Cantina. We didn’t enjoy the buffets as much (like Mercado) because most dishes weren’t clearly labeled as vegetarian, which made it harder to choose. Also, while the staff asked about our dietary restrictions at every restaurant, the buffet staff didn’t offer much guidance on which dishes to avoid. They simply noted our restrictions but didn’t assist further, which made dining a bit confusing.
Tip: Email the resort before your trip to request a wishlist. It’s really helpful for reserving certain parks and restaurants in advance, as some of them require bookings.

Stay away. Not worth the money nor the hype. With the money we spent, we would have gotten way better service at a different hotel.
We booked 3 rooms for a week. First, our requests for adjacent rooms for minor children were not met despite email confirmations prior to the trip. Once we got to the hotel, they gave us the option of paying extra to ensure adjacent rooms or wait for the rooms to be assigned at check-in time, and see if they can accommodate us. Of course, no accommodation. Second, at Cuevas, as soon as we declined to pay more for the surf and turf, the service from our waiter was nonexistent. We received more attention from the meat server than our actual waiter. Third, horrible room service. We had to repeatedly request for water for our rooms.
I highly recommend staying at a different hotel and just pay to go to the water parks on your own. It would be a lot cheaper and less aggravation.

This was such an amazing experience! I have celiac disease and the staff is very knowledgeable and at every restaurant the first thing they ask is about allergies at the table. The waiters brought me special food when I asked for it and at every buffet if the person I spoke to wasn’t sure if it was gluten free they would bring the chef out from the kitchen. Great place for celiacs, great service and food and such an amazing place for families. We will be back!

We rented 2 rooms but when we arrived they were from one end to the other. Concierge stated that we could upgrade for $1800 on top of what we had already paid even though steep we said yes our parent are elderly and need our assistance. After the 3rd day we recived a call from front desk that we had to move rooms due to ac maintenance on the whole building but we spoke to the people next and in front of us they stated that they weren't aware. That took 4 hours out of day. They want to up sale everything. I wouldn't go back even if it was half off. The service was good the park were ok.

My husband and I have been to several resorts in Cancun/Play del Carmen and this one was just meh. I would say very average. The landscape is beautiful and they have bikes on the resort for you to use at your leisure. Service was hit or miss, but they also seemed understaffed. There were a few servers that hustled the entire time, but several were very slow. Rooms were pretty bland. We were very disappointed in the entertainment which is to say there was none...zero. Typically in our experience, there is activities during the day by the pool and at night live music. They had none. They really don't even have a bar to go to at night. The food was also average. The breakfast buffet was chaotic, but had most of the items you would want. The restaurant by the pool had great ceviche and fish tacos for lunch. Dinner was just ok. They did have plenty of chairs by the pool and beach. All in all, I would say for the value, you can find better.

The resort is amazing! It feels just like being in those Corona commercials and Weekend at Bernie's at the same time! Everything is beautiful here. The suites are elaborate, fit for a king, and the views are unbelievable! The white sand beach and blue waters are phenomenal! This was definitely a great and memorable experience to get away. Thank you, Andaz Mayakoba, for the amazing stay!

Awesome setting, we had a little trouble with a loud DJ at the beach by our room but the concierge staff and manager handled it quickly and professionally.
The lagoon tour was free and cool. Saw an American crocodile, tarpon, and all the birds. The cenote on the nature trail is a fun little tour too. Nice calm nature vibe except for that party. Getting from the lagoon area to the beach on the bicycles is calm and simple. Staff was helpful and kind.

Had a very pleasant stay. Our stay was not all inclusive, which I think it’s even better since there are other dining options in Mayakoba and you can easily get to restaurants in other resorts on golf carts or bikes. Mayakoba is a huge gated property that consists of several resorts. The bike lane is well-designed and easy to follow. We saw plenty of coatis on the golf course as we were wandering around on bikes. Plus, the landscape was just so beautifully designed and well maintained.

Horrible service and unsafe for anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions. We got rooftop day passes on 10/24, and I told our waiter that I have celiac (gluten allergy) and that I am sober and cannot have alcohol. He said he understood, but the staff repeatedly ignored both.
The nachos I ordered were missing ingredients, took over 30 minutes, and came smothered in fake yellow nacho cheese instead of the cotija listed on the menu. When I asked, the waiter lied and said it was a “different kind of cotija.”
Then I ordered a Miami Vice sin alcohol, and they brought me one with alcohol. When I pointed it out, the bartender confirmed it contained alcohol. They remade it—and it was a double. I’ve been sober for two years, and this was absolutely unacceptable.
Later, I ordered plain ice cream (no biscuit crumbs because of gluten). It came with crumbs anyway. After sending it back, I’m almost certain they just scooped it from the same contaminated bowl. I ended up getting sick from gluten exposure afterward.
The food overall was mediocre, overpriced, and not what’s advertised. Another guest’s burger was undercooked and another had a Caesar salad and said that it didn’t even taste like Caesar. Between the lies, the cross-contamination, and the complete disregard for sobriety, this was one of the worst and most dangerous dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Place is fantastic. !!! I’m not the person to be trapped in one place and this location has it all! The main strip of playa del Carmen at your door.
The service of the hotel is fantastic . All inclusive for dinner and breakfast and drinks are 10/10.
You can get discounts as well on excursion. And if you ask the front desk they’ll give you a day pass to the 5 resort. Feel the difference. And you’ll see downtown is better.

This hotel had amazing service from the moment we checked in! The rooftop has awesome views and even better service. Arturo knew us by name after day one and made our experience a 10 out of 10! Josedir was so kind and had the best local recommendations. Both Arturo and Josedir were so welcoming—it made you want to keep coming back to the pool! We’re already planning our next stay and haven’t even checked out yet. Highly recommend

The place was awesome! This is our second time here and we are not disappointed. The food and drinks are also great. The pool is very clean and fun. The room service and cleaning/maintenance is a 10/10. I rather stay here than the resorts because you have more access to playa and the amazing offerings in the main street such as the markets, Phramacies, Resturants, and much more! I would definitely come back.

The rooms were cleaned and prepared well for our stay. Some areas of the hotel seem like they could use updating. For our ur first few days, only 1 elevator worked so there was a wait time but not a big deal, we just took the steps but on our last day none of them worked so we had to carry our luggage down the steps. I even asked if we could maybe use the service elevator and I was told no. The communication with staff was not great with me being misinformed several times and I even politely voiced my concerns to the front desk staff. The view from the rooftop is priceless but the flooring could use updates for safety reasons alone. Overall, the property is clean but could use some touch ups. And the staff should be on the same page as far as policies & procedures. The area is noisy but cant complain if you willing choose to stay near 5th Ave. It wasn't a horrible stay by any means but I won't go out of my way to return.
