From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and genuine welcome from front office house staff. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff made me feel at home right away. Throughout my stay, their attentiveness and thoughtfulness truly stood out. Whether it was helping with directions, arranging reservations, or simply checking in to see how I was doing, the team consistently went the extra mile.
What impressed me most was how calm and composed they remained despite the holiday rush, especially the Front Office, Guest Relations, Concierge, F&B, Culinary team & Kids Ambassadors. It was clear they were doing everything they could to ensure each guest had a great experience and they succeeded. They handled everything with grace and care, making sure every guest felt looked after. The kids activities that has been organised were fun & awesome for the little one.
My departure was just as pleasant as my arrival, with the same friendly smiles and helpful attitude. It was a seamless end to a memorable stay. I truly appreciate the effort and hospitality from everyone and look forward to returning.

I was impressed with the welcoming vibe upon entrance. Staff were extremely attentive, well presented in uniforms, and welcoming wearing smiles. During our 5 days stay, no request was too hard and our needs were promptly met. I can't quite use enough superlatives to describe the superior service we received. It has been our best experience yet. The rooms were clean, spacey and well presented. The room was regularly serviced and the location is very central. If I could give ten stars, I would.

Been here several time and surely been here once a year. This is our regular place to stay and to enjoy the facilities provided. Also the scenery of beautiful beach. Nice food during breakfast, easy access to the hawker and groceries shop in front of the hotel. Nice and friendly staff Ms Jalita from the cafe which always throw us with sweet smile. Unforgettable experience when we receive the special amenities in conjunction of our 18th anniversary celebration. Credit to the hotel's Senior GSA Ms Jenaga who delightful prepare for this surprise. We had a lovely stay at Shangri-La’s Golden Sands Resort in Batu Ferringhi. The staff were warm and accommodating, promptly providing a travel cot and high chair for our kids upon request.
Our family particularly enjoyed the resort’s facilities, especially the pools and the Splash Zone, which kept the little ones entertained for hours. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, catering to both adults and children. 
While the beach area was accessible, it wasn’t as well-maintained as we had hoped, making it less ideal for play. There’s also a fantastic playground on-site; our child was a bit too young to fully enjoy it this time..
Overall, it’s a great family-friendly resort, and we look forward to returning!

We’d say Golden Sands is definitely a great hotel for families. The room and amenities were really satisfying and made our stay super comfortable. What stood out the most for us was the amazing customer service and concierge team. They were incredibly helpful and kind—especially the manager, who even helped carry our bags to the car and made sure my mom, who uses a wheelchair, was assisted all the way from the lobby. That really touched us.
If there’s one area that could use a bit of improvement, it would be the breakfast. It was pretty standard for a 4-star hotel, and only the pastries and noodle station really stood out for us.

We have been going to the GS for over 30 years. We were a young couple with a 18 month old when we first went and now as a family with a grandparent , parents, Aunty and grown up children including our wonderful daughter in law, we still go to GS. The hotels staff are wonderful, from the very warm welcomes from the team in the lobby, golf buggy drivers and receptionist team to the great housekeeping team and pool attendants. There is the genuine true Malaysian hospitality throughout the resort that makes all ages welcome.
There is something for everyone here and I can’t wait to take any grandchildren that we may be blessed with one day.
The food is lovely, so much choice and really fresh. Good selection of both local and international choices for breakfast.
Special thanks to Simon the Chef who prepared my delicious noodles each day for breakfast. I wish you much success in your training Simon as part of the Shangri- La group, you will be amazing.
I would also like to mention how beautiful the pool area and grounds are, it’s a true pleasure to sunbathe all day and play pool volleyball. Great way to meet lots of great people from around the globe ( who also return year after year ) and the referee is a real good sport.
We had the pleasure to meet some of the team from the cool lounge Diniy ( AFOM) Shaweine ( GROM) Felicia, Ayre and Aimon. ( apologies if I have spelt the names wrong ) nothing was too much trouble, thank you everyone and I hope you enjoy your new role as customer experience manager and take on “ Mr Blue Eyes “ on front desk full time.
The only reason I gave the room a 4 was due to the tired look, however I will say the rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily. We had a seafacing room with balcony on the 6th floor, beautiful view and it’s well worth the extra money.
As people have commented before the hotel may not be kept up to date decor wise as a 5* Shangri-La however as the 4* it is rated and charged as, its good value , great hospitality , location ideal to local market, dining out etc but it 100% comes with the Shangri-La service and hospitality.

It was a wonderful stay with kids and their grandparents. They enjoyed to the max. The hospitality is wonderful, services maintained top notch, suitable for family to enjoy their time. I was served by Aiman at the front desk, it was a wonderful experience. Pool was great place for children. However it is sad that the beach is disappearing soon due to the climate. Overall great place and will revisit next time. Thank you for the wonderful time.

The resort will look a little dated for others but it didn’t stop our family from enjoying our stay. Service and hospitality was warm. There are a lot of activities within the resort itself, and a lot of things to do outside as well. We felt we should have stayed longer. The view is beautiful.
Food options within the resort is mid. Not bad but could be improved.

We’re currently wrapping up the most amazing stay at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, and it has been the perfect way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
From the moment we arrived, we’ve felt so welcomed. The staff have been incredibly friendly and warm, and the level of hospitality throughout the resort has truly stood out.
We had pre-arranged a room decoration for our anniversary — but what we walked into was beyond anything we imagined. It was absolutely stunning and added such a magical touch to our celebration.
Another unforgettable highlight was our private dinner on the beach. The setting was dreamy, the food delicious, and the entire experience felt incredibly intimate and special. It’s a memory we’ll cherish forever.
We also treated ourselves to a relaxing massage at the Spa, which was just what we needed — peaceful, professional, and deeply rejuvenating.
This stay has been everything we hoped for and more. We’re leaving today with full hearts and unforgettable memories. Thank you to everyone at The Westin Langkawi for making our anniversary so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

We are currently staying at this hotel with our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers), and we have one more night left to stay at the hotel. While we were disappointed by the condition of the rooms, we must say that many other aspects of the hotel are truly excellent
The location is perfect, the atmosphere is quiet and family friendly, and the restaurant staff is extremely kind and welcoming. The food is delicious, varied, and of high quality. The pools and common areas are very well maintained and truly enjoyable.
However, we were assigned two rooms, which are spacious and have very comfortable bedding, but much of the furniture was either broken, damaged, or even dirty which is disappointing for a 5 stars hotel.
In our room, the bathroom door no longer slid properly. I reported it to reception and politely mentioned that it was unfortunate to have damaged furniture in a Marriott Bonvoy 5 star hotel. The receptionist smiled and said someone would come to fix the door which was done but no further comment or gesture was made.
In our children’s room, the air conditioning is stuck at 22°C and cannot be adjusted. Maintenance came twice, but the issue was never resolved. We gave up: either the room is too cold, or if we turn the A/C off, it becomes humid.
As regular Marriott Bonvoy guests, this is the first time we've experienced such poor room conditions in a 5-star property. It's a shame, because the rest of the hotel really delivers a high-end experience. With better room maintenance and follow-up, this hotel could be truly exceptional.

This is a really good hotel. The site, beach and pools are all well maintained in a beautiful setting, and all the staff were friendly.
The rooms were large and comfy, with an excellent view from the balcony. The rooms are a little older, but have been maintained - we could smell the fresh paint.
The reason why I haven't given 5 stars is for 2 reasons:
1. Breakfast was not great quality. It was always busy, and tables often dirty. The range of food is ok, but the quality of food is lower than other 5star resorts.
2. Recognition of Marriott loyalty - Westin resorts are supposed to have a club lounge, but this Westin only gives 2 drinks. I also felt that compared to other similar resorts, Marriott elite loyalty was not as recognized here.
Oh, they have a lounge at Langkawi airport - but this will be permanently closed from the end of June 2025

Despite the hotel being slightly dated, the rooms are spacious and nicely organised. Staff are kind and caring - with a massive shoutout to Izwan (who was always looking out for us and made us feel special). The breakfast was varied and delicious. The best part was the swimming pool with an incredible view of the sea. Overall a 5 star experience for a couple. Would truly recommend

I recently stayed at this resort for 4 days and 3 nights, and it was a unique blend of seclusion, nature, and relaxation. Nestled in the jungle with a private beach, individual rooms scattered across the lush landscape.
**Highlights:**
✔ Exceptional service—friendly, attentive staff.
✔ Impeccable cleanliness despite slightly dated facilities.
✔ Serene, uncrowded beach perfect for relaxation.
**Downside:**
✖ The property feels old but well-maintained—don’t expect modern luxury

Berjaya is a nice resort but the rooms are in need of a serious upgrade. I would say its more of 3 star hotel if you are staying in the rainforest chalet.If you want to get a better experience, the sea view chalets are much better.
On the second night we saw a cockroach which I recorded and showed the manager. He only seemed to be more concerned when he saw that we had a video I think. After Spraying the room the manager said that we could stay in the room or alternatively move to a joined room which had another family on the other side of the conjoining door. That was a downgrade offer since it means less privacy. I was disappointed since we saw a cockroach!!!! After a bit of push back we were upgraded to the sea view room which was amazing. It was available so not sure why it wasn’t offered straight away. However, the assistant manager did get us into the sea view chalet really quickly after, which made up for it in the end.
Other than that, the food options were really good and staff were overall friendly. Beach is really nice and the buffet dinner at Dayang cafe was always lovely. They change up the menu each night which kept things interesting.

Exceptional Experience at Berjaya Langkawi Resort
My stay at Berjaya Langkawi Resort was nothing short of outstanding. The level of service provided was truly above and beyond, and I’m incredibly grateful to the entire team for their dedication and attention to detail in making our stay memorable.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made every effort to ensure the comfort and happiness of me and my family. Due to a personal preference, I was not entirely comfortable staying in the rainforest chalets. Understanding this, the team kindly arranged for not one, but two room changes — eventually relocating us to beautiful seaview chalets that made our vacation even more enjoyable. This gesture alone speaks volumes about their genuine care for their guests’ well-being.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mr. Farez, who personally checked in with us throughout our stay. His warmth, professionalism, and constant willingness to help made a big difference and left a lasting impression.
Thank you again, Berjaya Langkawi Resort, for such a remarkable experience. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and guest-centered getaway.

We recently stayed at the Berjaya Resort Langkawi and unfortunately, our overall experience fell well below expectations – especially when compared to other 5-star hotels in Malaysia. The resort is clearly very dated, with no signs of renovation or upkeep. The condition of the facilities does not reflect the rating it claims.
The food was especially disappointing. Across all dining venues, the quality and variety were lacking and did not come close to what we experienced elsewhere in Malaysia at the same star level. A notable exception was the Thai restaurant – which requires a reservation. It was beautifully located, the service was excellent, and we ended up regretting not dining there more often.
Speaking of service, the restaurant staff (outside the Thai venue as well) were always very friendly and did their best to accommodate us, which we greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, this level of hospitality did not extend to the infrastructure: the Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable throughout our stay, with constant connection issues.
What truly stood out, however, was the natural setting. Being surrounded by rainforest and wildlife is a unique and beautiful experience – monkeys, tropical birds, and other animals could be observed in their natural habitat, something you won’t find in many other resorts. The beach was fairly clean and the sea calm, offering a peaceful environment for swimming and relaxation. The sports activities were also a highlight – we especially recommend the jet ski.
However, these positives couldn’t make up for the overall lack of comfort and quality. The rainforest chalets were really not worthy of a five star hotel. Especially when it rains (which it often does), they become less of a retreat: musty smells, poor insulation, and leaks make it hard to relax indoors.
All in all, the resort could have incredible potential given its stunning natural surroundings – but without significant renovation and improvement of the culinary experience, amenities, and room comfort, we would not return nor recommend it as a relaxing Holiday.

We had a wonderful time staying at The Berjaya Langkawi Resort. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and nothing felt like too much bother. The rooms were clean and comfortable and my children loved the golf buggy rides around the resort. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful and so kind to our children.
The pool area was beautiful and we'll maintained. Breakfast every morning was fantastic with a good range of food to suit any tastes! We also tried the evening buffet which was really good value for money.
We loved being surrounded by nature and saw the dusky leaf monkeys several times! My son keeps asking to return to room 3198 and I really hope we will soon!

Great Stay with Beautiful Views and Top-Notch Service with a Personal Touch!!
Our room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated. Highlight was the amazing sea view.
Both swimming pools were amazing. The infinity pool had the best ocean view, especially during sunset. The lower pool was perfect for relaxing and enjoying with kids. Everything was clean and well taken care of.
Breakfast had a good mix of local and international food. The restaurant staff were genuinely kind and helpful, always smiling and ready to assist.
I especially loved the calm atmosphere, and the quiet beach just steps away. It felt like a real escape from the busy world. Everything about this resort impressed us.
Can’t wait to come back.

I wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful experience I had during my stay at your hotel. The location was perfect, providing a stunning view of the sunset that I absolutely loved. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the reception and farewell services were truly exceptional.
If the room cleaning service were a bit faster, it would have elevated the experience even further, as the in-room dining service was excellent, with meals arriving hot and delicious. It seems the hotel is quite new, giving an inviting ambiance that encourages a return visit. Additionally, the breakfast was outstanding.

One of the absolute highlights of this hotel is the incredibly friendly and attentive staff – whether at the reception or housekeeping, everyone was warm, helpful, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The location is stunning, nestled in a beautiful bay with great access to the surrounding areas. The 24-hour gym is very well-equipped, which is a big plus, and the pool is fantastic. The interior courtyard is beautifully designed and creates a calm, inviting atmosphere.
However, there were a few aspects that didn’t fully meet expectations. The breakfast buffet offers an overwhelming variety, with dishes from nearly every corner of the world. While the intention is good, I personally would have preferred a more focused selection with higher overall quality. The food was decent, but not quite at the level one would expect in this price range. The coffee machines often didn’t work properly, and the food – although plentiful – was generally oily and average in taste.
Additionally, the pricing for extra services like food, massages, and spa treatments felt too high compared to the quality delivered.
Overall, it’s a well-located hotel with amazing staff and great facilities, but with room for improvement when it comes to food quality and pricing of add-on services.

What an amazing experience! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The room was super cozy with a stunning view that I couldn’t get enough of. The pool was a total highlight — crystal clear, so much fun to swim and relax in! But the real WOW moment was the incredible service: I accidentally left my phone behind after checking out, and within just 20 minutes, the hotel staff called me to say they found it! They went above and beyond by arranging to send it back to me, and I got it safely within two weeks. Absolutely blown away by their honesty and care. I’m beyond impressed and already can’t wait for my next stay!

We recently stayed at PARKROYAL Langkawi and had a truly memorable experience. We booked an ocean view room and are so glad we did — the view was absolutely stunning and worth every bit. The room itself was modern, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean, with a spacious bathroom and a balcony perfect for unwinding. We especially appreciated the ceiling fan, which was a nice touch to keep things cool without relying solely on air conditioning.
The pool area is a standout feature — large, inviting, and overlooking the ocean. There’s also a bar and a stylish lounge area, where you can relax during the day or enjoy live music in the evenings, which added a really nice atmosphere to our stay.
The food was another highlight. Breakfast offered a generous and diverse spread, and both lunch and dinner menus were equally impressive — delicious dishes with plenty of variety.
The location of the resort is excellent, offering easy access to local attractions while still feeling like a peaceful escape.
If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the pool lounge chairs. Unfortunately, they were quite uncomfortable — more like outdated deck chairs than what you’d expect at a 5-star resort. It would really elevate the poolside experience if these were upgraded to more modern, cushioned loungers like those at comparable properties.
Aside from that, everything else was exceptional. Thank you to the team at PARKROYAL Langkawi for a fantastic stay — we’d love to return!

I’ve been visiting this resort for more than 10 years and the service is impeccable. The gracious staff and hospitality keeps us coming back. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the cuisine at all the restaurants is superb. Some of the rooms are getting a little tired due to wear and tear, but this is minimal. If you stay in the Rasa Wing, be sure to enjoy their complimentary afternoon tea and evening drinks/appetizers.

My wife and I stayed here during our trip to Langkawi and had an amazing experience. The resort has a beautiful, village-style layout with wooden chalets, palm trees, and easy beach access. We stayed in the Lake view room, which overlooks the Cascade Pool and the sunsets were absolutely stunning.
We used the 24/7 buggy service to get around the resort as it was very humid and our chalet was at the end of the resort.
The staff were friendly, breakfast had lots of variety, and the location is perfect—peaceful but still close to Cenang Beach and the main strip.
NOTE: Bring mosquito spray just in case, and definitely catch the beach during golden hour. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Langkawi as it is also 10-15min drive from the Langkawi airport!

The resort was very nice. It is quite large but we liked walking around like a little village. The food was really good and nicely presented. The staff were lovely and helpful. The infrastructure was quite well done as well.
They also had an international post box and stamps which were great for postcards!
The beach wasn't really used for swimming but the pools made up for it and it was really pretty.

A beautiful resort, with very hardworking and professional staff, eager to please guests, but very overpriced.
We chose this resort because of great reviews of their "Kiki Kids Club", even though we found their rates almost twice of other similar resorts, however it did not even come close to our expectations, built from past holidays at Club Med resorts.
While the resort publishes a timetable of activities for the kids, the staff seemed reluctant to actually conduct them, until we got the management involved.
Additionally, the staff seemed to be reluctant to handle the kids on their own, regardless of age, despite the website mentioning that parents only need to accompany kids less than 5 years old.
However, this said, the management was able to resolve the situation of skipped activities and reluctance to mind the (older) kids independently when we raised the issues to them; still, overall, the Kid's club, our primary reason to agree to pay the VERY high rates at this resort, was still disappointing.
All said and done, it is a beautiful resort, and a very nice romantic get-away for couples, though quite overpriced.

We stayed there for 3 days last week, overall experience was very nice, the private beach access is a plus because they keep cleaning it everyday, I was travelling with a 1.5 year old, there’s a kids club there where my child enjoyed a lot and they have proper activities lined up for older kids. The pools were nice and looked like an oasis in the heat. The chalets were beautiful and huge with a balcony overlooking the sea.
One thing I wasn’t very happy about was the English breakfast, it starts at 8-11am, I even went at 9 am but most of the items finish up and the waiters don’t really check or refill, leaving the visitor with limited options. I mean by 10 am most of the items are gone😂, if they can amp up their service at Pelangi Grill that would be great!

Overall it’s a cool place to visit and the staff are warm, approachable and politely. The best part is down here there are two places for breakfast

- Spice Markets from 7am onwards
In particular , special mention to the staff at the Spice Markets who served with heart and were curious to create conversations with me.
It’s also quite easy to take a Grab or even walk outside for dinner - many choices are available.

We had a lovely stay at the St Regis. We booked the Penthouse Suite and were really impressed by the property and the overall service. The team was kind enough to arrange a complimentary pick up and drop off. The butler service was extraordinary and certainly made us feel more pampered. The property itself is amazing. The living room was large with breathtaking views of the sea and nearby islands. The deck is well furnished and can accommodate many people - it is also overlooking the property gardens and the beach. The main restaurant in the hotel has lot of options and will also take requests. They also have a fine dining restaurant which is on top of the water and a great sunsent view.
The only downside is that the beach seems to be from reclaimed land and seemed more like a swamp with no waves. I didn't see anyone going into the water for a swim.
If you're looking for a relaxing holiday with good food, great service and scenic views, this is a great place. However, if you want to go in the sea for a swim, it might be better to look for a different property.

We had an amazing stay at the Royal Sunset Villa at St. Regis Langkawi with friends and family. The villa is huge—7,000 sqft—with stunning views and plenty of space to relax and hang out. Our private butler was incredible and really made the experience extra special with thoughtful touches throughout our stay.
One of the highlights was the private BBQ dinner at the villa. The setup was beautiful, the food was delicious, and having it all in our own space made it feel really personal and memorable.
Overall, it was the perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and great company. Highly recommend if you're looking for a special getaway in Malaysia!

Overall - an amazing stay with impeccable service.
Negative - Breakfast had a wide selection, and the taste was average - typical of many 4- or 5-star local hotels. More concerning was seeing guests in sleeping pyjamas at the restaurant. It was unpleasant and unhygienic. An appropriate dress code should be enforced to uphold the standards of a five-star luxury hotel.
Kayaking is available at an extra cost. A complimentary 30-minute session would be a nice touch—many five-star resorts in neighbouring countries offer 30 min to 1 h free daily. The hotel shouldn’t be too stingy. It wouldn’t cost much but would enhance the guest experience.

An exceptional stay at the St Regis Langkawi. I returned after nearly 8 years and the hotel as a whole is very well maintained and managed.
The staffs as always are very attentive with laser focused services.
The room is of a decent size and with a great view to the beach. The breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel were absolutely fantastic!
We had an unforgettable experience, and will return in the not so long distant future.

The hotel is a colonial style built with amazing rooms and suits. The grand suite which was as expected by name had two spacious rooms along the separate washrooms with bath tubs in both and a big balcony attached to each room and living area. The rainforest view was amazing. The personal touch by the chef at the time of breakfast and dinner was complementing the hotel’s services. Had an amazing time at pool and beach. The junior play area is supervised and handles kids nicely with lot of activities.
Highly recommended if you want luxury with style.

We had the best holiday at Danna. Our room was amazing with a stunning view. The service was truly exceptional. Minor issue with our room’s air conditioning was dealt with swiftly and effectively.
The property itself is beautiful, calm and luxurious. The buffet breakfast at Planters has plenty of options. We especially loved the French toast. The piano dinner on Mother’s Day at Planters was the highlight of our stay. Each dish was very carefully prepared and explained to us by chef Gary. The spa was heavenly, I wish I had booked it everyday 😊
Perhaps my only comment will be to improve the quality of food at Straits and Co. Food there is greasy and heavy on the stomach. Terrace on the other hand was nice!

Langkawi is a small island, so renting a car is a must to explore—but honestly, we were so glad we chose to stay at The Danna! Our suite was absolutely perfect—beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing!
We loved both the pool and the private beach—warm, relaxing, and the white sand was just stunning. The entire resort is immaculately kept, and the service is truly next level. Every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay special.
There’s even a lovely library on site, which was such a pleasant surprise! The location is great too—just a short drive from the famous Langkawi Cable Car.
From the food and drinks to the thoughtful amenities and outstanding hospitality, everything at The Danna is top-notch. Our family was genuinely so happy with our choice—we’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Our vacation at The Datai was one for the books. The resort had exceptional service, accommodation and food, but what really stood out was their commitment to sustainability. The wildlife in the area aren’t aggressive and it’s obvious that they aren’t fed by humans to keep coming back to the area. The highlights of our trip were the morning and evening nature walks where the guides were knowledgeable and passionate about the grounds. Overall, a great trip that we’d repeat over and over again.

Having travelled extensively across SE Asia over several years, The Datai is outstanding.
The thing that makes this hotel standout is the service from everyone at the hotel - from the gardeners, to the drivers, cleaners and obviously the waiting staff. Hand made chocolates in the room each nice were amazing. I have to also congratulate the pastry chef who produced better morning croissants than any hotel we’ve stayed at (including in Paris). The rotis were great too.
The sustainability efforts this hotel makes are also incredible. Zero waste to landfill and even using special processes to use plastic as a compost. Craft centre built from old wine bottles.
We travelled as a family of 3 with a 6 year old. Worth noting that kids cannot use the main pool at the top, but can use the smaller family pool by the beach. The beach pool felt a little crowded but to be expected during Easter holidays and there was more than enough space on the enormous beach. It would’ve been nice to use the larger pool but understand adults want peace and quiet. The beach was stunning with food and drinks served.
Kids also cannot use the main bar after 8pm, which I think was a shame for those children who are well behaved / quiet - we usually enjoy a family card game and a cocktail after dinner in the bar. It would be great if the hotel would reconsider this policy.
For anyone that appreciates architecture, this hotel is one to see. Considering it was built in 1993, its timeless design should still look great in years to come.
Activities were good, but quite limited. I tried to book rainforest walks etc. but they were all booked up unfortunately. Would’ve been nice to be able to book more private activities rather than rely on space being available in group sessions. Something I’d like the hotel to offer in the future, if possible.
We stayed at the Four Seasons Langkawi afterwards but preferred the Datai due to more authentic design, character and personality. The FS did have a kids club, which was better, but the Datai did offer kids film nights and some supervised activities during the day, but not a full-on kids club.
Overall a wonderful stay and the only hotel I’ve ever felt home sick after leaving - we’ll be back!

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The location and setting is just stunning, set in the middle of a rainforest, on the most beautiful beach. There are monkeys and wildlife everywhere you look. The service is next level, with the most friendly and attentive staff - even someone offering to clean your sunglasses on the beach. The rooms are huge, the food is delicious, I honestly can't fault it.

However I do hope that the resort comes up with some kind of solution so locals can access their own beach.
