Stayed mid Feb 2026. Beautiful resort with wildlife all over. Pools were chilly but it was also a “cold spell” so understandable. Enjoyed Leo and the entertainment staff around the pool! Food was typical resort food, decent. Wish there was more evening entertainment but the Michael Jackson show was good! Got tickets for Xcaret park next door and the evening show was good. Overall nice relaxing resort environment 🌴🌴

Really good resort. It is in a great location that helps you enjoy the natural surroundings. Loved the beach and pools and nightly entertainment. I found most of the staff to be friendly. The Food was just ok, I would prefer less food but better quality. Our room was a junior Studio Suite on the ground floor and looked exactly like the picture on the website. The room was not very sound proof but we only heard people in the other rooms and hallways a few times. A great spot from which to visit Xcaret park, as you can walk into the park from two spots in the resort. We got a 7 day pass (you can buy at the resort) so we would see a little of the park each day and relax each day also. A little breakfast then walk into the park and enjoy one or two attractions then back to the resort for lunch and pool time. Finish with dinner and a show then repeat this daily :)

Absolutely great. Our first room was not near trees and we asked for a change before we unpacked and they accommodated us for a fee. We had monkeys and birds come by daily in building 21. All the staff were friendly and nice. The buffets were fine, no food sickness, no flies. We tipped in pesos ($20,50,100) and we tipped all kinds of service and workers just for fun. I did not feel pressured to tip. If you wake up before 9am you can find a chair somewhere (three pools, two ocean spots). Snorkling was great, lifeguards were helpful, the fish were amazing. Everything is far so bring good walking shoes. There is a Trolly if you are patient. Walkways, pools, restaurants are accessible. The park next door was incredible and worth every penny. You can walk or boat there and return for activities if you don’t get it all done in one day. The only constructive criticism I have is the inability to book a room in the building you want and I do not like the deer in a pen. They did not look happy or healthy and other deer were walking around the park free and friendly. The wildlife here is off the charts!!! I loved this place. Been to many countries and Mexico over 10 times. This spot is a gem if it’s you are into walking, adventure and wildlife!

We had a very relaxing stay at the Occidental resort in Mexico. The resort itself is surrounded by nature, with beautiful plants, trees, deer, monkeys, and other wildlife throughout the grounds. Everything was well maintained and created a peaceful, eco friendly atmosphere. D’Oriental was our favorite restaurant. The service there was excellent and the food was good overall. We had no stomach issues at all, which is always a bonus when traveling. I did notice that certain items like avocado, pineapple, and bacon were often limited. We visited in December and really enjoyed the Christmas tree lighting event, which was lovely for both adults and children. The lobby was a bit crowded during the event, but it still felt festive and enjoyable. Another big highlight is the location. The resort is only about a five minute walk to Xcaret Park, a waterfront eco archaeological park offering attractions like snorkeling and cave exploration. The in and out privileges were very convenient, as it allowed us to return to the resort for meals instead of buying food at the park. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, nature filled vacation.

The whole resort is great, but a real highlight for any responsibility-laden parent is their wonderful Kids’ Club, where Paola and Belem (among others) take exceptionally good care of the children so the adults can explore the amazing resort for a bit. They are genuine experts at keeping them well-fed, well-hydrated, and well-amused. Plus they get to meet cool kids from around the world while they’re at it! It is impossible to overstate the value of this service. I rate it at least 11 out of 10!!
