Disappointing Experience – Not as Advertised
I had high expectations for this hotel based on its promotion of exclusive à la carte dining options. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was advertised.
Upon arrival, I discovered that almost all the restaurants were closed, leaving only one option available. The food at this lone restaurant was far below average in quality, lacking the variety and sophistication promised in the hotel’s marketing.
Additionally, the service was disappointing. It became clear that the level of attention and care provided was directly tied to the amount of tip given. This created an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere.
To make matters worse, the overall atmosphere was unpleasant due to the other guests. The majority of the clientele consisted of American all-inclusive tourists, many of whom stood out negatively. A common sight was guests filling their Stanley Cups with cocktails and wandering around in a constant state of intoxication, which detracted significantly from the experience for those seeking a more refined and relaxed environment.
For a hotel that markets itself as a premium destination, this experience was a letdown. I cannot recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made to both dining and service standards, as well as to the overall guest experience.

We enjoyed a lovely few days at this resort, mostly relaxing at the beach. We especially enjoyed the evening entertainment. A highlight of our stay was getting massages at the oceanfront spa, listening to the sounds of the waves.

Service is fantastic at this resort. You feel like a welcomed guest. Rooms and the resort are clean and updated. Food / drink quality & selection was above average.
Pools were great. Beach is VERY small. It is just ok.

Last November, my husband surprised me with a birthday trip to Hyatt Zilara in Jamaica, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel is massive and absolutely stunning, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness of the property and the friendliness of the staff stood out the most, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.👩❤️👨
The pool was enormous—perfect for relaxing or enjoying some fun in the sun. Since we stayed on the adults-only side, it felt like a peaceful getaway, and we made the most of every moment. ☺️
A big shoutout to some of the exceptional staff members who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. At the bar, Shaun, Michael, and Shantel were fantastic, always serving with a smile. At Yakitori, Chef Shimona and our server Sheena provided an amazing dining experience. Over at the Jerk Hut, Vinton served up the most delicious Jamaican jerk chicken we’ve ever had—it was so good, we could eat it all day! The food across the resort was just incredible, but the jerk station was our absolute favorite. 😂🌞
We did face a small issue with our room during the stay, but Manager Keenev promptly resolved it with professionalism and care, ensuring our trip wasn’t disrupted. ☺️🥰
Overall, while there were minor hiccups, the exceptional service and the breathtaking ambiance of Hyatt Zilara more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a luxurious and relaxing escape in Jamaica, this resort is definitely worth visiting! 😍

My stay at the Hyatt Zilara was pleasant, but ultimately just okay. The resort itself is beautiful and well-maintained, offering the standard comforts and amenities one expects from an all-inclusive experience. However, a few key areas fell short of expectations.
Firstly, the service, while friendly, seemed ill-equipped to handle large groups. We often experienced delays and confusion when dining or requesting assistance, which detracted from the overall smoothness of the vacation.
Secondly, I was disappointed by the lack of authentic Jamaican cultural experiences. While there were some token gestures, like reggae music played by the pool, the resort largely missed the mark in showcasing the vibrant culture of the island. Opportunities to immerse ourselves in local cuisine, music, and art were limited.
The Adult Part of the beach was rocky and ill-maintained .
If you're seeking a relaxing getaway with basic comforts, the Hyatt Zilara might suffice. However, if you're hoping for attentive service, particularly as part of a larger group, or a true taste of Jamaica, you may find this resort falls short.
