What a dream! My stay here was magical. Big shout out to Furaha who really looked out for me and went out of her way to make sure my stay was comfortable. Also would like to mention Charles and David who surprised me with a beautiful birthday treat and provided amazing service throughout. The location is perfectly situated by the beach, the rooms were clean and spacious and the food was awesome! Wow. Please don’t hesitate to stay here if you’re planning on visiting the gorgeous island of Zanzibar.

The person who truly makes your experience exceptional here, is Mr Sumit Bhardwaj. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world , but have rarely experienced the prominent presence of the GM in the hotel. No imperfection goes unnoticed by him & he's very quick to ensure that every guest experience is truly a memorable one. If you don't stay at Nungwi/ Kendwa, I urge that you come stay here. Usual island issues ( the disappearance of electricity multiple times a day) but that's beyond the control of the hotel who do have generators in place!

We arrived at the airport and tried contacting the hotel for pickup, but no one answered. Thankfully, some kind local people helped us get in touch. We had a meal at the hotel’s Samaa restaurant, but unfortunately, several dishes were overpowered with lemon juice, and a few items were difficult to eat. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and kind, but they do need more training. Some staff members were not confident using the card machine or even opening a bottle of wine. As Asian travelers, we are happy to pay the price when it reflects the quality, but in this case, the value did not meet our expectations. Based on our experience, this hotel feels more like a 3-star property. The gym and spa are both very small, and the food quality needs significant improvement. One unusual experience was being greeted by staff with “Hello my friend,” which we had never encountered at a hotel before. Additionally, the free water at the pool and beach should be properly checked and cleaned before serving to guests. Overall, this was our first and last stay at this hotel.

Wonderful oasis in the middle of a hot, dusty environment surrounded by the Indian Ocean. Fantastic staff, lovely spa, very clean rooms and beach front access. What more can you ask for? Came here with my 4 adult children and couldn't be happier.

We had an unforgettable experience at LUX Marijani! The rooms were cleaned to an excellent standard, as well as being beautiful and spacious with all the comforts. The property was also meticulously maintained down to the smallest detail and equipped with every comfort. I appreciated the free water dispensers near the beach, as well as the clean towels always available and the brushes to clean the sand from the feet. The overall service was great. All the staff members always greeted us and were always ready to help us with anything. I felt pampered every day. I also really appreciated the birthday surprise both in the room and in the restaurant. They made me feel so special. I also really appreciated all the free activities the hotel offered and the evening entertainment. It was impossible to get bored and it was a good opportunity to make new friends who were staying here. I'm leaving 4 stars because I think the prices of food and drinks were not good value for money. I understand I'm in a high-end hotel but still... For example, I wouldn't pay $26 for a pizza even in London. And the quality certainly didn't match the price shown. But even if the quality had been excellent, for me this still is no justification for such overpriced prices. One thing that makes this problem a real problem is that there are no nearby services around the property and therefore you don't have much choice and you are almost forced to consume here (obviously this is not a hotel problem but for the customers it is). Sure, you can get around by taxi, but they're also overpriced and add an extra daily expense anyway. Walking is dangerous as there are no sidewalks and the traffic is crazy here. Overall I loved my experience at LUX Marijani 🍹🥥

Our stay at Gold Zanzibar was nothing short of spectacular. As soon as we arrived we were immediately greeted and made to feel at home. In celebration of our honeymoon we were upgraded to a beautiful villa with private pool and butler service - very comfortable and clean accommodation. The amenities including pool, spa, beach and bars were all fantastic. We were also amazed by the food, with so many options and the quality was remarkable, all very fresh, the best pasta we’ve had outside of Italy, great local cuisine too. But what stood out the most was the absolutely amazing service. Every single member of hotel staff went above and beyond to greet us at every opportunity, make us feel at home, offer us anything we could wish for and just engage in conversation; they seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us. We are fortunate to stay at nice hotels around the world and the staff and service at Gold stand out as the very best we have ever experienced and by a very long way. We enjoyed complimentary sunset cruise on our final night for which we are very grateful. The occasional complimentary food and drink with bills showing ‘zero’ against each item, also a very generous touch. I would not hesitate to recommend Gold to anyone looking for accommodation in Zanzibar - furthermore, I would even encourage people to stay at Gold simply to see how the very best of hotels can and should be. I could not think of a single thing that could have been better or different. Thank you for an incredible experience.

We stayed at the hotel in September and we had a fabulous stay! The food was delicious and varied and every night there was a theme on dinner time, with a touch of local culture and traditions which was very interesting. The rooms and the hotel area was kept to a high standard of cleanliness and the green areas kept immaculate by the lovely gardeners. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for better customer service. Especially would like to thank Ali Makaba (the manager) who made our stay even more special. We loved our stay at Gold Zanzibar. Jackline was particularly kind and ready to help us with every need. Even getting in touch after we left to make sure we were travelling well. We were given a free upgrade on arrival with a private pool. The food at the buffet was always excellent. The location on the beach was good but there was a inflatable play park in front of the resort which in my opinion took away from the experience of watching the sunset.

Amazing Honeymoon – Felt Like Royalty! Where do I even start? Our 10-night honeymoon at Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa was honestly out of this world. It was our first all-inclusive resort holiday and from the moment we arrived, we were treated like absolute royalty. We were welcomed with a refreshing hibiscus drink and cool towels — such a lovely touch after a long journey from the UK. Our room had the most incredible ocean view — waking up to that every morning was just magical. Ashanti was amazing throughout our stay. She really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and her tips on excursions were spot on. She’s a real gem and such a credit to the team. Every single staff member was so warm and friendly — from the guy running the beach towel hut and activities, to the kitchen crew, and the bartender who made the best cocktails. The evening entertainment was a blast — we loved Italian night and African night, with delicious food and great music. Honestly, we didn’t even want to leave the resort because we were having such a good time. The private beach area was a dream — super clean, secure with 24/7 security, and perfect for relaxing. Plus, it’s right on Kendwa’s stunning coastline, so you can take lovely walks along the beach whenever you fancy. Leaving was the hardest part. We weren’t ready to go back to the UK at all! We’re already planning our return — Zanzibar is such a beautiful place, and Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa is hands down one of the best accommodations and overall holidays we’ve ever had.

We spent six days at Gold Zanzibar and overall had a truly beautiful experience. The food was absolutely wonderful, fresh, varied, and always delicious. The staff are what truly make this place special: from the warm and professional reception team to the attentive and kind Kilimanjaro restaurant staff. We’d like to give a special mention to Marry in the dining area, who greeted us every morning with a smile, poached eggs and a genuine kindness. Also to people from the Gold restaurant, always friendly and helpful, and to the massage therapists, who were simply excepcional, one of the best treatments we’ve ever had. The hotel itself is beautiful, relaxing, and well cared for. Our only issue was the noise at night. The hotel is located next to a bar that plays loud music until late, and unfortunately the rooms are not soundproofed. Several nights we were unable to sleep properly due to the noise. This was the only downside to an otherwise fantastic stay. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests, because everything else the location, the service, the vibe, was just amazing. Thank you to all the team for making our honeymoon so special!
