Activities were free and the entertainment staff was very informative and friendly.
The food was really good and had a variety of choices. The waiters were punctual.
We were given free special requests with high room and honeymoon decoration. This was highly appreciated.
However, the room was very small for a 4 star hotel.
The service was okay. Just seems that the hotel is understaffed. Some staff does not seem to be well trained and the hospitality was not at its best. There is still room for improvement.
In addition, we were given only two 0.5ml bottles of water and there was no refill for tomorrow otherwise this would have been a supplement on our bill. Water is something essential that the hotel should have considered to give freely to the residents (as other 4 star hotel does).
On overall, we would say that the stay went well and smooth but the service should be improved and give more training to the staff on hospitality especially at the checkin (no staff helped us to bring our luggage at the entrance/reception hall) as well as for checkout.

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday in Mauritius with friends from Germany, a trip we'd saved up for and were really looking forward to. Mauritius itself is a stunning destination with friendly locals, but unfortunately, my experience at the Solana Hotel was far from what I had hoped for.
The hotel advertises a relaxing experience by the pool and beach with bar service, but that was not the reality. Our bar fridge in our room wasn't stocked regularly, and our towels were not replaced consistently, which was frustrating during our stay. While the food at the hotel was decent, the drinks were noticeably watered down, which was disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.
A major issue during our stay was the influx of day visitors. There simply weren’t enough staff members to handle the volume of people, and it became chaotic at times. Day visitors used our towels, left bathrooms in a mess, and generally disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. The situation got so bad that we actually left the hotel for a while one day, only returning after the day visitors had gone.
On the plus side, Shane, one of the managers, was very helpful and did his best to ensure we were comfortable, but unfortunately, there was only so much he could do. It’s a shame because the location is beautiful, and with the right level of service, this hotel could be a great experience. However, based on our visit, I would not recommend the Solana Hotel if you're looking for a truly relaxing stay.

I had a mixed experience, the location is top notch, the rooms were fine I just wish there was an extractor fan in the toilet because ventilation was not good, the bed was uncomfortable prompting me to get a lackluster massage at the resort. The food was okay, I thought it would be better but it's just fine.
The service could be better, there is just a slowness to getting things done and you end up feeling like you are bothering the waiters, porters and receptionists.
The resort entertainment is fantastic and I would go back if it were not for the uncomfortable beds.

Lovely, quiet place. Our room had a fantastic view. Staff were polite but not friendly. We were asked to leave the dining room as they wanted to clean for lunchtime. Only one type of wine for all inclusive. On weekends they allow outside parties to have celebrations there. The pool was crowded and very busy. Extra activities included like glass bottom boat, snorkeling, under water walking, padel boat, sailing and tennis.

Me and my wife booked for a week and had a nice time. The staff was friendly and the food was nice with a nice variety of options. Every night was a different theme so you didn't get to bored with the buffet. The pool was nice and having cocktails brought to you made it better.
It's adults only so it's fairly quiet and me and my wife thought it would be so nice but we ended up really missing our kids. The beach was a little bit of a let down as it the water was very high up so there wasn't alot of it and it was very rocky so couldn't really swim to much or just spend alot of time in it. You had to wear water shoes if you wanted to walk around in it. Other than that the holiday was enjoyable.
