The staff at Krabi La Playa Resort are helpful, informative and very responsive. I had a concern about my pick-up transfer to Phuket arranged by an agency in England and they sorted it out for me and made sure I made my connection.
Krabi is a beautiful area and worth a visit. I did a tour of Southern Thailand and Krabi was a coastal highlight.
I can't recommend Krabi La Player Resort highly enough and 90% of that was due to the staff.

Staff were pretty nice. Bedding was good and I liked the very firm bed. Ac was adequate but very loud. I think facilities were a bit dated. The location is very central but away from the main street so you still enjoyed some quiet.

Stayed in December 2023. Location and rooms were great. The 2 stars is for service and total loss of water throughout the hotel 1 of the nights.
I was originally coming with a friend, so I had booked a room with two separate twin beds. Then she couldn't come so I emailed that it was just going to be me. Shortly after, I met another friend that could come in her place, so I emailed again, about a week before checking in, that I will have a friend coming again with a reply back "Thank you for your email.
We have already noted for the room with two separate beds.

Well, when I arrived, my room wasn't ready for the check in time. Instead, I waited in the lobby another 40 minutes past check in time. Then my friend came after me from Phuket, and the same front desk lady that had me wait wanted her to pay extra for my second bed even though I already pre-paid for the room with two beds, and it's just a different friend is all. It took several attempts going back and forth with her. Then I remembered I had this email. The front desk lady took a picture of my email with her phone and was mad that I had any proof. She called someone (spoke in Thai) and then all was okay. But even if I didn't have the email, I still prepaid for a room with two twin beds, so why would you charge more at check in? Then on a different night, the entire hotel had no water as well. Pic 2 is the water before it ran out completely Dec 26-Dec 27

LOCATION-close to everything
ROOM-clean, beds are comfy,nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool,toiletries were provided
FACILITIES-pool and bar, garden, good restaurant, game area
SERVICE-excellent hospitality! All staff were friendly, accommodates every requests. We checked out the usual time.

Our travel agency chose this hotel to spend one night here during our Thailand tour. Pros: the room was big, clean and modern, with a huge bathroom. Also, the Night Market and the city center are nearby. Cons: the kitchen is not vegetarian-friendly. For one breakfast it was fine as I could choose egg, fruit or cereal, but there was nothing meatless for dinner. We ate out.
