An unusual Hotel in The Ritz Carlton Group. Set like a Moorish village with 6 restaurants all featuring different cuisines. The breakfast buffet is extensive and very well stocked, replenished and the service there is excellent. The Suite we had was exceptionally spacious. Strange to say, but too spacious or maybe a lack of furniture to fill the lounge area to the room. The sofas were extremely low to the ground, and a less fit person would have difficulty with getting up from them. The facilities ,coffee machine and mini bar in the room was well stocked. The overall complex, with included many rooms, large swimming pool area and a variety of shops made the complex fully inclusive and no need to venture out if not desired. The Hotel had a Venicular which went down to a sandy cove beach. A small toy train also took the road route there and run every 30 minutes. The beach is sandy and a large sectioned off for Hotel guests which have the complimentary use of beach chairs and towels. The public have the use of a part of the beach but they are obliged to walk down the many rocky steps to access the beach and as a result is appears to only be popular with locals from the island who know the drill.
The Service in the Hotel and restaurants is good. Rooms kept clean and overall a good example of Ritz Carlton standard. The Hotel is placed on a rocky and high cliff and as such, with the different levels of the complex, moving from one area, say restaurant, to bedroom, to swimming pool, shops involves many steps so is not very well suited to disabled or people who have difficulty with stairs. However, overall, for a short stay the Ritz Carlton Abama is worth trying.

Cannot recommend highly enough. The Retreat rooms and overall experience were fantastic.
Exactly what we needed. The spa and gym facilities were excellent and the restaurants delicious - staff excellent everywhere.
Minor note - the spa is a tricky one to find, suggest anyone lost goes through car park vs indoors as signage is confusing.

Wonderful new year's week family trip. All the service and room quality you'd expect from a RC hotel. Spectacular views and really nice being located well outside of the tourist areas. Fairly short drive to grocery stores and reasonably priced good restaurants. Architecture and layout was a lot of fun to discover. Excellent breakfasts.

Fabulous relaxing break in real luxury. We stayed in the club retreat (worth it if you are not doing a lot of day trips and can avail of amenities) and ate in different hotel restaurants 5 nights out of 7. We left the resort on the other two occasions. We were aware that location is a bit isolated so expected that but I was disappointed with lack of options to walk around the vicinity.

We thought the highlights of the hotel were the outstanding food offerings across many of the restaurants, and also the excellent Villas Club offering serving complimentary drinks and tapas all throughout the day besides all of the villa pools. The staff working around these pools were incredibly friendly and helpful and made our stay really enjoyable. We had a couple of issues during our stay with our room and found the hotel reception staff not particularly helpful at swiftly resolving them which was a little disappointing. Overall the hotel club villas section is very nice for a getaway for a bit of sun - but you do pay a price for it!
