This was the resort we chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the staff were friendly, but Mr. Samsul, the housekeeper, was the most memorable. He decorated our room every night with his own special talent, making our anniversary even more special. I think the memories of a good trip can be felt through the kindness of people rather than the luxurious facilities of the hotel. In that sense, I would like to leave a message of gratitude to him.
I have been to several other resorts in the Maldives, but this was the only one where I had the luck to see whale sharks and manta rays. I would also like to thank the staffs who joined in the activity with me, who were experts in spotting them.

We are booked to stay here in April, but so far we are not impressed. it is impossible to contact the hotel and arrange bookings of excursions or restaurants etc.
I have rung the hotel telephone number multiple times every day and no answer. I have also rung the customer services for the centara hotel chain, this was not good, the lady could not understand my queries, and her supervisor was not in that day to help.
Further more they renamed the hotel and changed the telephone number without even contacting us to tell us. The new telephone number given on the website does not even work, it doesn’t actually ring and appears to be the same as the old fax number, so I am assuming this is an error? However this is also the number for the hotel given by the head office, so something has gone wrong.
We booked club rooms so we could have access to the exclusive club area, however on the video tour on the website they have removed the name Club from the rooms. This is worrying, is there still a club section? Do our rooms still give us access? These were questions the head office were unable to answer.
I am hoping once we get there the customer service will be much better and I can give the hotel a better review.
However, the customer service needs to start before the holiday.

We have had the best time here and couldn’t recommend Grand Centara resort highly enough.
Mamum looked after our room during our stay and went well beyond the expected for our anniversary with a gorgeous decoration on our bed it made our trip it was so gorgeous!
From the lovely welcome to the wonderful friendly staff to swimming with Manta Rays this whole experience has been exceptional and we will remember it forever.

We stayed at the Grand for the fourth time, and we still love it! At our stay there were a lot of children present, something we not really appreciated - but it is not an Adults Only property. The Staff was as always very polite and helpful, as you may expect from a property and price range at the Grand is. We were very happy with our roomboy Samsul. He was very tidy and helpful with anything. We stayed in Bungalow 89 - Sunset overwater bungalow, immediately at the edge of the Reef. Nice snorkeling with beautiful colored fish and in large quantaties!!! I even found the beautil clowfishes and Anemones again!! A nice and pleasant location to stay for a week. Just great!

We came all the way from Australia for my 40th birthday. A trip planned for over a decade. My husband and I had a great time with a few thanks. To Samsul for decorating our room for my birthday with balloons, cake and artwork. He then dropped two love birds back the evening after. Very sweet gesture. The young guys on the boat crew who worked hard to find us a whale shark, which they did, and filled the boat with good tunes.
The weather wasn’t perfect, however the resort had everything we could possibly need. Italian was super, pumped with each meal we ordered.
