We had an excellent stay in the hotel. One of the highlight has been the staff that has greeted us upon arrival. It was the best experience we had so far with a welcome drink, very friendly and warm welcome, quick handling of check-in, free upgrade of a room and making it easy for us to immediately go and enjoy the hotel facilities as we arrived 3 hours before official check-in time which was not a problem at all, we just had to wait for the room to be ready which went by quick as we enjoyed the pool and sun with a cold drink in a hand! Rooms are having everything that one could need in a hotel, additional surprising fruit bowl has also been a wonderful surprise. Staff is excellent in all aspects we experienced. Food overall is very tasty and there are many options to choose from. Facilities and pools are just enhancing the great experience no matter what weather you get. Location is close to majority of places you would like to visit. If we decide to visit Madeira again, this will be the hotel we will stay in again !

Stayed at this hotel during my trip for the Funchal marathon . I have to say I had an amazing stay . The room was extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped with amazing views . The hotel was very peaceful and quiet which made it perfect for relaxation. The staff are absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond and made everything so smooth from check in to check out, always happy to help and advise . Thank you. Also a special thank you to the barmaid in the hotel bar. Such a warm , smiling and welcoming personality really made me feel welcome and visits to the bar a highlight. Thank you . Thank you again to you all . I will look forward to returning to beautiful Madeira and staying at your great hotel .

The rooms are outdated, not very clean. We got a room with oil stains on the wall which was unacceptable. Also the room smelled like a very strong perfume or cleaning solution, which was giving us all headaches. The only nice thing about it was the balcony view. We won't be coming back for sure. You can get something better for the same money

Great hotel in an excellent location. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are well kept and clean. There is plenty to do in the local area. Well worth a visit.

The location is great. The people were wonderful. Unfortunately the room left a lot to be desired. I understand beachfront properties get a lot of wear and tear but to get a room with stains on the walls is repulsive. While a different room was offered to us, we did not feel like repacking and unpacking. Pestana tries to create an upscale environment but this missed the mark. If someone from the company reads this, 4 stars is being very kind. Wwe have stayed in Pestana properties before but this may have been the last time. Why anybody thought this room was satisfactory to book is evidence that they just do not care.
