[For some reason I can't get the app to display my five-star rating for "Rooms", "Service" and "Location", but all three were first class] All good from start to finish. The layout of the hotel was lovely, with plenty of quiet corners. The bar area was particularly nice. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We rented a car and could use the spacious underground car park for EUR 15 a day. The indoor pool and sauna were a pleasure to use. We were very happy with the advice and assistance we received from Sofia at the helpdesk in the reception area.

Awesome huge property, had rooms with both sunrise and sunset views…. wonderful.. many vegetarian choices in breakfast as well as dinner, 15 minutes to Funchal old town by bus, 5 minutes walk to Forum Mall and supermarket

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pestana Grand hotel on January 30th/31st to celebrate my birthday. Upon our arrival at the reception, we were warmly greeted by Inês and Sara. They explained to us how the hotel worked and told us to call reception if we needed anything. When I opened the bedroom door, I was surprised to see how big the suite was. In our room, there were two balconies with tables and chairs on each of them. From one of the balconies, we could see a stunning view of the sea. In the room there was a kettle and tea bags, coffee and milk; in the minibar there was water and juices; in the bedroom closet there were slippers and robes; in the bathroom we had everything for personal hygiene. Our bed was made as requested. A treat, including cake and wine, was left on the living room table by them. The dinner was exceptional; the food was excellent and fresh, the atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant, and the customers were highly satisfied. On the 31st, when we went for breakfast, Mr. Ricardo took us to a special table with confetti. Then, they brought a cake, and the staff sang happy birthday to me. I was super moved by the effort everyone made to make my day special. The hotel is modern with very attentive staff, fresh and well-prepared food, and an extraordinary view of the sea. We loved our stay at Pestana Grand so much that we rescheduled for February 13th to celebrate Saint Valentine's Day. Please kindly ignore the negative reviews. This is a great hotel in a wonderful resort staffed by an extremely professional team. The sea views are amazing, the promenade in front is long and fun, and there is a never-ending list of things to do in Funchal and Madeira. Have the 'time of your life' (hotel motto) and visit Pestana Grand.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly service. The indoor pool has an entry to the outside which makes it fun. Lots of small fountains in the restaurant area which is fun for small children. The hotel staff are all very accommodative to our little one.

If you choose to go all inclusive, the programme generally consists of breakfast (8am to 10.30am), lunch (1pm to 3pm) and dinner (7pm to 9.30pm), all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. During meals soft drinks, beer, water and wine are usually offered. Locally produced alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks like water, wine, soft drinks, beer and spirits are usually served from 11am to 10pm (except during meal times).
