Pros: Beautiful buildings and outdoor spaces Cool wildlife roaming around The staff were all very nice The Japanese restaurant was delicious (gyoza, shrimp nigiri, miso soup, ramen, chicken teriyaki, tempura ice cream, and cheesecake were all great!) The Brazilian Steakhouse was absolutely amazing and every single thing was delicious The pool at the White Sands area was perfect (saltwater, not deep, perfect temperature) The golf carts were great and getting rides around Bell hops were great Room staff was awesome at keeping our mini bar stocked! Cons: Seaweed season makes the beach unusable. We knew it was a possibility, but thought we could at least still swim. It was just too much. I had friends in Cancun at the same time and their resort just 20 minutes up the beach had barely any seaweed. I think the cove at this resort traps the seaweed in and it's just too much to manage. Timeshare pitches - the minute we arrived at the property they were trying to sell to us. I thought they were giving us a run down of the amenities of the resort but quickly realized it was a sales pitch. We were exhausted and starving from travel and I kept trying to get away so we could go eat, but the salesman was super insistent. He also called my room multiple times and would approach me any time he saw me in the lobby. It was extremely off-putting and when I told my travel agent about it she was also disappointed. Food - quite a few times they were out of things we tried to order (like chicken tenders which are essential to kids haha) and the Nescafe coffee machines were empty more often than not. Rooms - our room was spacious but needed some maintenance. It was definitely worn. There were lights out, grimey surfaces in the bathroom, broken tiles, scratched up furniture. The Colonial pool was insanely deep for being the main pool of the resort. I'm 5'7 and I couldn't touch in most of the pool. It makes it dangerous and not fun for kids unless they have life jackets. There's only a tiny baby area in the pool but the water was too warm to even enjoy. There is a kids pool with waterslides that is really nice, but it's too shallow to swim around in. The temperature of the main pool as also super hot, so in the middle of the day it was actually too miserable to enjoy. There was hardly ever anyone in the pool, even though it's an impressive looking pool. Also, the swim up bar was under construction our entire stay which was disappointing.

We are currently staying at Grand Palladium Colonial Resort for our honeymoon, and this has been the most disappointing and worst experience ever. Despite being sold as a 5-star resort with special honeymoon perks, the reality is very different. As a travel agent myself, I had heard from my clients about some bad experiences but a few had positive ones, here I am experiencing this myself. Our room is moldy, dirty, and missing essential amenities. We even found a big flying cockroach, and housekeeping did not respond despite our requests and calls. The reception staff are unresponsive and often rude, and we have been repeatedly ignored when trying to call them. No complimentary upgrade nor special treatment were given (they promised them when we booked 4 months ago saying that honeymooners get special treatment and bracelet that accesses then to adults areas), and the only “upgrade” offered was to a noisy family section full of children and toddlers, contrary to our wishes for an adult-only environment. Drinks are served in worn plastic cups, and the bartenders mostly display poor attitudes and say no to the most basic questions. Lobby bartenders are much better than the pool ones in terms of friendliness and respect. This place does not deserve 5 stars and is not recommended for honeymooners or anyone expecting a relaxing, quality stay. Rather expect a huge lines to get food, 40 mins line to get to the omelette station for breakfast. Most of the restaurants are reserved for dinner. Most of the pools are full of children and poor rooms conditions with trash everywhere even in front of the rooms at the corridors. We are attaching photos to show the condition of the rooms and services here. We have contacted them by email several times and they responded with nice friendly emails that provide no solution, until the end of our day and then we will get a “We are sorry”. This is certainly a trap. You don’t wanna be here to celebrate your honeymoon nor celebrate a romantic getaway.

During my stay, I had the pleasure of meeting Fernando from the POP team, and he has been incredibly friendly since day one! I’ve joined several of his activities, including the workout and jumping classes on previous days, and they were amazing — he’s such a great coach, full of energy and patience. Today we had another nice chat, and he kindly invited us to the evening activities. I really hope to see him again on my next visit! Also, I’d like to mention Gerardo, our waiter, who provided excellent service every day. He was always attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks to both Fernando and Gerardo for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable! 🌴✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Service from Diego! We were lucky enough to be looked after by Diego around the pool during our stay, and he was absolutely amazing! He kept our drinks topped up all day without us ever having to ask, and nothing was ever too much trouble. What really made a difference was his friendly personality — he always had a laugh and a chat with us, which made us feel so welcome and really added to our holiday. Diego’s great attitude and attention to detail made our time by the pool extra special. He is an asset to the Grand Palladium! Thank you, Diego, for making our holiday one to remember! 🌞🍹

I had such a great experience at El Dorado with Jose Ake as server. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. Our server Jose Ake was polite, attentive, and always had a smile. They checked in just the right amount — not too often, but always when we needed something. The food came out quickly, tasted amazing, and you could tell everything was fresh. What really made the visit stand out was how smoothly everything ran and how friendly everyone was. It’s clear the team takes pride in their work. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and even better service! Massive shout out to Jose Ake, he was awesome!
