We were satisfied with our stay at the Sands Khao Lak Hotel during our vacation. We can only focus on some minor issues: 1. The quality of the bedding: some duvet covers had holes, the duvet did not really fit into the duvet cover 2. Wi-Fi: when switching between buildings, the signal disappeared, and sometimes the network rebooted 3. Dinner on the floating market seemed unreasonably expensive, even compared to the restaurant 4. Upon our arrival, the air conditioner in the room was constantly reset to cooling mode to 21 degrees, and we had to spend time trying to figure out its settings. 5. The beach was washed away by the time we left, we preferred to go to the neighboring beaches 6. The fitness center equipment are in average condition, there is no hyperextension, the dumbbells are underweight, the Concept 2 rowing machine works with a creak and the chain flies off, the knee support pops out on the upper deadlift machine. However, we can note that: 1. Breakfast at the floating market was great. 2. The configuration and equipment of the rooms were at a very good level 3. The dinners at the restaurant turned out to be the best that we tried. 4. I really liked the live music. 5. Having a fitness room was very helpful. 6. The staff was very friendly and helped us with our questions and preferences. 7. the territory was in perfect condition, nothing distracted from the rest

We just spent the last 8 nights in the Sands pool access room. I went with my mum, my husband and 2 children aged 6 months and 2 years old. The rooms were perfect. The staff were so friendly. Examples such as walking home from the beach in the pouring rain a member of staff came up to us and gave us their umbrella even though it meant they would get wet! Another example was I was walking home from the Main Street in the sweltering heat and someone driving past on a buggy came and picked us up. The room service was excellent. The pizzas were so tasty and reasonably priced. The hotel is so handy for local restaurants too. The beach was lovely. I was worried as I had read some reviews about the hotel being too noisy and the pool access rooms being damp? I certainly didn’t think the hotel was noisy at all and the rooms were not damp. My two year old loved the fish feeding. Breakfast was great- lots of choice. We also borrowed a stroller which was really handy. Overall had an amazing time, thank you!

We stayed at the hotel for a short 5-day trip and overall had a pleasant experience. There are many things worth praising. The property has a beautiful territory with direct access to the sea, which made our stay especially relaxing. The restaurants offer a wide variety of food, and although we didn’t have enough time to try the spa and massage services, it was nice to know these options were available. The service was excellent — everyone was polite and attentive, even though not all staff members spoke English well. Housekeeping came every day, and considering what many travelers write about Thailand, the cleaning quality was genuinely good. We stayed in a junior suite with a partial sea view and access to a terrace with sun loungers — a lovely spot to relax. However, there were a few disappointments. We arrived for our honeymoon, and although the front desk staff even mentioned that I “looked like a bride,” no congratulations were offered. I replied that yes, it was indeed our wedding trip, but the receptionist smiled as if she didn’t understand — which felt a bit disheartening, especially considering that birthdays were celebrated in the restaurant, while our occasion was overlooked. Another issue was the bathtub: the drain wouldn’t close, so we couldn’t use it. We mentioned this to housekeeping several times; they tried to fix it, but unfortunately it never worked. And one evening in the restaurant we saw several cockroaches at once, which was quite unpleasant. Aside from these moments, the stay was enjoyable — peaceful, comfortable, and too short. The hotel has a lot of potential, and with more attention to these details, the experience could be truly excellent.

Yep, loved this place. Beautiful rooms, grounds, pools, restaurants. The kids loved the water slides (so did I)! The restaurant food is great quality, with a vast array of it. The kids menu was also very good and very well priced. What I thought was genius, was the very competitive pricing in the mini mart. We all know what resort mini marts are like, overpriced. Not here, and a smart move too. If you want a beer and chips by the pool, you pay the premium. Want the same chips and beer in your room, pay outside prices. A special yell out for the kids club. Great staff, good procedures, fun activities for kids and a clean, pleasant place. This resort is really worth a visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Sands. The resort is absolutely beautiful - clean and well maintained. It has a lot to offer families. Our Pool Access room was a big hit, along with the Cocktail Hour, Massage and inclusive meals. The location was great as we could walk up to the main street and access the supermarket, restaurants, 7/11s, massage places. We will definitely return for another fun family holiday!
