I had issues regarding my booking before I arrived which I won't go into however I can tell you about my experience whilst staying here. Positives Staff were superb, extremely friendly and helpful, even had a kind gentleman show me to the room when I couldn't find it. Location is fantastic, right next to the beach with great views. Very lively vibe more suited to younger adults due to it's proxy to the new town strip. Great choice of restaurants and bars and had all local shops and coffee shops a short walk away. The gardens were beautiful to relax in, especially when lit up at night time, well looked after to provide a nice chilled vibe. Negatives. I implore this hotel to review it's cancellation policy. For non refundable bookings, it is wrong to charge people the full price of the room to cancel their booking. Even if you don't show up, they will charge you the full amount to cancel, on top of the price it cost you to book the room. This results in situations where the hotel will take twice the amount for a room booking that they can sell to someone else. To me this seems exploitative, I felt forced to attend this hotel to avoid these additional charges that effected my overall feeling of the hotel chain. Just something to bare in mind for people booking here.

El Mexicano – Muthu Praia da Oura We had such a great experience at El Mexicano in Muthu Praia da Oura. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere felt warm and vibrant – colourful décor, lively music, and a relaxed holiday vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with nachos served with fresh guacamole and salsa , simple but full of flavour. The tacos were a highlight: soft tortillas generously filled with chicken and pork al pastor, topped with fresh vegetables and a drizzle of sauce that made every bite burst with flavour. Portions were generous and beautifully presented. The drinks were also refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. What really made the evening special was the charming staff. Everyone was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and adding to the cheerful atmosphere. Our server, Tidjane whose name was written on the little review card we received, really stood out with his welcoming smile and excellent service , a lovely personal touch. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience. Great food, vibrant setting, and service that makes you feel genuinely cared for. If you’re staying in Praia da Oura, I’d highly recommend stopping by El Mexicano – you won’t be disappointed! 🌮🍹🇲🇽

Was one of the best experience in my life. I booked this hotel for my wife’s birthday and it was more than I could have bargained for. She even got a complimentary bottle of wine and a note on her birthday. The entire complex was clean and relaxing. Very good experience!

The rooms are tidy, as is the whole site. It’s a real tricky grand operation which is done to success. The location is good and has easy access to the beach. It is a proper metropolis, like a cruise ship but a hotel which wasn’t really my vibe. We walked for 1 hour and the whole coast is essentially a tourist prison owned by MGM (the hotel). Alright for short term, not sure I could bear more than 4 days It’s a clever concept, an all inclusive package with restaurant options. They ultimately serve very similar food as found in the clockwork buffets, but it meant we don’t go into ‘Henry VIII mode’ and eat as if we are preparing for hibernation. Certainly made the evenings better; good structure and more reasonable portions. The chicken one is the best with great views. The drinks were awful and by far the biggest letdown. The beer was seriously bad. Cocktails were sickly and undrinkable, just came from a draft machine and pumped full of syrup and very weak. The spirits were all ‘house made’ and had an air of petrol about them. You pay extra for the alcoholic package and most of us just ended up not drinking at all rather than put ourselfs through that. We went mad on the diet cokes though(which were nice and crispy). Ahhh I almost forgot! ONE beach towel is €12. This is a rental cost and you do not get this back. €5 rental cost so a €17 fee for one towel. Robbery of the century. Overall a very average resort for what it is. It has plenty of positives and negatives. Best to choose a spot on what you value more. Bear in mind pretty much the entire area is owed by MGM (this hotel chain) so these points made here will affect all sites.

This hotel is fantastic central to all the attractions. The food in Jacs restaurant was fabulous great variety everytime we visited. The pool areas are very good clean and tidy. The staff put on aqua aerobics every day but the pool very very cold so not many takers .
