You can check in online via the Air Mauritius website or on the Air Mauritius app from 30 hours before your flight and up to 2 hours* prior to your scheduled time of departure. Once your online check-in is complete, you just need to drop your checked baggage at the baggage drop-off counter inside the airport.

To check in online, please head over to the Air Mauritius official website and select the ‘Check-in’ tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger, your flight number, and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2. Please have the passport details ready of all passengers you are checking in, and once you are in the booking, please follow the steps to complete the online check-in. This will include completing Advance Passenger Information (API) for each traveller if this is required by the destination you are flying to. After completing the online check-in, you can print out your boarding pass or save it on your mobile and keep it handy, so you have all the details for boarding at your fingertips. Also, during the online check in process, you can select your favourite seats**. Alternatively, you can check in at the airport if you prefer – just head over to the Air Mauritius designated check-in kiosk or check-in desk and the staff will be happy to assist you with the check-in and they will print out the boarding passes for you.

You won’t be able to check in online if:

• You are travelling in a group (defined as more than nine people travelling together to the same destination, not including infants). Please present yourselves together at the check-in desk at the airport. Air Mauritius will do their best to provide seats together or as close as possible to each other subject to availability.
• Any of the passengers on the booking require special assistance.
• There are any infants (passengers below 2 years of age) on the booking. Adults travelling with infants are kindly requested to check in directly at the check-in desks at the airport.

While all efforts will be made to retain specific seat selections made, Air Mauritius cannot guarantee the seat allocation in cases of operational changes or when there is a change of aircraft.

You can select your seats once your flights have been paid in full and they have been issued (ticketed)**

You can select your seats to ensure you and your family or friends can sit together during the flight. To do this on the official Air Mauritius website, please head over to the ‘Manage’ tab. To access your booking, you need to enter the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2. Once in the booking, please scroll down and click on ‘Additional Services’, which will appear just under the passenger names if your flights have been issued (ticketed)**. You can also select your seats during the online check-in process. Please note that in certain circumstances, or for operational reasons, the airline may need to change your seat prior to your departure or while you are on board.

* Additional charges may apply for selecting your seats based on the flight fare booked, the booking class and the type of seat you are selecting.

**Your flight tickets will be issued (ticketed) once they have been paid in full and in line with the ticketing deadline set out by Air Mauritius. If you wish your flight tickets to be issued (ticketed) earlier so you can select your seats, please arrange the payment of your outstanding balance through the Destination2 website by clicking Manage bookings. After the full payment has been made, please email customerservices@destination2.co.uk to request to issue your flight tickets early and please state that you understand and accept that once issued, your flight tickets become non-refundable.

Passengers with reduced mobility can look forward to a safe and comfortable flight on Air Mauritius. The airline team will be happy to assist you in any way they can. Depending on your needs, Air Mauritius can arrange different kinds of assistance:

Requesting an airport wheelchair: If you would like Air Mauritius to arrange a wheelchair, please notify the airline* after booking or at least 72 hours prior to your flight, of any special assistance you would like them to provide before, during, or after your flight with regards to wheelchair assistance.

Travelling with your own wheelchair or personal mobility device: Air Mauritius will transport your wheelchair or personal mobility device (manual or electric) at no extra cost. Should you travel with oversized or heavy devices it may be necessary to make prior arrangements with airport authorities, so please provide* Air Mauritius all your requirements straight after booking, but no later than 72 hours before your flight. Also, if you’re planning on using your own manual or electric wheelchair or another assistive device such as a cane, crutches, walker or mobility scooter, please let* Air Mauritius know at least 72 hours before your departure. Note that your wheelchair or personal mobility devices will be transported as checked luggage.

• If your wheelchair is manual: In most airports, you can keep it with you up to the aircraft opening or boarding gate if access to the aircraft is not directly via a walkway. Your manual wheelchair may also be delivered to you as soon as you exit the aircraft. If you have a long waiting time for your connecting flight, you can reclaim your wheelchair. In other cases, you will receive assistance during your stopover. As above, you must advise* Air Mauritius straight after booking or at least 72 hrs before your flight that you are planning on taking your own wheelchair with you. When contacting the airline please specify the type of wheelchair, its dimensions, its weight, as well as whether it is foldable.
• If your wheelchair is electric/mobility scooter: Regardless of the kind of electric wheelchair/mobility scooter, as a general rule, you must check it in as baggage. You will not be able to reclaim it during a long stopover nor upon exiting the aircraft. You will have to collect your electric wheelchair/mobility scooter at a baggage delivery point. You must advise* Air Mauritius straight after booking or at least 72 hrs before your flight that you are planning on taking your own electric wheelchair or mobility scooter with you. When contacting the airline please specify the type – make and model, its dimensions, its weight, battery type, as well as whether it is foldable. Middle names are not required for travel, and therefore do not need to be on your booking. You can, however, add middle name(s) to the secure flight information (API) when completing your online check-in before departure. First and last names must match the identification documents being used for travel.

Additionally, if you have a hyphen or apostrophe in your name, in your booking and e-ticket the names will appear joined together as the airline reservation systems can't show the hyphen/apostrophe. The same happens with double-barrelled names or spaces between two names. Airport security and passport control staff are familiar with this and there is no need to worry about it.

If you entered multiple first names, or multiple family names for a passenger, it is entirely normal for the names on the ticket to be joined together, even if you had entered them separately when booking online. For example: If you entered Mr John Adam Smith when booking online, your ticket will show the name as SMITH/JOHNADAMMR. This is standard airline industry practice, and you will not experience any issues.
