Mai resort aligns with several other resorts at Khao Lak’s beach line only it lacks to deliver what it promises. The architecture is lovely, the stuff is alert and kind, there are many facilities, so what went wrong? Management! Here are some of the things I met: My room had mold smell. The replacement had constant flooded bathroom floor. Only one of the two waterslides worked and it required helmets because it’s dangerous. Really! The main pool’s floor has synthetic gravel that pealed of our kids feet skin so they couldn’t walk with us on the beach the day after. Nothing was special at breakfast. The breakfast hall was too hot. The staff took 2-3 times to fulfill my requests several times because they pass on the word but do not check it’s done by the departments. The main gym smells like…. It smells. The second Gym has a broken air-con. Two of the 4 restaurants were open. If the price is less than half of the competitors, you can consider visiting Mai resort.

Great resort with amazingly friendly and helpful staff and spacious well equipped rooms. Restaurants and facilities vary between high and low season. Pools are well set up and safe. Separate adult only section with additional bars/restaurants gym (but can use other facilities too ofc) Main area is family friendly. All in, a great lace to kick back by the pool or beach, or to use as a base to explore Khao Lak and Khao Sok regions. Update for 2024. Still a lovely place, and even though we once again went in low season, as we move further away from Covid lockdown times, more facilities open (Main breakfast restaurant also open for themed buffet dinners every day, sea kayaking, Thai boxing, fishing, fruit carving etc available as little in house activities. Room service menu has been expanded and is both cheaper and better than our previous visit. You'll most likely want to eat at the local restaurants, but if you've had a bit much sun, or are just tired, the Carbonara alone will keep you sustained! Staff of course super helpful and friendly. Didn't see the guy who was a little awkward on our last visit. Occupancy in low season still not high and still feels quiet, but we weren't playing "spot the other guests" this time round. Looking forward to coming back again some day soon. Up to date menus added for Green and Grills (daytime and evening a là carte) etc. Room service menu available on hotel website.

My partner and I stayed only one night in the Deluxe suite with a bathtub. We arrived for check-in around 12:00 PM. The process was going smoothly, but we had to wait for the room until 2:10 PM, despite the check-in time being 3:00 PM. The staff were friendly and kind, although they forgot to provide us with general information about the hotel, such as the location of the breakfast restaurant, how to make internal phone calls, and the WiFi password. However, the room and facilities were worth it, the location was perfect, and the air conditioning was refreshingly cold. Breakfast was good and delicious. We will be back to stay again with my family.

Mai Khao Lak Resort - luxury resort where all rooms are suites. Mai Khao Lak Resort is a five-star beach resort that borders Khao Lak Parkweeb Beach with a total of 306 rooms. At the entrance of the resort is the same line of Mai Holiday by Mai Khao Lak Resort, and by the beach is the Mai Khao Lak Resort. The two resorts share a lobby, breakfast restaurant, and water park. Mai Khao Lak Resort has a suite structure, with large and luxurious rooms. The pool villa room is considered the most luxurious interior among pool villas in Khao Lak. It has a water park swimming pool, providing an optimal environment for the family travel team with children. Mai Khao Lak Resort does not have a shopping mall at the entrance. Instead, there is a shopping mall on the left and right sides of Parkweeb Beach in front of the resort, and 150 meters north is a shopping district with restaurants, massage parlors, currency exchange, mini marts, laundry service shop, and travel agencies.

5 star potential but really lacking in areas. Chon the bell boy couldn't have done enough for us and was excellent throughout the stay. Lovely hotel but really lacks behind for a 5 star. We had a swim up pool and the water was always full of dirt they did go around once or twice a day to clean them out but really wasn't enough. The restaurants are okay the best is on the beach talay Thai, the rest are only mediocre. Good family facilities but even then the evening entertainment is just a big screen. Staff were stretched everywhere definitely not enough staff and definitely not enough experienced staff for a 5 star. The reception is like a train station with staff but little help. The WiFi drove us mental just forget the Internet there. Enjoyed the stay absolutely but I wasn't overly picky or bothered about the hotel if I was it could have been a terrible review.

We hated pretty much everything, with the highlight of me getting bit by bed bugs!!!! Breakfast wasn’t good. There is a variety but everything is very low quality. We booked a room with a private pool. DO NOT expect privacy in your pool though. The pools in the pictures seem like they are facing a river but they either face a driveway or walkways with a lot of people. We were disappointed. We expressed our disappointment to the hotel and they didn’t help us at all. There is another enough light in the room and it was really dark at night which was annoying. The location is very far from town and the taxi is very expensive for a couple, would recommend a scooter. The hotel sits on a beautiful river and offers it’s guests free kayaks for exploring which was really fun. Hotel beach is nice (it requires to cross a floating bridge to reach which is bit suitable for elderly people and families with strollers). The hotel’s restaurants were very expensive but right outside the hotel was a great thai restaurant with reasonable prices and a laundry service.

This was like being at a resort in Mexico, yet way better being in Thailand. All inclusive feels, rooms with swim out pools, pool bar, pool sports, activities, and it’s beach front on the ocean. The spa was amazing, with 2 for 1 promo’s everyday, and top quality masseuse anywhere. Was great! Your 10 minutes to the town, which has some excellent food and drink places. As well there’s some really good local food next door. Stayed here for a week, great experience.

I wanted to enjoy this Resort but felt it was a bit disjointed. The resort is clean and the staff are friendly. I feel that it is not an appropriate place to stay for disabled people. I had not realised that it is on a steep hill. The lobby is at the top and the beach is at the bottom. The restaurants are not ground level and you have to navigate a strange art style staircase for breakfast or try to navigate a very steep ramp if you cannot walk. Similar with our accommodation, I tripped over the rail from the old tin mine outside the block (love that they have incorporated it!) I think it needs a ramp to cover the part to the stairs for safety. The bars and restaurants closer to the beach open after midday. After 10:30am the only place you can get a soft drink before midday is in the swim up pool bar. But what if I'm not swimming? I survived but it would be nice to be able to walk on flat ground to get a drink before midday. That said the resort is clean and very pretty and the lobby staff especially are very attentive and friendly. The food is very good.

We have had a perfect 2 week stay at this secluded, peaceful resort. All the staff are kind, friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make every guest happy. The rooms are cleaned to an immaculate standard, and if you need anything at all, the wait is never more than 5 minutes. We will definitely be back, and would recommend the resort to all age ranges.

Thank you to all of your amazing staff who make this hotel so fantastic. Memorable experience. Extremely relaxed - just what we needed before heading around Thailand. Amazing value - kayak around the river to see elephants washing in the river. Food was very good and cocktails - clean and tidy everywhere! Only feedback would be the activity area needs some titivation but understand it’s out in the elements so hard to keep pristine. Yada was so lovely and gave us plenty of tips of the local area to explore. We stayed in pool villa 9112 which was worth the extra as we are happy relaxing around our own pool - sun dropped out around 4pm but was still worth it. Amazing resort!!! Entered the hotel with the warmly welcome by the bellman. The room is perfect, well clean. Thank you the housekeeping team and the front office department (K.Yui) for arranging my daughter special day, we are very happy. Then, we went to the restaurant, the staff there so friendly, especially K.Norn, K.Alice, and K.Tony. Last thing I want to say thank you to the staff at the kitchen K. Farm, he noticed that I had holding my baby and carrying the dishes in another hand. He offered a help immediately and he helped me to take a breakfast dishes to the table. We are all appreciated! The hospitality here made our trip are truly memorable. Highly recommended! ❤️❤️❤️

We stayed at Le Méridien Khao Lak for the second time because we love the pools and the beachfront location. However, this visit was deeply disappointing, and we will not be returning. From the moment we arrived, the service was lacking. Our first room had a pool access door that was barely functional, hanging awkwardly in the frame. When we requested a room change, the staff offered us a drink voucher as compensation – despite the fact that we were on an all-inclusive package. Throughout our stay, the service was consistently poor. Food and drink orders took an unreasonably long time, and about half of our orders seemed to disappear entirely. The staff appeared uninterested in providing good service, often seeming to avoid work altogether. It’s a shame, as the location and amenities have so much potential. But with service like this, we cannot recommend staying here again.

If u are looking for the best hotel which is family friendly as well, I personally recommend this one. First, the location from Phuket international airport is not that bad it’s a one hour and thirty minutes drive, when we first checked in the staffs were attending to all of our following questions they were very patient to us and kindly explained to us whenever they saw us not just the receptionist the other staff they always said hi to us and smiled. The rooms here is very clean tidy and beautiful the view of the rooms were of the beautiful clean pool down stairs. There is also a kids club with many wonderful staffs and a beach with a beautiful sunset. Overall we would be pleased to come back here again more than once, this is probably the best hotel we have stayed at so far I definitely recommend this one for everyone that has family’s. ✨🐚

🌴 One of the best experiences I've had at a resort! 🌧️ Unfortunately, I wanted to extend my stay, but the weather wasn’t on our side with continuous rain. 🏨 Our room was wonderful—a beautiful pool view! 🏊‍♂️ The resort has multiple large pools, and the swim-up bar is a great touch! 🍹 You can directly walk to the beach from the pool, and the beachside restaurant bar is fantastic. The staff were amazing, and happy hour starts at 6 PM! 🎉 We really enjoyed it! ✨ The staff were exceptional—kind, attentive, and hardworking. 🍳 Breakfast was delicious, and the resort has 3 great restaurants on the property. 🍽️ Plus, there are plenty of activities to book in advance, with something for everyone! 🎾🎨 Loved it! 🌟

Our family of four (my wife, our two children aged four and nine, and myself) recently stayed at Le Meridien Khao Lak for a seven-night holiday. We’ve been to Khao Lak around ten times, but this was our first stay at this hotel. We initially booked a family room with two separate bedrooms for the kids but decided to upgrade to a Pool Villa upon arrival. With four nights already behind us, we feel ready to share our thoughts. Arrival and Check-In: We arranged our transportation from Phuket Airport independently via shuttle, taking about 90 minutes. Upon arrival, the check-in was smooth due to the lack of crowds. Although there’s a separate check-in for Elite members, we chose the standard option. The friendly staff welcomed us with cold towels and a welcome drink, and provided helpful information about the hotel layout and weekly programs for both adults and children. Hotel Facilities: The hotel is a large property right on the beach, featuring three main pools: a quiet pool for relaxation, an activity pool with a bar, and a family pool. This variety allows guests to choose their preferred atmosphere. Dining Options: Breakfast is served at a central location, which can get busy. We recommend arriving early, as it gets crowded after 9:00 am. There are Western and Asian breakfast options, with several cooking stations. The breakfast area transitions into a lunch and dinner restaurant, along with a beachside restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Our kids enjoyed the pizza and pasta options at the pizzeria, and overall, the food quality has been very good. Activities: Le Meridien Khao Lak offers a range of activities for children and adults. The Kids Club provides entertainment for the younger guests, while adults can use the gym. The hotel also runs a shuttle service to Khao Lak town several times a week. In the evenings, family-friendly activities, such as a fire show, are organized. Staff and Service: Service is a standout feature of this hotel. The staff is exceptionally friendly and service-oriented, always eager to assist with any requests. After checking in, we noticed our family room was quite far from the beach. Although the room was great, we wanted a closer location. The staff informed us of the family room’s designated area but helped us upgrade to a Pool Villa, which we greatly appreciated. A special mention goes to the lady managing the pizzeria. Regardless of the time we visited, she was always friendly and attentive to both us and our children, making our dining experience enjoyable. Room: Our initial family room was spacious and well-maintained, either freshly renovated or very well-kept. However, the upgrade to the Pool Villa was an excellent choice. We’ve attached photos of the Pool Villa, and we are very pleased with its location and spaciousness. Location: Le Meridien Khao Lak is about a 25-minute drive from Khao Lak town. Guests can utilize the hotel’s shuttle service, which runs three times a week, or easily book a taxi. While we noticed several restaurants nearby, we didn’t try them due to our all-inclusive package, so we can’t comment on their quality. Guests: The guest demographic is diverse, and we haven’t noticed a specific nationality dominating. This hotel caters more to families with children or adults looking for relaxation rather than a party atmosphere. Conclusion: We have had a fantastic stay so far, and we’re confident that our last three nights will be just as enjoyable. We are already planning to return and look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely lovely staff! The hotel app makes everything so convenient to get in house updates of special events and offers. They have a great kids club that offers fun activities throughout the day, giving mom and dad time to relax. Would highly recommend.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be comparable to a 3 or 4-star establishment in the U.S. The rooms were clean, which is a plus. However, the on-site restaurant is quite limited, especially for Western food. The burgers were disappointing and not at all what you might expect. Additionally, the drinks were weak; you'll likely need to order multiple to match the strength of a single drink back home. Food portions were smaller than I’m used to, which seems common in Thailand. I also noticed some cleanliness issues, as I found ants in my food and drinks on several occasions. During my stay, there were power and water issues, though I can’t say if this is typical for the hotel. Its remote location means there aren’t any activities or amenities within walking distance, so plan accordingly. Most restaurant staff were friendly, but I didn’t experience the same warmth at the front desk. While Pla, one of the managers, was welcoming, another manager could benefit from additional training in customer service. Overall, while the hotel has potential, improvements in the dining experience and service consistency would make a significant difference.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which features a beautiful and well-maintained landscape. The relaxing vibe makes it an ideal retreat for anyone looking to unwind. The amenities are excellent, including a kids' club, game room, and massage services. The hotel has two restaurants—one serving breakfast only and another open throughout the day. However, given the rural setting, dining options are limited, so you're mainly reliant on the hotel for meals. This is perfect for those wanting a serene getaway to enjoy the scenery and beach atmosphere. Check-in was a highlight, thanks to Pla at the front desk. She was incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. This hotel is truly lucky to have her on staff. Unfortunately, other front desk staff were less accommodating, with one even being rude. If it weren't for Pla, I would have considered reducing my rating due to this issue. While we appreciated the friendly restaurant staff, after seven days, the menu became repetitive. Our trip coincided with heavy rain, which often kept us from exploring outside, resulting in more meals at the hotel restaurant. A persistent issue was the presence of ants in nearly every dish we ordered—definitely something that needs addressing. Lastly, the hotel could benefit from adding elevators or accessible routes for guests with disabilities or strollers. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for a relaxing stay, but some improvements would enhance the experience.

Amazing experience, really good price. But what make all the difference are the staffs! They’re so nice, friendly, give us really good welcome. We spent 11 lovely nights in the resort and we can’t wait to come back, they also have a lovely kids club with kids activities every day, we went to with two babies and everyone gave us the most precious treatment with them. The only thing that I could definitely recommend to the resort is get a properly wheel chair access, as we have a pram and it was so hard to locate with it. No ramps enough available to facilitate the location. But we definitely loved it, thank you all the staff specially Autum, Shane from the pool, Mew, Natty from reception, Mai, One, Cream from the restaurant and definitely JIB the housekeeper . Thank you 🙏🏽

Best wonderful hotel ever for Thailand trip in 2024. We visited 3 hotels for 1 month trip in Khaolak, Phangnga and Phuket. Outrigger was one of our favorite. The hotel staffs are beautifully kind and friendly. We felt like home, all staffs look after us magnificently. We were on inclusive package. We fell blessed with more than decent food. The Executive Chef, Chef Tao, he made our days so much grateful with best massaman curry, Mexican salad, satay sauce etc. which unforgettable. The breakfast is variety of food with good quality, not just make it many types but tasteless like others hotel we experienced. Every evening we enjoyed the music from Philippino singer. She's wonderful in selecting outstanding songs to entertain the guests. Can't wait to return there again! Pam vs Bob

The most beautiful family resort! New hotel opened in 2022 so it's very modern with good technical features. Every one of rooms have a private leafy view. There is a fruit/herb garden, cute animals and fish ponds. The gardener Lizzie takes so much pride in everything and was enthusiastic to share his knowledge about the local flora/fauna. The hotel has the most kids activities that I have ever seen in an accommodation - think about kids club, games room, water play, archery, kids football, skate park, basketball, bikes etc. The service was impeccable and it felt like we were staying in a hotel 10x the price. Special mention to the manager Simon who recently took over but every single staff member was super friendly and helpful.

Stayed for a week, fantastic resort. Food excellent, the 2 bedroom with pool was outstanding, staff were lovely and helpful. On a lovely beach too. Minor things are: A few more boogie boards available from the beach stand would be great (only 2 were available and one was broken). And maybe a rotation of the menu for the packages - we stayed a week and it would have been good to have some variety at the the Beach restaurant. Otherwise, fabulous hotel and can highly recommend!!!

We have had the most relaxing enjoyable stay here for 12 days. Everything has been great. All the staff have been attentive and helpful. Shout out to Simon who made us feel very welcome and always had time for a chat. We had a pool access room which was spacious and quiet with a beautiful view of the lush gardens. Great shower ,efficient cooling ,king size bed very comfortable. The food at all venues was delicious and varied, the atmosphere was always welcoming. Great beach and beach bar.The only small disadvantage was the lack of shops in walking distance but it probably saved us some money! I would happily come back again. Paradise id here!! The best value hotel we stayed at in Thailand. The reception staff is kind and helpful. Especially the lovely Gift. You will eat the perfect pizza at the pool- bar in the hotel, prepared and served by Ohm, Pond, Ao, and Boy In the gym and climbing activities, you will meet the charming Nine with an amazing approach to children. Highly recommended for families

This was our 3rd time here, we still enjoyed it. The property is really nice and big, suite for couple, friends and families. Staffs were really friendly and nice yet professional. Variety of breakfast choices, room is really nice and comfy, full of the facilities that designed for everyone. Big thank you to Khun Joe for his hospitality and also thank you to all the teams that made this mini holiday a really nice one for us. We definitely will go back there!

Amazing spot for a holiday! The facilities are incredible, and there’s so much to do during the day with all the activities they organize. The pool is massive and spread out, so it never feels too crowded, which is great. There are plenty of dining options—Italian, international, and Thai—so you don’t even need to leave the resort for good food. My favorite part is the room design. It’s so spacious, with a huge deck and an equally impressive bathroom, all beautifully maintained. The hospitality is always top-notch, and the breakfast is hands down the best I’ve ever had. This is my second stay here, and I’ll definitely be back again. If you’re looking for a perfect holiday getaway, this place is a must-visit!

We had a very good time in this hotel. The beach walks were the best. Secluded place, not crowded, you can walk alone in one of the longest beaches I have ever seen. Sunsets are amazing. The kids had a blast, there are so many things to do for them that there were always entertained. Make sure you get a room with access to the pool so the kids can get out and swim. The breakfast had so many options, a bit crowded for our taste so we ended up having breakfast in the room after the first day. We stayed 5 night but we could have stayed 5 more easily. It would have been nice to give a bit more attention to the cleanliness of the cushions in the restaurants, specially the beach bar and the breakfast restaurant.

We recently spent three amazing nights at this hotel with our kids (ages 5, 8, and 10) and loved every moment. The facilities were so inviting that we felt no need to leave the property! • Check-In Upon arrival, we were greeted by an impressive lobby. The staff guided us to a waiting area, and we were treated to cold tea and wet towels as they processed our check-in. They were attentive and responsive throughout the process. • Pools and Hotel Layout The hotel boasts an extensive array of swimming pools, making it easy to navigate from one area to another. There are designated spaces for adults and families, ensuring everyone has a great time. The options include large pools, kids' pools with fun features like waves, slide and trampolines, plus relaxing areas with jet streams and bars. • Room We stayed in a family room with direct pool access, which was a highlight. The room was spacious, stylish, and featured comfortable beds with large pillows. We appreciated the well-appointed bathroom with both a shower and a tub, as well as ample storage for luggage and clothes. The small balcony allowed us to dry wet items under a roof, protecting us from rain. • Breakfast Breakfast was fantastic, also divided between adults and families. The dining area is quite spacious, but note that tables can be a bit far from the buffet. A staff member guided us to our table, recommended coffee options, and brought our drinks promptly. The buffet was extensive, thoughtfully categorized (such as garden, beverages, Indian, bakery, eggs, and Thai), making choices easier. • Dining Options The hotel offers various dining experiences, including Thai, Japanese, Italian, and Indian cuisine. While some options were pricier than those nearby, we particularly enjoyed the Thai and Indian restaurants but were not fond of the Italian. • Activities There were plenty of activities for kids, including roasted marshmallow sessions and shoe painting. The kids' club was an excellent facility, with pool tables, air hockey, and other games available nearby. • Staff The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Their commitment to our comfort truly stood out. • Cons While our experience was overwhelmingly positive, we did encounter some minor issues. After switching rooms mid-stay (after a short trip), our new room had a weak shower stream and a balcony without a roof, making it difficult to dry wet clothes. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was occasionally slow in certain areas of the resort. Overall, we had an unforgettable family getaway and would highly recommend this hotel!

Superb service, friendly and warm, English speaking, amazing chefs 👨‍🍳 👩‍🍳 🍳 and chamber services are superb, too. Their actions are thoughtful. For example, my charging wire is messy and placed on the table. When I was back after the water sports, the charging cable was neatly tied. I also noticed there was a creative built towel look-alike elephant 🐘, slippers neatly arranged. I was touched by their thoughtful actions. Because back to my country, Marina Bay Sands does not do that much like your caring staff. Thumb up to your chamber staff 👍 👏👏👏 Just want to say thank you to them. Also friendly Male staff at main counter, his name is Tiger.

Huge well maintained resort. Has family and adults sections. Plenty of activities for children and adults to be occupied whole day. Huge pool running throughout the property. Staff and management are top notch. We had some minor issues with our room initially, which were promptly attended to. The food at the resort is quite pricey. It’s worth to prepay for half board if planning to eat on site.

This was one of the highlights of our holiday. The attention to detail was exceptional. The staff were warm and friendly and we were greeted by several managers when we arrived with a big welcome and offered their help and advice. We traveled with 2 teens so we thought the slower pace of the hotel would bore them. We were wrong! They had endless fun with the water sport equipment provided and relaxed by the beach when tired. The gentleman at the beach (I don’t get his name) provided such excellent service. Our water glass was never empty and he prepared our sun beds everyday without question. He always had time for the guests. Overall this hotels is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in across the world. Take advantage of their bikes and go for a cycle to neighboring beaches or to the little shops up the road. If you want to see authentic Thailand with holiday luxury, this place is for you. We will never forget our trip here.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel! The amenities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and our own private pool that was perfect for relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and always eager to help, making the experience even more enjoyable. A special highlight was the all-day à la carte breakfast, complete with sparkling wine—it was such a treat! We also loved the Thai cooking class at the hotel, which added a unique and fun touch to our stay.

This place is owned by Brits if I am correctly informed. This is the standard you are staying there - proper upperclassman. Very stylish, wonderful garden, breakfast a la carte ❤️, I would put it in the category „small luxury boutique hotel“. I had the Jacuzzi Suite, a really big area with two rooms, private balcony. The beach is sweet, fantastic bar just behind. Could be a place right out from a James Bond movie. The pool is pretty cool too. Just come here, stay and relax, worth any penny.

Hands down the mostly highly curated and perfected experience I've ever had with a hotel/resort. The staff are insanely attentive. Your every need is catered to before you even realize you have a need at all. Both restaurants are outstanding. Definitely do their cooking class. The gardens are immaculately maintained. We stayed in the Jacuzzi suite and it was next level fabulous. This will hands down be a return stay one day. Thank you to the exemplary staff for making my five night stay one I'll never forget

Had a lovely stay at the Sarojin. The ambience was peaceful and staff were friendly and warm. Room was spacious, clean and I loved the nature-theme! Food was tasty and fresh! Enjoyed walking along the beach and chilling in the vicinity. Strongly recommend !
