We had a wonderful 3-day full board stay with 38 families at the hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and always ready to provide their support and service. Room service was excellent, although the bad weather made it a bit challenging to enjoy some outdoor activities. The cafeteria has a nice and spacious arrangement, and the food was very tasty. However, we noticed that the menu lacked variety, as similar dishes were served on all three days. Overall, it was a perfect for everyone. A special thanks to our team member Mr.Milan Harsha for representing our group and making this event possible with joining hotel

It was a Warm & very Homely stay. Team headed by Thomas, seemed a great strength as they were always ready to accommodate us, within their capacity to make us feel happy. A special mention of Athula, taking care of the Front Office, who went out of his way to change our initial perception of the place & arrange and get a room cleaned & ready through Nishantha, for us to stay on comfortably. Food was tasty and the salads were so delicious, another plus at the place, Chef Gamage together with Wasantha, at the restaurant took all the trouble to ensure we were well taken care of, even by preparing & offering special dishes. It was so kind of them. Warmly remember Priyadarshani who served us at Breakfast smilingly despite our demands. Another special mention of Thilina at the pool who took care of us and made that experience memorable. Restaurant at the upper floor made it a bit difficult without a lift. As the premises is quite old, we feel overall the standards of the premises need to be uplifted. We were concerned about the cleanliness which should be made aware among the entire staff & place. Live Music and entertainment on Monday night made our stay extra special and we really enjoyed it. Despite premises and cleanliness related few issues, we truly enjoyed our short stay and were well taken care of with the hands on approach by the Senior Staff Members. An amazing spot to enjoy a stress-free vacation. The views are gorgeous, especially by the sea, and the atmosphere is so refreshing. The team here is very friendly and welcoming, which makes the stay even more comfortable. Meals are packed with taste and variety, making dining a special part of the experience. A great choice for both couples and families. Highly recommend !

The hotel has a calm and relaxing environment, and the rooms are quite spacious. However, I wouldn’t really recommend it. The floor in our room was sandy when we check in, and basic items like dental kits had to be requested separately. Each room had only one small 250 ml water bottle for two guests, and we had to refill from a purifier available on each floor. The food was average with limited variety and not very tasty. Overall, it’s a peaceful place to stay, but it didn’t quite feel worth the price.

We came for a two night stay and it was beyond amazing!!! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and made our stay memorable for us. The food was amazing. They have a good spread and all of the food taste amazing! They have a BBQ live station every Saturday night and we enjoyed it so much. The spa is also amazing. They have a sauna, steam room and a jacuzzi. We had a great and relaxing experience in using both the spa treatment and the sauna. Also staff in the spa are well trained and experienced and very friendly! They also have a gym facility, table tennis, squash and many more activities which we enjoyed during our stay. All in all I could recommend Mermaid hotel who are looking for a relaxing and calm getaway and also good for groups as well since they have two pools and ample of garden space to hang out.

Its a wonderful hotel in Kalutara district with a nice beach.I specially thank for front office manager. He manage all things very properly. Rooms are very clean and roomservice is very good. In our check in time and stay period Dilki, Hiruni and Hirosha very friendly with us. I want to come again. This hotel management is very good.

Overall, everything about our stay was absolutely good. the location, the view, the cleanliness, and the food were all excellent. The rooms were comfortable, and the facilities were well maintained. However, the customer service really needs improvement, especially at the reception. The staff there tend to speak in a way that makes guests feel like they’re asking for a public service for free. Even cashiers at Cargills are friendlier and more welcoming compared to them 🤣 Another point of concern is the elevator. It is very slow and sometimes gets stuck between floors. Other than these issues, the overall experience was great, with a few improvements in staff attitude and elevator maintenance, this hotel could easily offer a perfect stay.

We recently visited this hotel for our office family trip, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the size of the property and the way everything was managed so smoothly. The hotel is very spacious with enough rooms to comfortably accommodate a large group, yet the staff ensured that each of us received excellent service throughout our stay. The restaurant was another highlight of our visit. It is large enough to handle big crowds, and I was amazed by how efficiently they provided such warm and attentive service even when serving many guests at once. The food was absolutely delicious with a variety that satisfied everyone, and the quality remained consistently high during our stay. The rooms were very comfortable, well maintained, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing experience. The hotel also offers high-speed Wi-Fi, which was very useful for those of us who needed to attend to internet-based work. The environment around the property is calm, scenic, and creates a refreshing atmosphere, making it ideal for both leisure and work. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a wonderful place to stay, and I would highly recommend it to others.

Our stay was overall a moderately pleasant experience from start to finish. The staff were friendly and efficient in handling billing and registration. The beach was lovely, and the hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotless. Dinner and breakfast were enjoyable, with a nice selection of dishes, and the happy hour with complimentary drinks was a lovely touch. On some evenings, there was live music and a party-like atmosphere, which added to the charm. We also appreciated that the hotel provided free accommodation and meals for our driver. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. This was the only hotel we visited that did not offer refreshments on arrival. Lunch was not as impressive as the other meals, and we had to call several times to arrange the third bed and toiletries for the third guest. Additionally, there was a fire alarm at around 2.00 am (night), which was quite disturbing — it would be great if such incidents could be better prevented.

Shenal Rajapaksha

Recently, we had our annual trip at Thurya Kalutara Resort with 60 staff members and their families. While they did allow us an early check-in, the overall management was very disappointing. Rooms were not arranged properly for double/triple occupancy. Although the room sizes were the same, they did not provide towels, extra beds, or other essentials on time. After repeated requests, we finally received the extra bed only after 5 hours (during the normal check-in time), which was very frustrating. The bathrooms were extremely small, with no proper head shower. A minibar was also not available, which is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. On a positive note, the full board package included 2 hours of unlimited cocktails, mocktails, and local spirits, which was enjoyable. The food was tasty with decent variety (though adding a few more dishes would be better). The restaurant staff were very friendly and did a great job, and the garden was calm with several activities to enjoy. Overall, while individual travelers might have a different experience, I do not recommend this resort for groups or corporate packages due to poor management and lack of proper facilities.

Royal Palm Beach Hotel is a wonderful place for a relaxing getaway by the sea. 🌴🌊 The location is excellent, right on the beach with stunning ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere. The garden areas and pool are well maintained, making it perfect for both families and couples. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which really adds to the overall experience. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with modern amenities. The food is also very good, offering a nice mix of local and international dishes. Evenings by the poolside or beach are especially beautiful, with a cool breeze and the sound of waves. 🌅 Highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for comfort, relaxation, and great service in a beachside setting

We had a fantastic company day outing at Hotel Royal Palms, Kalutara. The customer service was excellent – the staff were very attentive and supportive throughout the day. The food was delicious, fresh, and hygienic, and the place was kept very clean and well-maintained. The highlight for our team was the pool activities. One of the hotel staff members joined and guided us in pool games, which was such a fun and unique experience. None of us had experienced that in any other hotel in Sri Lanka, and it made our outing truly memorable. Overall, it was a perfect place for a team outing – great service, tasty food, cleanliness, and something extra special!

We had lunch buffet at this location and we were quite pleased with the experience. It is located a bit away from the main road, creating a peaceful environment. The environment was very relaxing and they greeted us with a warm welcome. The package included lunch buffet, pool access and an evening snack which included a piece of cake and tea. We specifically wanted to use the pool and decided it was worthwhile to get the whole experience. The staff was very friendly. The food was good and there was quite a collection of food items to chose from. However the dessert section was a bit limited. Any how, the overall experience was great.

An excellent hotel with outstanding hospitality. The staff was extremely helpful, and our room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The food was delicious with a wide buffet selection, plus live Calypso/Classical music during weekend dinners, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The large pool with Jacuzzi and bubbles was a highlight—our child loved it! Highly recommended."
