This was our first time visiting The Sens Cancun, and despite all the negative reviews we had seen beforehand, we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the resort was. We had the black bracelets, which gave us access to additional restaurants—definitely worth it. Our family of four (husband, wife, and two kids ages 9 and 6) booked this trip last‑minute through CheapCaribbean.com with direct flights and Amstar shared transportation. Both were easy to use and highly recommended. The resort was very kid‑friendly. There were great children’s pools, beach playgrounds, a pirate ship ride, free arcade, and unlimited ice cream at the coffee shop. This was not a party resort at all, which we really appreciated as a family. Dinner reservations were very easy to make through the resort app, and all of the sit‑down restaurants had fantastic menus. The buffets were decent—nothing amazing, but good enough. They were limited and mostly the same items each day for breakfast and lunch. Lines did form at times, but if you go early (before 9:30 AM) you’ll be fine. If you want a beach chair or umbrella, I recommend waking up early to claim a spot—those go quickly. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would definitely return to this resort again.

Perfect for families with kids. Everything was excellent: the room, pools, beach, shows, staff, and restaurants. Don’t forget to book dinner restaurants before noon. Best restaurants in my opinion: Careyes, Los Árcos, Cocoa, and Whitebox for dinner; Maramas and Whitebox for lunch. Akeru Sushi is a good option if you don’t want to book in advance. It’s open from 14:00 to 21:00, and the food is very good. I highly recommend booking the highest level (The Sens) to access all restaurants.

If you want a worry free, easy happy holliday just go away from this hotel. It’s was so a waste of time and money. It’s incredible to be forced to managed and shorten our beach, family time, to do line up for food or restaurant. The resort was overcrowded, lots of issues about restaurants, BIG line-up, HOURS of waiting time wasted. During the day you pass more time making line up, and time in restaurant than enjoy your family on the beach! What a mess! Reservation system was off because too much people in the resort and not enough restaurant for everybody. Sure the réservation system was back on the 29 december, with less people in the resort, after the rush. By the way most of the restaurant are located in the other section, sister hotel Grand Oasis Palm… Also like a bunch of people, the 26-27 december we had, all 4 food poisoning, not usual tourist issue you can have sometime… big hard time for us. The whole hotel/resort need a deep refresh, kids pool not working, pools need to be refurbished also concrete is peeling off. Ventilation and A/C not properly working in our room, elevator was out of order on our last day..fantastic with 2 young kids and a bunch of baggage to check out! Just stay away from this hotel, don’t wasted your money, and your holidays there.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The food was excellent with plenty of variety every day, and our room was cleaned daily, which we really appreciated. The staff were always friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The beach nearby was absolutely beautiful, and we also had access to the hotel next door, which was a nice bonus. The only downsides were that the hotel could use some renovation, and there wasn’t much evening entertainment by the pool. Apart from that, everything was great, and we really enjoyed our stay!

⭐ Detailed Resort Review We were really looking forward to this trip after seeing the resort advertised and rated as a 5-star property, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite match the expectations. Check-in/Wristband Issue: Right from the start, we were given the wrong color wristbands. It seems like a small thing, but it ended up causing confusion and made it clear that communication and organization were going to be a challenge throughout the stay. Beach & Resort Grounds: The beach was never fully cleaned the entire time we were there. There was one single staff member doing his best, but it’s a huge stretch of shoreline and impossible for one person to maintain. The seaweed and debris just kept piling up day after day, which made it hard to enjoy the beach. Dining & Reservations: Their reservation system was completely down, so every night was a gamble trying to get dinner. We waited in long lines just to be told that they couldn’t accommodate everyone. Even the buffet reached capacity, so despite being all-inclusive, sometimes getting a meal wasn’t guaranteed. This became one of the most frustrating parts of the trip. Room Quality: Our room was definitely in need of an update. Several fixtures were rusted or falling apart, and the overall condition didn’t reflect a resort that claims a 5-star rating. We still made the most of it, but it lacked the comfort and polish we expected. Bars & Weather Limitations: The staff at the bars and restaurants were truly the highlight — kind, hard-working, and trying to keep morale up despite the system issues. However, if it rains, the only indoor bar option is the sports bar, which quickly turns into a packed space full of kids and guests trying to escape the weather. There just aren’t enough indoor areas for people to go. ⭐ Overall Rating: 3.5 — maybe a low 4 ⭐ We don’t want to discourage travel, but want future guests to be aware of the disconnect between the advertised 5-star level and the current reality. The staff really does the best they can, but the resort needs more support, better maintenance, and improved systems to offer the experience they’re promising. Would we return? At this point, probably not. But with the right improvements, it has the potential to be a wonderful vacation spot.
