My colleagues and I recently stayed at Lone Pine, and I have to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to Firdaus, the concierge who quite literally turned our trip around. We were initially booked at another Marriott property — but to our shock, that property completely messed up our reservation. We were left stranded, tired, and frustrated after a long day of travel and work. It was one of those moments where you start questioning why you even bother being loyal to a hotel brand. But then, we met Firdaus. From the very first moment, he listened — genuinely listened — to what we were going through. No script, no robotic “I understand, sir” responses — just pure empathy, composure, and a quiet confidence that instantly calmed us down. He didn’t have to help us the way he did, but he chose to. And that choice made all the difference. He personally ensured that we got settled, checked in smoothly, and had everything we needed to rest after the chaos. He followed up, checked in on us, and went beyond what his job description probably covers — not because he had to, but because he cared. That kind of sincerity is rare. It’s the kind of thing you can’t train or teach — it comes from the heart. Because of Firdaus, what started as a stressful night became one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in a long time. He made our stay superb — not just in comfort, but in feeling genuinely looked after. It wasn’t about the hotel amenities, the room, or the view — it was about how he made us feel seen, valued, and cared for. It reminded me that hospitality isn’t just about service — it’s about humanity. And Firdaus embodied that perfectly. To the management at Lone Pine, please know you have a gem in your team. People like him define your brand far more than any marketing campaign ever could. He made us proud to still be part of the Marriott family, even after a disappointing experience elsewhere. Thank you, Firdaus, for being the reason our trip turned from a disaster into a beautiful memory. I hope this message reaches you — because you truly made an impact that we’ll remember for a long time.

We stayed at the hotel recently and overall, it was a pleasant experience with several highlights worth mentioning. I absolutely loved the outdoor bathtub and the thoughtful inclusion of a fan in the room — it made the space feel airy and comfortable. The room itself was spotless; I couldn’t find a trace of dust anywhere when I walked in, which I truly appreciate. The bathroom was also clean and dried quickly, which is a plus. The bed and pillows were another highlight. The mattress was really comfortable, and although the pillows were the longer type, they were fluffy and supportive. We also enjoyed the hotel’s location — many attractions, cafés, and shops were within walking distance. We even tried a nearby restaurant, The Grand Lebanon, and their Arayis Cheese was unforgettable. Night walks were enjoyable too, with fire shows and lively beachfront activities. The juices at breakfast were great as well, especially the tomato lassi and olive orange. We also tried the room service, and the portions were generous. However, there were several areas that could be improved. My biggest disappointment was the room view. We booked sea view rooms for all four families, but only one of the rooms actually had a true sea view. The rest were either blocked by large trees or had views of zinc roofs below. While I appreciate nature and don’t blame the trees at all, it was frustrating because we paid a higher rate specifically for a sea view — more than a few hundred ringgit difference. It might be more reasonable to rename certain room categories instead of labeling them all as “sea view.” The curtains could also be refreshed or cleaned more frequently, as they felt a bit sticky or dusty to the touch — perhaps due to sea air. We also noticed some lipstick stains on the wall when we checked in, so a bit more attention during housekeeping would go a long way. As for the food, it was just average and there wasn’t much variety. Since this hotel is under Marriott, I expected a bit more — perhaps smoked duck, salmon slices, or something a little more premium. The waffles tasted partially uncooked, and the dim sum and steamed buns also didn’t seem fully cooked. However, as mentioned, the juices were excellent. Despite the setbacks, we still enjoyed our stay overall. With a few improvements, especially in room view accuracy, housekeeping details, and breakfast quality, this hotel has the potential to offer an even better experience.

Such a relaxing and cozy stay! 🌴✨ The room was super spacious, clean and had that perfect beach vibe. Love the balcony area — peaceful and private 🌺 The service was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out 🙌🏻 The pool view was amazing 😍 and the location is unbeatable — just a short walk to the beach 🏖️ Perfect place to unwind and recharge. Definitely worth coming back again 💕

I stayed at Lone Pine for six days and have only good things to say about my experience. The sea facing room was spacious and comfortable and had direct sea views (albeit partially obscured by a tree). Service is easy going and efficient. The breakfast has something for everyone from fruits, cereals and cold/hot offerings. I liked the individual rooms for lounge/coffee, reception and open lobby feel. This isn’t a grand scale hotel, it feels more like being in a house by the beach. The location is nicely planted along Batu Ferringhi beach. I would certainly come back.

Stayed at Lone Pine Hotel for a short beach getaway. The hotel has a lovely, old-school charm with lots of greenery and a peaceful vibe. The room was clean, spacious, but insects n lizards can come in from the toilet windows It’s right by the beach, which made morning walks really enjoyable. Some staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. That said, there’s honestly not much to do around the hotel itself. If you’re looking for something fun, lively, or more activity-based, this might feel a bit too quiet. It’s great for resting, reading, and just doing nothing — which might be exactly what some people want! Overall, a good place to slow down and unwind. I wouldn’t mind coming back if I needed a break from the city.
