The island’s world-class golden, white and even black volcanic sands are ideal for catching some rays and taking to the crystal-clear ocean for scuba diving and water sports. Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay is a mile-long stretch of golden sand offering incredible views of Pigeon Island and featuring Splash Island, an inflatable floating water park. Anse des Pitons, which is nestled between the two piton peaks, is home to soft white sand and calm waters, while Anse Chastanet is surrounded by coral reef and perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving enthusiasts. The Pitons

No holiday in Saint Lucia would be complete without a visit to the majestic Pitons (Petit Piton and Gros Piton), the twin volcanic spires soaring from the sea in the island’s south western coast. These striking volcanic plugs were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. Gros Piton is 798 metres in height and is popular with trekkers and climbers, while Petit Piton is a challenge due to its steepness. Gros Piton has several trails where you’ll marvel at wildlife and plants, and enjoy views of the island of St Vincent from the peak. A catamaran cruise offers the chance to see The Pitons from a distance and a helicopter tour offers a bird’s eye view of them. Other unmissable attractions include the Caribbean’s only ‘drive-in’ volcano near Soufriere, Toraille Waterfall and the hot springs at Sulphur Springs Park.

The Rainforest

Saint Lucia’s rainforest is a captivating natural attraction where you’ll gaze in awe at giant ferns and towering trees as you hike under the shadow of the island’s tallest peak Mount Gimie, passing rivers and waterfalls along the way. Weaving through the forest can be challenging so don’t forget to wear a sturdy pair of hiking boots. The rainforest is home to imposing teak and mahogany trees, a myriad of plant species and an abundance of wildlife. A host of fun-packed activities on offer include exhilarating jungle tours, fern nature trails and rainforest canopy adventures where you’ll glide on a zipline through the trees. There’s also the option to climb aboard an aerial tram for a thrilling journey 2,000 feet above sea level, where you’ll marvel at the awe-inspiring rainforest scenery below.

A plethora of water sports to get your pulse racing including parasailing, kayaking, jet-skiing, paragliding, kneeboarding, tubing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, wakeboarding and water-skiing. Other activities on the waves include deep sea fishing, sunset dinner cruises, speedboat sightseeing trips and dolphin or whale-watching catamaran tours. You can even ride a horse into the water as part of an exciting excursion on horseback on Cas En Bas Beach near Pigeon Island.
