I booked a bungalow with a private pool and never got to use the pool because it was filthy… all sorts of dead insects. Requested twice for the pool to be cleaned and it was never cleaned.
We were 2 people in my room but for some reason, house keeping only replaced one set of towels, we had to call a few times to request towels.
The hot water in our room wasn’t working properly for the entire 5 nights that we stayed.
The bar man at the hotel pool bar doesn’t use gloves when he is making drinks. I politely requested that he used gloves and he was quite rude in response… The bar was swarmed with flies and bees. Wouldn’t be the case if it was cleaned properly.
The breakfast selection is not the best, the same food items are served every single day with little to no variation.
The waiters at breakfast are also not so efficient as you have to make a simple request twice before you are attended to.
I found it particularly odd that on the morning of our departure, the response to our request for late check out was a demand for the payment for the room charges (mini bar, drinks etc.)… typically, all charges are cleared during check out.
We requested a porter to assist with moving our bags for check out and it took over 20 minutes of us calling repeatedly to get one over.
we visit a new country for my birthday every year and this was the first hotel I’m staying in that made 0 effort to make the stay or the day special. No minimal gesture… not even a card or a simple birthday wish.
A friend of mine informed me that she called the hotel to book a surprise gift and spa session for me but got frustrated because she was getting passed on to different departments for over half an hour. She gave up.
Absolutely would not recommend for luxury travelers. You’d be frustrated. this experience was disappointing and most definitely falls short of 5 stars. More like 3 stars. Will do a more thorough review with videos and pics on my social media.

Staying at Kwanza was a dream come true. It is exactly as advertised, if not better. The most important aspect of our stay was the staff at Kwanza. They were warm and welcoming, making us feel like we had known them in another life. They went out of their way to make our stay memorable, with special thanks to Lucas, Haruna, Ahmed, and the staff in the main dining area.
The pool was well-maintained and provided a great place to relax, although the all-inclusive drinks menu could be improved significantly. However, the staff used their initiative to provide us with non-alcoholic drinks that we enjoyed.
Our room was very spacious, and the swim-up feature added an extra touch of luxury to our experience. While our first room needed a deep clean and the jacuzzi hadn't been cleaned, the staff promptly addressed our concerns and upgraded us to a room that met our standards.
As a five-star resort, there are areas that need improvement, especially given that it has only been open for a year. Nonetheless, our overall experience was fantastic, and we look forward to seeing how Kwanza continues to evolve.

I am so grateful I got to stay here. Words cannot describe how amazing this resort is. I was blown away from the moment i stepped in. Amazing architecture, beautiful decorative work, amazing views. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for the ultimate resort experience. It is a long drive from the airport but sooo worth it. Good wifi but the food can be improved. If you are looking for a quite, luxurious and aesthetically pleasing resort Kwanza is the place to book.

There are amazing facilities and several excursions offered around the hotel, we loved the hotel set-up and amenities offered. However, some staff can be cold and service is slow. We could hear people walking on the first floor above our room, which was quite disturbing.

Pros- rooms are absolutely beautiful! I love the high tie, low tie beach, I met some wonderful people here by the poolside, great for solo travelers such as myself, I liked how the hotel put family and couples on one side and loud singles on the other, safety needs were met, staff was very nice and the grounds were well kept, you can walk to the turtle cave during low tie. Must do! It will worth it only $11 for adults. All the rooms have water either a hot tub, private or beach front. Hookah/ Shisha every night from 6pm- 10pm only $20, overall love the facility. I will come back!
Cons- service is slow it took 3 days to fix my shower head. 1 day to bring fresh towels. 1 day to fix my hot tub. I check out on day 4. Buffet food is a rip off. $45 a day for just assorted breads and chicken. I love fresh fruit and vegetables it’s best to book at the restaurant. Drinks can be pricey ranging from $15- $40 a drink if you don’t get the all inclusive package, you must have a driver. Thankfully I had a great driver to get me around if you don’t it will be pricey to leave the resort… $300 massage package they will sell you is not worth it. They are still training it should be $125- $150. Example they don’t warm the oil before putting it on your body, they stay in the room while you are getting undress, instead of waiting 2-5 mins once you are ready on the table. They don’t dim the lights once you are on your back. Light will be shining in your face. Also they don’t cover the area they are not massaging with a towel so you won’t get cold. Most of the time it feels like you are getting lotion rubbed on. Oh they don’t ask before the massage what area do you need more attention on. Best to get massage off resort. Just use the sauna, pool and gym.
Overall: I’m coming back but will not eat at the buffet or get a massage
