Maybe standards are different depending on where you go, but this is certainly not a five star hotel. That’s not to say we had a bad experience, but if you’re going here expecting an all round 5 star experience you will be disappointed. The positives are that the location is very convenient, only a short walk into Funchal old town. The rooftop pool, indoor poor and outdoor pool are all great. The hotel itself feels a bit soulless and outdated. The staff were all friendly but not what you’d expect from a 5 star either. The buffet breakfast had lots of options but again not the best quality. The rooms were good but nothing fancy. Nice large flat screen tv but it can’t connect to the internet so wasn’t really of any use to us as we couldn’t use any apps or cast from our phones. Requested a double bed but were given two singles instead. Beds were comfy at least. Lots of people visiting Madeira will rent a car and for a 5 star hotel to only have 5 free parking spaces is a bit strange. There is a second car park which is a first come first served system and costs €15 per day. Overall we had a nice stay and didnt have any real complaints but the hotel should really be a 4 star.

I was slightly nervous after reading some reviews, but this is an excellent hotel - location is perfect, bar, breakfast area, patios and pools are fantastic. Spa is beautiful (Carolina is amazing). Rooms are fine, bathrooms are ok. Breakfast is really good, I love the table for local products. Seriously nice place, with its pools, decor and other amenities, it is worthy of its 5 stars.

We arrived from Porto 3 days ago. It was my third times visiting Madeira and my first time to stay in this Pestana Casino Park Hotel. Overall experience is good and OK. It is an old 5 stars hotel, but still a great stay for me. 1. Location The location of the hotel is OK. It is a few minutes away from the Funchal downtown. We walked at night and was good. 2. Parking We rented a car from the airport. If you want to park in the hotel, you neeed to pay 15 euros per day. We parked the rental car in the up road in front of the hotel entrance. It has a white line mark and it is free. Luckily, we found a free spot in 2 consecutive days for the car. It is quite difficult to find a free parking. 3. Room The size of the room and bathroom is spacious. It is clean. The bathroom is complete with its amenities. The hot water works well. The hotel offers us free drinks inside the small fridge if we want. The AC works well during our stay. The TV has limited channels but still ok. The bed, pillows, and blankets make me feel comfortable while sleeping. I do appreciate this part. 4. The staffs are nice and friendly. The check in procedure is fast. 5. They have indoor and outdoor pool. I went to indoor pool. The water is not so warm, but still good for swimming. 6. Breakfast was OK. Please, do not put too much sugar to the waffle. I prefer the small pancake because no sugar added. Sadly, no pancake this morning :(((

We’ve just come to the end of our week stay at Pestana Casino Park and we have had a fantastic time! Firstly, the hotel is in an amazing location as it’s just a short walk from the old town and most of Funchal. The rooms are very clean and spacious, with just the usual signs of use you’d expect from a busy hotel. The outdoor areas are immaculate and there are varied spaces to enjoy the sunshine. The indoor pool, steam room, and sauna are also pristine and definitely give a touch of luxury. We stayed half board and the buffet has been fantastic. The breakfast spread is vast and has everything you could ever want. Dinner has a really good variation with different themes throughout the week. The staff and the service have been nothing short of flawless. A few servers caught our attention in particular, including Paula who was always attentive and professional; Jose, who was witty and knows exactly how to make you giggle; and Manish for being super smiley, and for just being a hard worker! Quite often we’d witnessed him running around the restaurant making sure everything was in its place, what a star! ⭐ Thank you to the Casino Park team, we’ve had a lovely stay!

Good stay overall, but the hotel clearly needs some serious modernization. The location is excellent, close to the city center. The staff was polite, but could be more welcoming. Best part of our stay was the breakfast... Plenty of warm and cold choices, fresh fruit and veggies, great bread and pastry. Our room was pretty dated, but beds are comfortable, the balcony was great and useful. The bathroom could be more cleaner and shower is pretty narrow. The room was quiet and the view was great. The wifi was fast and stable. The elevators are slow and should be more of them. The pools are good, but expect colder water. There is sauna and steam room. Overall decent comfort, but too expensive for the current condition.
