I stayed at this hotel for the view which did not disappoint. The view was amazing. Another positive was that the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately that is where the positive things end. My first shock was when I got off the elevator and started to my room. The hallways are not heated and enclosed with some weird plastic with holes in it. The room itself was average size for New York. Plenty of room for 2 people. The bathroom was extremely small. The room had a safe and mini fridge however the mini fridge did not cool very well. My drinks would have stayed cooler if I had placed them in the hallway. No coffee maker in the room. Asked for washcloths the second day there but never received them. If you plan on using the subway be warned. It is a fairly long walk. Overall I'm glad I stayed here for the experience of the view but next time in New York I will stay elsewhere. There are much better options in Long Island City.

Lobby and lower lobby bar/lounge/restaurant are great. Love the decor and setup. Staff is very helpful and welcoming. They have a free shuttle that takes you across the bridge and drops you off in the middle of some great shopping and picks you back up. The views are amazing. Rooms are small, the cleaning could have been better, as well as some of the towels and furniture are tattered.

ROOFTOP BAR REVIEW! I didn't stay here but I went to the rooftop bar and it is worthy of this review! You can see that the rooms would also have incredible views but if the hotel itself is above your budget still be sure to check out The Cellar Bar on the rooftop! I had went to another rooftop bar in Manhattan and was not satisfied and ended up here. It is a very close walk from the subway station in a pretty safe feeling but quiet neighborhood. When I was there it wasn't crowed, there was a live DJ and a very good mix of music to suit anyone. You can walk all the way around the rooftop and see incredible views from any angle. I do believe that this was my favorite spot in the city. We found reclining chairs next to the wall and sat back, relaxed and took the city in. This is a must do for anyone looking for a rooftop experience, I promise you won't be disappointed! There is no cover charge and drinks average around $15 but the view is priceless! I didn't hear a dress code mentioned and most people looked fairly comfortable, no one was particularly overdressed, very laid back bar.

I’ve stayed here about a half dozen times over the last 3-4 years and always enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised to see the great, new remodel to the rooms. Clean, bright and contemporary. The view is, as always, unbeatable. The staff is friendly and courteous. Two suggestions: 1) How about in-room coffee? I love a cup before I get moving in the morning.
2) And this one is almost a dealbreaker - I like a hot breakfast in the morning! The buffet is very well done. Fresh fruit, bagels, the works. But I’d rather not pay the $25 added to the bill and get some eggs, etc. for breakfast like I used to be able to get here. I miss that. Disappointing for a hotel that otherwise exceeds expectations.

Within the first hour of being here, as we were waiting for our room down by the bar and restaurant, we could all overhear a girl shouting at a guy over the phone on the main level and this went on for quite some time. I found it odd that the front desk didn't say anything, especially since there was a meeting going on in the restaurant and you could hear it.
Granted, the views were amazing both night and day, and the customer service was overall pretty good, I found the room had its pros and cons.
The air conditioner never turned off; I think we tried to shut it off on one of the earlier nights and it didn't actually do anything. The lights on the right side of the mirror stopped working and I found it challenging to keep the bathroom floor and towel dry with how the shower was designed. Of course, that would just be my fault, but there was a heated floor wall panel, but alas, the buttons didn't even work. Had they been working, I believe it would've solved that problem.
The shuttle busses were fairly decent rides in the morning with a warmer driver, but I felt like the nighttime driver was colder and drove too fast. Anyway, my stay was okay. Not sure I would recommend this particular hotel to people though.
