Overall a great family holiday here. The rooms are a little dated but well sized and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is huge and has almost any cuisine you could imagine. The bar and grill on the beach is a beautiful place to get dinner. They have some more affordable options like pizza, or go all out on the grill. The pools were busy but we stayed in a peak period. The beach next to the hotel wasn’t a great place to relax, it was full of people trying to sell JetSki rides. Location is great, easy to get to all the attractions in Penang, although there aren’t many nice restaurants within a walk compared with downtown Georgetown.

Such a nice place to stay w your family plus the room is very comfortable and clean. It is very kid friendly. Have variety choices of food which is worth every penny to stay here. Hopefully the good service provided by the staff will be maintain. They also provide a wish card and a slice of cake for our anniversary upon request. Surely will come again

Facilities are good. But the morning breakfast and dinner buffet i will give 0/10. Food taste wise staffing all very disappointing. I will higher recommend hospitality as they provide good environment for the kids.

Spent 6days here with kids and husband Must say the lifeguards impressed me with how alert they were. Would definitely go back and stay at shangri la golden sands. The hotel itself could get a renovation but still good

1) The buildings are aged. Design is from 90s. The kids club is looking old and dark. 2) The staffs are not smiling. Have no interest to start conversation with the guests. 3) The taste of the food is only so so. 4) Ordered bell service to check out but after 30min still no sign. I walked down myself but I do see many bell staffs / concierge guys standing around. The Indian lady holding the talkie seems very unorganized though she kept apologizing. 5) They don't clean the beach. There is litter everywhere. The staffs in charge of taking the chairs away at 7pm are very rude and bold. No please or smile. Overall, it has nothing to do with luxury or Shangri-La standard. I would say it's comfortable and convenient.

Breakfast need be more variety. Room service need to be improved in term of timing. Stayed here for almost a week. Two days missed to make up my room although the no disturb sign is off. Pool is massive and kids friendly. Lifeguard need to be more aware on children using the slide especially yellow one. Some of the user are very aggressive and can cause harm to other people at the end of the slide when they slide down. Some kind of warning or a mere whistle blown may taught them to be more respectful to other. Parking is ample, toilet is very clean. Overall okay.

The Hard Rock Hotel Penang is a lively, family-friendly resort. It offers a large pool, and direct beach access. The hotel has good dining options and a fun, music-themed atmosphere. While the staff is friendly and the location is convenient, it can be a bit pricey and crowded at times. Overall, it’s a great choice for those seeking a vibrant and relaxing getaway.

Great place for family with kids. My kids had so much fun, glad we chose this hotel. Especially the kids club, he was there from 3 till 7pm. Made new friends too. Room was alright. Breakfast was great, mostly same food for the 3 days breakfast we had. Taste wise, expected from such hotel. Staff could be more attentive to the one sitting outside. Checking and peeping people sitting outside but let the tables filled up with plates, only cleaned up when called. Kudos to the lifeguard at the pool as well. Mad respect under the hot sun too.

Its a decent hotel with excellent service. Great view from the room. Sadly the connecting pool room is all sold out. Breakfast is tasty but not too much of choices

We stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent place especially for family with young children. My kids enjoyed the water slides, pool and the sand. There is a grocery shop opposite the road, selling float, spade/bucket, snacks and even swimming suit. Be careful when walking in the beach, and avoid playing in the sea as might sting by jelly fish. Overall, the stay in hard rock is fantastic and thank you to the hard rock team for providing the 5-star service including vinegar spray to treat the jelly fish sting.

So, I stayed at Lone Pine for three nights, and it was...interesting. Like, some parts were great, and others made me go "huh?" First of all, I appreciated the upgrade to a suite for Marriott Ti member, but the room was right on top of some kind of noisy machines and had a really basic view of the rooftop of the restaurant. I think I would not accept the upgrade and keep the basic room the next time. Ok, I’ll go to the details. Service: This was the most variable aspect. While the majority of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, even remembering my name, the front desk was frequently understaffed, leading to frustrating delays, especially during peak hours. This inconsistency significantly impacted my overall impression. Room & Maintenance: The room itself was generally comfortable, but some furniture was showing signs of wear and tear, indicating a need for better maintenance. The modern amenities were a plus, but this was offset by the very limited selection of TV channels. Breakfast: The breakfast experience was pleasant, if not spectacular. I appreciated the outdoor seating by the pool, which created a relaxed atmosphere and avoided the usual breakfast rush. However, the food selection was quite limited, leaving much to be desired. Beach & Surroundings: The hotel's beach access is a definite advantage, but be prepared for a lively atmosphere. The water sports activities can make it quite noisy, and the water itself was not exceptionally clear. Overall: Lone Pine has the potential to be a great hotel, but it needs to address some key areas. The friendly staff and modern room features are positives, but the inconsistent front desk service, maintenance issues, and limited breakfast selection detract from the overall experience. If they can improve these areas, this hotel could be a real gem.

This was my first visit here, and we felt comfortable and relaxed. The hotel is very kid-friendly, especially with the private pool in the room, allowing kids to play whenever they like. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and child really enjoyed the pool. Plus, the beach is just a short walk from the hotel, right in front of it. There is plenty of parking available, so there’s no need to worry even if you return late. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Penang in the future.

Well, I will definitely go again ! From the front desk to security , waiter, and waitress, service good! Smile, sweety! Friendly! Full of satisfaction The room is comfortable, and the bed is so comfy to sleep. Hygiene was good, the place was not noisy, it's a good hotel! The food is good, and the morning breakfast is perfect. What should be have , they have, also provide espresso brew coffee, juice and coffee, anyways , high recommended and will come back again

The location is another highlight; it’s just a short walk to the Ferringhi Market, which is packed with local vendors and delicious food options. Overall, my experience was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay!

I didn’t stay the night there but my sister booked a nice picnic by the beach by Lone Pine Hotel. Delicious food and great service. Would have been much better if it was ready by the time we arrived but the view was worth it.
