Absolutely perfect stay. The pools are fantastic, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the pizzas are great. The resort is located on a very family-friendly strip of Khao Lak with plenty of food options, so it’s easy to walk out for dinner. There are laundry facilities on site, which is a big plus for families. The beach is quiet, clean, and relaxing, far from the hustle and bustle of the main Phuket area. Highly recommended for a peaceful, family-oriented getaway.

I chose The Sands Khao Lak by Katathani as the location for my wedding event, and it was a wonderful decision. The resort offers excellent facilities, with a wide variety of swimming pools that suit both relaxation and celebration. The overall service is at a high standard, comparable to a 4–5 star resort. The staff were friendly, professional, and very attentive, which helped everything run smoothly on our special day. One of the highlights of the resort is the beautiful sunset viewpoint, which created a truly romantic and memorable atmosphere for our wedding. The scenery was perfect for photos and special moments with our guests. I highly recommend The Sands Khao Lak by Katathani for weddings, special events, or anyone looking for a high-quality beachfront resort with great service and facilities. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

We stayed at the hotel for a short 5-day trip and overall had a pleasant experience. There are many things worth praising. The property has a beautiful territory with direct access to the sea, which made our stay especially relaxing. The restaurants offer a wide variety of food, and although we didn’t have enough time to try the spa and massage services, it was nice to know these options were available. The service was excellent — everyone was polite and attentive, even though not all staff members spoke English well. Housekeeping came every day, and considering what many travelers write about Thailand, the cleaning quality was genuinely good. We stayed in a junior suite with a partial sea view and access to a terrace with sun loungers — a lovely spot to relax. However, there were a few disappointments. We arrived for our honeymoon, and although the front desk staff even mentioned that I “looked like a bride,” no congratulations were offered. I replied that yes, it was indeed our wedding trip, but the receptionist smiled as if she didn’t understand — which felt a bit disheartening, especially considering that birthdays were celebrated in the restaurant, while our occasion was overlooked. Another issue was the bathtub: the drain wouldn’t close, so we couldn’t use it. We mentioned this to housekeeping several times; they tried to fix it, but unfortunately it never worked. And one evening in the restaurant we saw several cockroaches at once, which was quite unpleasant. Aside from these moments, the stay was enjoyable — peaceful, comfortable, and too short. The hotel has a lot of potential, and with more attention to these details, the experience could be truly excellent.

The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful all the time. The facilities were great, kids had a super time at kids club and the pools. Breakfast was amazing. Found the dinner and room service menu a bit bland, the Thai dishes either didn't have much flavour, or had too much fish sauce so we're too salty, preferred to eat dinner out on the street, which was a 5 minute walk away. We really had a great stay and the place is lovely. Was nice to have stalls set up at night and all the lights for Christmas. It was really special for the kids. Close by to elephants and turtles as well as shops, with lots of tours and experiences offered. The Sands staff were all wonderful, from the airport transfer to being driven to our room and the entire stay. They made our first visit to Thailand really easy and stress free.

Location on the beach was great, the waterpark was excellent for our young children. However there were quite a few sour points which made the stay unpleasant. We had cockroaches in our room over the last few days. We finally had an offer on the third complaint for a new room for our last night which wasn't realistic to pack up, move room, unpack and then pack the next morning for checkout. Our kids both ended up with cuts grazes from all the sharp edges on the tiled pools, our son ended up with a particularly large cut on his foot from the tile edges in our rooms plunge pool as well as a cut on his toe from one of the beds. Considering it's a family wing with the pool entry it wasn't very good for children with all the pointed sharp edges. We were constantly monitoring every move our youngest was making in the pool to ensure he remained safe. The buffet breakfast food was amazing and probably one of the best we've had. However, getting non diary coffee was painful and the quality of every coffee we had was poor. Amazing coffee machines for dairy users but if you need barista Almond/Oat etc you're not going to enjoy the coffee. Hotel room service was expensive compared to the restaurants outside the hotel. Food wasn't great either, the kids meals were good, but food was pretty bland and pricey. Everywhere we ate outside the hotel served better tasting food at a more reasonable price, so we only made the room service mistake once.
