Atlantis, The Palm is one of the biggest and well-known hotel resorts in the United Arab Emirates. Themed around the myth of Atlantis, it opened in 2008 and has become an icon of the landscape of Dubai.

- When the hotel opened in 2008, there was a light show and a fireworks display.
- There were around 100,000 fireworks set off, which was seven times the amount that was used in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in the same year.
