Rooms were very nice and the resort was overall very clean. The service was great and the beach was beautiful. The resort was smaller than expected but good for a short, quiet getaway. There is not much to do other than go to the beach so it’s good for relaxing, however you can book tours outside of the resort. I’m giving this place a 4 because of the poor quality food. While there are many options at the buffets and a couple of other nice restaurants, the food was overall disappointing. There’s hardly anything Mexican and the food is very catered to Americans. If the food were better, it would have been a better experience. Otherwise a beautiful resort.

The resort is amazing! Definitely stay here. My sister and I came here for 5 days and they had events and activities all week long. I think the best part of this hotel is the amazing staff! The kindest people and always were ready to help. I’m amazed at how hard they work. Special thanks to Sara, Sebastian, Omar, and the entire entertainment crew! You guys are the best!

Our stay at Secrets Maroma in Cancun was a nightmare from the moment we arrived. Instead of being taken directly to our room after a long trip, we were forced to endure nearly an hour of listening to a staff member talk about the property, all while sneakily trying to sell us a timeshare presentation for the following day.
When we finally got to our room, we were shocked to discover that our so-called "ocean view" room didn’t have much of an ocean view at all. Instead, we were greeted by the sight of a dilapidated building on the property. We could only barely see the ocean if we stood on the balcony and craned our necks to the far right. Considering they sell “partial ocean view” rooms, I can’t even begin to imagine what those look like if this is what they consider a full ocean view.
When we raised the issue with the staff, they offered us an "upgrade" to a room with a better ocean view—for an additional $300 per night. The old bait and switch.
Unfortunately, we also fell for the promise of a timeshare presentation that was supposed to last just an hour, with the incentive of a free beachfront couples' dinner. That hour turned into almost two, filled with us constantly saying we weren’t interested, while they pressured us the whole time.
After we left negative feedback, Moreno reached out to make amends by offering a complimentary certificate for us to return and "have a better experience." We decided to give them another shot. However, when it came time to use the certificate, I emailed Castillo as instructed, only to find that the provided email bounced back. After reaching out to Moreno again, I was forwarded to the correct person.
That’s when the real frustration began. After confirming my travel dates, they informed me that my chosen week was a "blackout week" and they wouldn't honor the certificate. Nowhere in the certificate did it state that entire weeks were blacked out. The only mention was of typical blackout dates like Christmas, New Year's, and "special holidays"—nothing about whole weeks being off-limits.
But honestly, I wasn’t surprised. The entire experience with Secrets Maroma has been one massive disappointment from start to finish.

Beautiful resort, great service/ attentive staff, nice rooms, good pools. It fell short on food for us. Breakfast and lunch were great but dinners were all fails. From lasagne with only one noise layer and chunks of growing beef like a broken up hamburger, to a plate of meat with virtually no veg or potato, to a seafood paella that was basically steamed rice with one clam and one shrimp…dinner get like a mix of mad menu design, poor execution and cost cutting. So disappointing when EVERYTHING else about this resort was top notch / perfect. Only saving grace was that room service dinner was pretty good so we do that on a number of nights, including after not eating the inedible dishes we had at the restaurants.

My stay at Secrets Maroma in Cancun was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The food, which is often hit or miss at all-inclusive resorts, was consistently excellent. The Preferred Lounge was a fantastic touch, adding a layer of luxury and comfort to our stay.
Our room was incredibly spacious and featured a private patio with a tub that was perfect for relaxing. The private concierge service went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, enhancing our overall experience.
The resort’s age demographic, predominantly 35-60, created a refined and enjoyable atmosphere without the typical disturbances from younger guests. This made for a more relaxed and sociable environment. The beach was stunning, and the excursions we booked through the resort were well-organized and memorable.
Overall, Secrets Maroma exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious, adult-oriented getaway with top-notch amenities and service
