One of the most popular beaches and often rated in the world’s top ten, is Negril’s Seven Mile Beach, with soft white sand, crystal clear water and a host of activities.

In Montego Bay, check out the beauty of Doctor’s Cave Beach, which has been a big draw for locals and tourists alike for many years.

Jamaica Enjoy a bobsleigh ride through the rainforest

Day 3: Exotic adventures

Jamaica boasts more attractions than the rest of the Caribbean islands put together.

From kayaking to 4x4 off-road safaris and rainforest zip-lining to horseback riding in the sea, there are a whole host of thrilling activities on offer across the island, with something to suit all ages and tastes.

How would you like to take a bobsleigh ride through the rainforest ‘Cool Runnings’ style, or hit to the water on a river tubing adventure? With so many action-packed attractions, you might need to extend your stay.

Jamaica The Blue Mountains

After a day of thrills, you may wish to take things a little easier by enjoying some of the captivating tropical scenery that Jamaica has to offer.

This captivating UNESCO World Heritage Site offers exhilarating views and is also home to Jamaica’s Blue Mountain Coffee plantation, which is located 5,000ft above sea level and produces some of the most expensive beans and most famous coffee in the world, noted for its delicious flavour.

Jamaica Dunn’s River Falls

Day 5: Splashing fun

When temperatures soar, the water’s the best place to be and Jamaica is a destination where you can combine cooling off with sightseeing.

Port Antonio’s Blue Lagoon is a stunning beauty spot, with inviting turquoise water surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Visitors can take a dip in the invigorating 200ft deep lagoon or choose to take in the sights on a boat tour.

More fun can be had climbing the 600ft Dunn’s River Falls. Along the way you’ll find a series of small pools - perfect for a refreshing splash as you make your way to the top.

For those seeking something a little more laid back, a trip down the picturesque Martha Brae River is ideal. Float along at a lazy pace on a bamboo raft, enjoying the stunning Jamaican landscape as you go.

Day 6: Musical tribute

A must-visit during any holiday to Jamaica is the Bob Marley Museum, in the capital Kingston.

Easily the island’s most famous son, the late, great Marley was a pioneer of the Reggae revolution and played a huge part in bringing it into mainstream life.

The museum is set in Marley’s former home, a 19th century property which he bought, back in 1975.

A memorabilia-filled nostalgic throwback, you’ll even get to see the recording studio where some of his greatest tracks were written.

Jamaica Jerk chicken
