Excellent getaway for families. I could go on and on about this hotel. Super attentive staff, fantastic house reef - literally 1 m away from the terrace we could see marine life at its best. The staff was amazing: - Habib - taking care of our villa, extra kudos for making sure we didn’t leave any luggage behind - Ashik from Italian restaurant. Always attentive, with great sense of humor and attitude towards kids - Shafiq - from Coral reef bar - excellent drinks. In addition, great spa with fantastic atmosphere, a lot of privacy - no crowds at all. Nice variety of the food - however more towards Asia at the buffet, so if you prefer western - book Mare Azurro and book it in advance.

We had an incredibly joyful vacation at Machchafushi. First of all, the coral reef is one of the healthiest I have ever seen. We saw large schools of fish, sharks, manta rays, and various other marine life. We went diving once or twice every day and still couldn't get enough of it. We also joined excursions to see nurse sharks and whale sharks. Joe and all the other divers were extremely enthusiastic and professional. Because of the feeding, the groups of nurse sharks and manta rays were truly spectacular. Although we didn't spot any whale sharks during the whale shark trip (non-speedboat), it was still a delight to unexpectedly see dolphins and manta rays. We stayed in a Sunset Ocean Pool Villa with The Club access, which I believe has the best location on the island. More importantly, we were able to enjoy the club facilities. Richard was the friendliest friend we met; he was always smiling and chatting with us, and we looked forward to seeing him at the club every day. The club provided drinks and afternoon tea according to our package, and the breakfast was delicious as well. If we have the chance, we would love to return here again!

We are just back from a very dreamy vacation in Machchafushi Island Resort - so sad to leave this marine paradise! We had an absolutely idyllic stay. The rooms were spacious, scenic and gorgeous and the location simply amazing - snorkelling here was out of this world, with an abundance of fish of kaleidoscopic fish, sharks, manta rays and other wonders. The nature on the island was also breathtaking. The staff members were so lovely, professional, corteous and efficient we were equally sad to say goodbye to them. Special mentions must go to the fabulous Mr. Rishard at the Club for looking after us so well at breakfast every morning and the fantastic Mr. Desmond at the Reef restaurant; to Sunny, Ashik and Suood at the Azzurro Mare restaurant for making our dinners so memorable and special and our fantastic butler Munna who not only kept our room so dazzlingly clean and orderly but added lovely thoughtful touches, like the creative sandy drawings he left by the door every night to wish us goodnight. We were also very impressed by Yumi from the Diving Centre who looked after us so well during the sunset cruise. We had a great time at the Coral Bar as well, and the staff there was fab too! Just an absolutely perfect stay and we'd 100% recommend this very special place. Thanks so much to everyone at Machachafushi, we hope to be back soon!

Its a paradise, all the staff are great and friendly. We had a great visit with the Filipino guy named Chris, he gave us lots of information and show us around the island. The barman Shariq from the pool prepares amazing drinks. And big shout out to kumar as well. Everything is a fun and relaxing experience. We had lunch at the thai restaurant and the service is just amazing, great service from Sujan, Pablo and Maow. Highly recommended. Delicous food and drinks💯

We had the most incredible stay at Machchafushi with our kids. The resort was extremely family friendly, our overwater bungalow was extremely safe, the room was always clean by the time we got back from breakfast with the bar topped up, we were very happy. We can’t fault the service one bit, as when our children were fussy the chefs were more than happy to accomodate. Special thanks to Nasim at Reef for always going above and beyond for us, Ashik at Mare Azzuro who was always went out of his way to make sure our kids were happy and Agith at Coral bar for his kindness and patience. Would highly recommend the resort, especially if travelling with kids.
