I would suggest strongly to get a room with concierge service or better . We ordered on Expedia and paid for concierge service but also requested a disability room as I have had knee surgery and cannot be on 3rd floor without an elevator access. After a smooth pick up by MTS out luggage was lost for 5 hours in the hotel as the luggage person could not read the lobby staffs handwriting and dropped all our luggage in a different room. My husband had to walk around and figure out and go to the room and find it .. my hubby remains my hero !!What we checked into was a very disgusting room with mold and paint peeling off the walls of the bathroom..we spoke to Jacqueline at front desk who tried her best to arrange the robes and slippers and sent us up some apples .. My husband and I love the park and the view from our balcony as he saw monkeys and birds and was enthralled. We went to another room the next day but it did not have as nice of a view and we decided to try again to find out what we really paid for as we still had to wait in line to book the a la carte restaurants . On day 3 we met Chrystian ( sorry if I spelt your name wrong) who apologize and set us up with the correct hotel rooms ( building 22) where we met the loveliest front desk concierge. From then we were grand. We had a romantic experience. We saw each incj of the property and had zero need to leave the resort. A first for us ! Wow .. get the right room and forgive some mishaps and tipping s in pesos and US dollar bills. Definitely shout out to the chef at the Seafood restaurant. The food was a 10 out of 10. BRAVO !!! FOR THE PRICE IT IS A LOVELY FAMILY CENTRIC Experience. It is like we were in the rainforest. Fantastic my hubby said !

We were very lucky to waited on by a group of wonderful staff at most of our breakfast and lunches at the main buffet; Efrain De Valdez, Javier Couoh, Leonor Mul, Apolinar Dzib, Hernan Hernandez and at the Steak house Rigoberto Perez Ramirez. They all made our dinning experiences very special and memorable. Our group also really enjoyed the staff at Pacos Tacos. Although the overall experience was great, there were a few not so great moments, unfortunately the snack bar was not our best experience. The food at the snack bar was okay at best and the person waiting on us was a little snappy. The pool did close early, but there were activities later in the night that made up for it.

My wife and I recently returned to Occidental Xcaret for our honeymoon after first staying 10 years ago. We were delighted with the service of many of the staff at the hotel but most of all Otillo and Roman in the Beach Club and Pool Bar respectively. Both were absolute gentleman and made our stay very memorable and were first class throughout making us feel at home. If you get the chance to stay at this hotel the warmth of the staff and kindness they share is one of the most memorable aspects. Minor downsides of the experience were slightly poor service from the staff we encountered at the Vacaciones Barcelo desk when trying to check a taxi / transfer back to Cancun airport in comparison. The hotel is really family friendly, has a spacious adult only pool and lots of good food and activities in the evening which were well received by many guests. Good Spa experience and variety of restaurants however some of the buffet elements e.g. salad and bread was lacking when we reserved dinners at these especially the Mexican Themed Restaurant. We had an amazing stay at Occidental at Xcaret. The nature and wildlife was impressive. Guadalupe and Pedro from the buffet were great! They went out of their way to make sure we were well attended. The Kids Club was also fantastic. Jazmin and the other ladies made sure my little girl stayed busy with crafts and activities. The only complaint was that our room had a humidity issue.

If I could put no stars I would. I initially thought this hotel was nice. I liked the lobby and the way it seemed secured. However, I saw a lot of flys everywhere on the food trays and most of the members in my party & myself included got food posioning. My bf had the worst food posioning he'd ever experience, not even covid was similar to that! They also don't offer any remedy for guest who get sick at their restaurants. After asking for a water bottle at a restaurant they will give you a glass of warm water. Everything is also watered down such as juices & teas. I called reception to get me ice, among other things while me & my bf were sick from food poisoning, but I never received anything I ordered by phone or on the information desks. I also felt like it was a major Inconvenience that the shops and lobby didn't have any AC, because it is very humid there. The least they could do is get AC while people buy things. I also felt that the floors were major safety hazards, a lot of people were slipping and falling. The pool is fine but there's a slight smell to it and lots of big ants in the outer cracks, you're better off looking elsewhere with better pricing & safer food choices. It's not worth your money. I know for myself I’m never going here and I’m going to tell those who want to come here to not.
