If the idea of travelling long haul with children puts you off planning any faraway trips, you should experience Thailand as a family. While the journey can be quite a stretch with kids, once you arrive at your destination, it will soon become clear that you’ve made the right choice.

The kids’ club is great for children over four years’ old, and they can chill out in the main room with TV, books and toys, as well as a mini cinema where the kids can pick what to watch. There’s also a daily programme of activities, from nail painting to baking cookies.
You also have access to Mai Khao beach which is a beautiful place to while away a few hours. There are quiet areas close to the shoreline, but there are also free and paid watersports available for anyone who wants to try out windsurfing or snorkelling.
Stunning landscapes and hideaway beaches aside, one of the best child-friendly hotels in Krabi is the Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort, with the largest swimming pool in Thailand, enormous rooms, free breakfasts, and a free kids’ club.
Children attending the kids’ club also get a free lunch. There are different activities throughout the week, and children can go between indoor and outdoor play areas. In the evening, as things wind down, children can relax on cushions and enjoy a movie before bedtime.
