BA Economy Class

What do you get flying in Economy Class?

The amenities on offer in British Airways’ Economy Class vary depending on whether you are travelling to destinations in the UK and Europe, or flying outside of Europe. As an Economy (Euro Traveller) passenger flying within the UK and Europe, you will be able to unwind in the comfort of a leather seat and receive a complimentary bottle of water and a snack. High-speed Wi-Fi is also available on most aircraft, with a choice of paid-for plans offered.

Flying Economy (World Traveller) outside of Europe and across the world, your seat is ergonomically designed with an adjustable headrest and lumbar support. You will also have access to a personal flat screen and headphones, with hundreds of the latest movies and TV shows to watch, video games to play and music and audiobooks to listen to. Meals served during your flight will include a starter, main course and dessert and come with a choice of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks. Those on longer flights will be able to enjoy snacks and a second meal. Other amenities available in Economy (World Traveller) include in-seat power, a soft cushion, a blanket and Wi-Fi - again with a choice of paid-for plans.

For an enhanced experience, you could choose to fly Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus). This option starts with priority boarding and sees you enjoy wider seats with more legroom, head and foot rests, and a quilt and cushion for added comfort. You will also be served sparkling wine shortly after take off, enjoy two delicious meals consisting of a starter, main course and desert, and be treated to complimentary bar service and snacks. Additionally, you have access to Paramount streaming service during your flight and are provided with an amenity kit which includes lip balm, an eye mask, a pen, socks, toothbrush and toothpaste.

BA Business Class

What do you get flying in Business Class?

Similar to Economy, the features found in Business Class on British Airways’ flights differ depending on where you are travelling to.
If you are flying to a destination in the UK or Europe, your contoured leather Business (Club Europe) seat will afford you extra personal space, allowing you to work or stretch out and relax. You will also enjoy complimentary food, including meals such as a full English breakfast, lunch, traditional afternoon tea and dinner, as well as a choice of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks. Access to in-seat power is available on most aircraft, while you can take advantage of a choice of paid-for Wi-Fi plans on most flights.
Priority boarding is another benefit, while Business (Club Europe) status also gives you access to dedicated check-in desks and departure lounges where available.

Those flying outside of Europe, on Business (Club World), will find spacious seats that, as well as offering adjustable headrests and lumbar supports, can be converted into fully flat beds. While sitting or lying down, you can watch a movie, or enjoy an assortment of superb TV shows on your 12” personal flat screen, all without disturbing other passengers thanks to the noise-cancelling headphones provided. Other entertainment options include games, music, audio books and a choice of paid-for Wi-Fi packages. You can also expect food and drink during your flight, with meals consisting of a choice of main courses, as well as a starter, dessert and cheese. Snacks and a variety of drinks are available throughout the journey, with British Airways’ signature afternoon tea offered on some routes.
Other amenities and benefits in Business (Club World), include personal charging points, luxury bedding, an amenity kit, dedicated check-in, private airport lounge access, security fast track at London Heathrow, London Gatwick and New York John F. Kennedy Airport, and priority boarding.
On some long-haul flights in Business (Club World), you may have access to Club Suites. These feature doors for added privacy, larger fully-flat beds, 17” screens and digital seat functions.

Children onboard BA flight

Is British Airways good for children?

Yes, it most certainly is, with children of all ages treated to tasty food and wonderful entertainment. If you’re travelling with peckish little ones to UK or European destinations, you can treat them to a colourful Peggy & Leon Adventure snack box from British Airways’ High Life Cafe menu, filled with sweet and savoury treats, as well as a drink and a small toy. Delicious free meals for youngsters aged between two and 12 are available on long haul flights. These can be pre-ordered, and with a policy of ‘Feed Kids First’, youngsters are happy and full up, allowing parents to enjoy their food in peace. In addition to tasty fare, children flying outside of Europe can enjoy an assortment of child-friendly films, cartoons, music and games through the Skyflyers - Kids’ Zone, with personal flat screens and headphones ensuring other passengers aren’t disturbed.

Family onboard BA Flight

What are the rules for flying on British Airways with a baby?

If you’re flying with a baby aged under two years old (24 months), you can either travel with them on your lap or book them a separate seat and keep them in a car seat, brought by you, and which must comply with safety requirements. If this is not the case, you can still use it, but your child must sit on your lap using an extension seat belt provided by the cabin crew during take off, landing and during any turbulence. When travelling long haul, carrycots and infant seats are provided free of charge. These can be used during the flight when the seat belt signs are off. If you’re travelling with more than one child under two years of age without a separate booked seat, there must be an adult over the age of 16 accompanying each child, so the children can be held safely during take off, landing and during any turbulence. When flying alone with two infants, one can travel on your knee, while the other can travel in their own seat if secured in an approved car seat that complies with safety regulations. When it comes to feeding your little one, British Airways carry some baby food on long-haul flights, but it’s wise to bring your own unopened food. The airline is also not able to sterilise bottles or provide sterilised water on board so, if needed, you will need to take sterilised bottles, and any other equipment, in your hand luggage. With this in mind, you are able to bring an extra bag for any essentials you may need for your baby during the flight. Your infant also has a free checked baggage allowance of one 23kg bag, unless you are travelling on a Basic fare, where you are only allowed hand luggage. However, all fares allow you to check-in two of the following:

  • A fully collapsible pushchair
  • Car or booster seat
  • Travel cot
  • Baby back carrier
*Size, and or safety requirements may apply
