Secrets is a lovely resort. The resort is quiet and very relaxing. The gym is a nice size and it is adequate. The beach is not great for playing in the water. Rocks, seaweed, and common ocean debris. I am not sure if it is because of the time of year (December) or tide. If we want night life. We may walk to the otherwise Breathless. Karaoke and a dance club. I think the electrical setup in the rooms can be upgraded. Only meaning the location of the HVAC, and light switched. The staff have been very accommodating.

We recently stayed at Secrets Riviera Cancun, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The resort itself was wonderful, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us, even when the weather threw some challenges their way. A special shoutout to Luis, our bartender at the Preferred Bar, who really elevated our stay. He was always attentive, answered all our questions with a smile, and made sure we enjoyed our time. The Preferred Bar was a highlight for us, as some of the other bars were a bit overcrowded, but Luis managed to create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that made us feel special. The entertainment team also deserves recognition. We had an absolute blast with the nightclub activities—karaoke, the silent disco, and a fantastic cabaret show. They brought so much fun to our evenings! And finally, the food! Every restaurant we tried was elegant and served absolutely delicious dishes. We couldn't pick a favorite—they were all fantastic. Thank you, Secrets Riviera Cancun, for a memorable trip. We'll definitely be back!

Honest Review Nov 7 to 14, 2024 Room 2414 Overall, we would recommend to a person who has never been to an all inclusive because it will set the bar reasonably low. Many other places are much better! First Impressions - Construction I completely understand maintenance has to happen at resorts (and this one needs it! but…) on our first day we encountered a team of construction workers hammer drilling the concrete around the swimming pool causing a lot of noise as we entered the pool area to get drinks and food while we waited for our room. Luckily this only lasted the first day but first impressions are lasting impressions. Speaking of first impressions, shout out to the best servers at the following restaurants, you all made our stay so much better! Rosewater - Yesenia, Lilly and Amara Secrets Pool side - Urbano and Mar Preferred Club- amazing and kind Luis! Makes the best Mexican Hat on the resort. The Grill - Christian He is knowledgeable and attentive and very nice There are so many workers and they were all so pleasant and nice and noticeably hard working! If not for the staff, this place would be so much less tolerable. Also, there is lovely scent on the main floor by the reception/preferred club, even our toilet paper had a delicate scent. Within a few hours of getting into our room the ceiling leaked water causing a large and dangerous puddle on the marble section of floor which could have resulted in a serious injury. My girlfriend slipped pretty bad but luckily didn’t get seriously hurt. When I called the front desk/reception, they didn’t want to believe that we had a leak. They simply said to open the patio door. I said, that's not the issue, there is water nearly pouring in our room. She dismissed me and said open the door then hung up. Not satisfied, I went to where we checked in and said what had happened. Within 5 min a lady showed up to clean up the water, as soon as she saw the water running from the ceiling she got on the radio and a maintenance person was there to clean out the AC drain. Not a huge deal but the ignorance and dismissing of a guest was unacceptable not to mention what would have happened had my girlfriend hurt her head when she hit the deck. The Room Rooms were very clean, and the cleaning staff was there every day. The rooms don’t have any wine, vodka or hard liquor and instead there is a very light Mexican beer, soft drinks and water. The shower is very exposed which is ok for some but not for all. Even the curtain you can close leaves two sides with open glass. The toilet has frosted glass but no lock and open top and bottom. I’m sure you get the gist here, not much privacy especially for those very self conscious. We missed having towels made into animal figures or roses spread on our beds, not required but some places do that every day. General Observations Elevators are not air conditioned making it very hot, they also smell moldy. The restaurants and especially the buffet have poor AC making it very hot and humid to enjoy dinners. We found ourselves rushed to eat and leave so we could get out of the heat. Building 2 ground floor hallway has no ceiling lights making it a little too dark to walk back to your room at night. The outdoor restaurants don’t have any ceiling fans which makes it extremely hard to sit for long, it’s so hot, a small breeze would make a world of difference. For the indoor restaurants, they don’t have ceiling fans and run the AC on low or off. To add that it takes a long time for the food to arrive doesn’t help. One example, at the Asian restaurant (Silk City) it took 1.5hrs for our main course to arrive. Not all were that bad but most were around 45mins with the exception of the Grill. But on the positive note the food was very tasty and fresh at all times and at times some waiters went out of their way to get you what you wanted even if they had to walk at night in the rain to a different restaurant. We recently had the pleasure of staying at Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! This adults-only paradise is truly a gem on the beautiful Riviera Maya. Accommodations: Our room was stunning and spacious, featuring a luxurious king-sized bed, a private balcony with breathtaking ocean views, and a well-appointed bathroom with a deep soaking tub. The daily housekeeping was impeccable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary mini-bar refills and the room service menu available 24/7. Dining: The dining options at Secrets Riviera Cancun were fantastic! We indulged in a variety of cuisines, from gourmet Mexican to fresh seafood. Our romantic dinner was particularly special thanks to Alejandro, the manager, who went above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience for us. He ensured that our table was perfectly set by the sea, took the time to recommend dishes, and made us feel truly pampered throughout the evening. The lively atmosphere at the international buffet was also enjoyable, and the staff consistently provided attentive service. Activities and Amenities: There was never a dull moment during our stay. We took advantage of the various activities offered, including yoga classes by the beach and snorkeling excursions. The pools were lovely, and the swim-up bar was a great spot to relax with a cocktail. The poolside entertainment, led by the energetic and engaging employee Steven, was a highlight of our trip. His enthusiasm and charisma made every activity fun, whether it was water aerobics or games. We had a blast joining in and getting to know him and the other guests. Negative Experience: However, we did have one disappointing experience during our stay. We were approached about a visit to Secrets’ other resort, Maroma . We were told it would be a casual visit showcasing the resort’s special features to entice us to book there for our next trip. Unfortunately, upon arrival at Maloma, we discovered it was actually a membership sales presentation, and we were required to stay for the entire pitch. Despite expressing that we were not in a financial position to invest in a membership we wouldn’t use, the salesperson continued to push hard. This experience felt quite misleading and detracted from our overall enjoyment. Service: What truly made our visit special was the outstanding service. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. From the front desk to the restaurants and poolside, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Overall Experience: Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa exceeded our expectations in many ways. Despite the negative experience with the sales presentation, the resort offered a fantastic escape. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat, this resort has it all. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!

I was there on on September 29/24 for a week. I enjoyed my stay however I would not go back to this resort. Most of the staffs are very nice but I would like to point out that Adrian from concierge went above and beyond and Luis the bartender was awesome. I got sick from the construction noise happening on the resort. The hotel offer to move me after I got really sick from the construction noise. They did not even follow up to see if I was doing better. After I moved I called front desk/preferred desk and ask why I was moved to Breathless. Originally, Oscar did not explain where I was moving to but when I called about it, Lucia must have been having a bad day or something because she was nice before but this particular evening she was so rude. I eventually moved back to my original room. The main reason I would not go back is because I was not able to go into the ocean. You are either stepping on sharp rocks or sinking in mud. I was also very surprise that the road into the resort was so bad. the main road is fine. The resorts can and should do better.
