Underwater adventures, thrilling water slides, relaxing beach time, plus fun and games from dawn until dusk. Atlantis The Palm is a kids’ holiday dream come true on Dubai’s famous Palm Jumeirah island, where giggles are shared with new friends and lifelong memories created.
Planning a family holiday to Dubai’s iconic Atlantis The Palm hotel, can be overwhelming with so many exciting things to do. Here’s our handy guide to help you make the most of your family trip.
Depending on your budget, there are some exquisite accommodation options throughout the hotel, featuring luxurious living and sleeping areas, plus exceptional sea views.
Any of the Suites will give you ample space for a large family, with one or two bedrooms available. The lovely dining area also means you can all eat together in private when you don’t fancy a restaurant environment.
[Regal Club Suite]
Alternatively, Imperial Club Rooms are our favourites for a family of four. Extra bedding will be added for everyone, and the beach bag is a nice touch to help organise sandy days by the sea.
[Imperial Club Twin Room]
Both Club Rooms and Suites have the superb addition of complimentary access to the super-fun kids’ club at Atlantis The Palm. Little ones can enjoy the exciting activities and a colourful play den while parents make the most of some quality time together. There’s also a play area within the Club Lounge, so everyone can have fun during cocktail hour!
Holidays are all about spending time together, and at Atlantis The Palm it won’t be hard to find activities that keep both big and little kids smiling. Here’s some of the must dos:
Dubai’s biggest water park with butterfly-tummy-inducing water slides, rivers, rapids and a private beach; Aquaventure Waterpark has to be seen to be believed. If you’ve got a stomach of steel, don’t miss The Leap of Faith – a 27.5m near-vertical drop into a tunnel that shoots through a shark infested lagoon (it’s OK they probably can’t get you!). Once you've conquered that, the record-breaking zipline will be easy!
If your gang involves smaller children, Splashers is the place for you. Climbing frames, rope bridges, water games and more are all designed for those under 1.2m high. Can you handle the splash of the giant tipping water bucket?
All guests at Atlantis The Palm get complimentary access to the park, so you could all go every single day of your Dubai holiday.
Your little mermaids and mermen will no doubt want to spend as much time as possible in the water during their time at Atlantis. There’s an endless list of water sports to try depending on their age and interests. Kayaking, donut rides pedalos and much more are all on your doorstep. You could even try diving for the first time together, with smaller children getting involved as part of the PADI Seal Team.
The first trip in a helicopter is something you never forget. Imagine gazing down at the magic of Atlantis from the skies, with the deep blue sea glistening in the Arabian sun. The sounds of the chopper whirs in your ears while you take incredible photos to show friends back at school. They’ll be the envy of the class, which is surely an extra tick for parent points! Heli-tours of the city can be arranged from Atlantis The Palm’s very own helipad, making this fantasy sky-high adventure a very real possibility.
Over 65,000 marine animals live in Atlantis The Palm’s awe-inspiring aquarium. Mouths gape open while stingrays fly through the water in the tunnel overhead, plus there’ll be squeals on the first sight of a toothy piranha! It’s a maze of winding tunnels and passages guided by specialist Navigators who’ll answer all the tricky questions. How many teeth do sharks have? Do piranhas really eat people? And how do jellyfish see?
With so much to do, it’s easy to forget to include a little downtime. Atlantis The Palm’s 1.4km of pristine beach is the place to go for some relaxing family fun. Sand castles, beach volleyball and frisbee are all ways to chill-out in the sun. Or simply paddle together in the crystal-clear waters of the Arabian Gulf.
Teenagers might have other ideas for their holiday, and Atlantis has this covered. Club Rush is a teenager’s haven with the latest gaming technology, themed events and activities in the chill-out zone. The alcohol-free bar goes down a treat, with colourful mocktails and a state of the art dance club. They can be independent, make new friends and have fun in a safe and friendly environment. So, everyone’s happy!
The list of restaurants at Atlantis The Palm goes on and on, with new designer venues opening all the time. Some are ideal for families and worth checking out. Our favourites are:
Kaleidoscope – a lavish international buffet with a fantastic list of child-friendly choices. This tasty restaurant is being refurbished to open in even more impressive style in September 2017. It will offer all-day dining, so you can enjoy delicious meals at whatever time your group are feeling peckish.
Shark Bites – Located within Aquaventure Waterpark, this is the perfect place to pick up a simple meal during a fun day out. All the holiday favourites are on offer, such as pizzas, burgers and fries.
Illy Café – Cakes, pastries and coffee while gazing at an amazing view of the Ambassador Lagoon. It will be a snack break you’ll never forget!
Now, the to do list is sorted, the only thing left is for you to decide where to go first!
