YOTEL - Convenient, but in Need of Attention to Detail
YOTEL offers a good, central location and a modern vibe that initially gives a strong impression. However, with closer inspection, wear and tear become apparent, hinting at overuse and a need for better upkeep. The furniture and fittings, once impressive, now feel slightly worn. It would make a difference if the hotel manager focused more on maintaining these aspects instead of overlooking them.
The lobby’s atmosphere is mixed; while the setup is stylish, the staff often engages in loud, personal conversations, creating an unprofessional vibe. As a guest, overhearing unrelated chatter isn’t the warm welcome one expects. Politeness and professionalism should be prioritized to avoid feeling like one is experiencing “street-level” interactions inside a supposedly refined space.
The room service team does a good job with cleaning, but the pillows had an unpleasant smell—I’d recommend bringing your own if sensitive. Additionally, aimed at eco-friendliness, is frustrating—guests expect efficient amenities, especially when paying for a comfortable stay. Most visitors already have a strong environmental conscience and customers would appreciate a more thoughtful approach.
In general, YOTEL has a solid foundation but would benefit greatly from attention to detail, staff training in etiquette, and improvements in maintenance. The experience has potential, but execution could be stronger to make guests feel more valued and comfortable.
🔴 Note: The sound insulation is very poor.

The hotel was very clean and fairly new interior. The room was compact but very efficient with an expanding bed button so we could always make more room. We also had a fantastic view of the city! The staff was always wonderful anytime we needed help with directions, room cleanings, or whatever it was; we always received amazing service. There’s an amazing rooftop bar/indoor bar & restaurant that has great drinks and yummy food. There was always different entertainment events happening at the hotel too in the Green Room and even brunch events sometimes. It was so convenient to have all of that at the hotel in case we wanted to stay in. The hotel location was pretty decent, it was a 10 min walk to the subway or Times Square, which wasn’t too bad. We look forward to staying here again!

The rooms are what they are. It's a bed and a washroom. You can obviously pay more to get better, but if you are doing NYC properly, you are only there to sleep. I got on well with all the staff they are very helpful. The people in the coffee shop were great and made a brilliant English brew. Not many places do. The view was great

Avoid. Biggest rip off ever.
First of all, the rooms are in horrible condition. It looks modern outside and in the lobby, but you can tell these rooms are OLD. There's black mold in the showers, the faucet control fell off, the shower door doesn't stay closed, there's not even a bottle of water for you even though you paid $250 (with the stupid facility fee), there are weird stains everywhere. They also charge to hold your luggage which is $6 - the parking lot downstairs doesn't allow access to your car until you leave. The TV channels had 5 working channels. The outlets didn't work. The area around the hotel is bad too, there's lots of homeless if you head south. I can list more and more things about how bad this hotel is. Just avoid it and go to a Holiday Inn or something.
The one good thing is the bathroom water pressure is high. That's it.
Management and YOTEL should be ashamed about the state and condition of this hotel. But I guess they don't give a crap because they're serving unknowing tourists that go to this area.
Also, this hotel has the weirdest elevator design. Parking to hotel is one elevator, which is fine. Then you take the elevator to the fourth floor to get to the restaurant, THEN another elevator to the rooms. I've never seen a hotel with this unintuitive design for their elevator.
I will never stay at a YOTEL in any other city again either. Charging premium prices for essentially drive in motel quality. Absolutely awful.

The location can't be beat and the hotel rooms are good about blocking noise. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel bar was chill with a nice drinks selection. The hotel is just far enough away from Times Square to be quiet but close to tons of restaurants, bars, Broadway etc. We attended an event at the javits convention center and it was a quick walk over. The rooms need some updates and repairs, everything is a bit worn looking, but it was clean. Housekeeping was especially great. Would definitely stay here again.
