Fly your way with Etihad Airways

You can check in online from 30 hours before your flight and up to 60 mins prior to your scheduled time of departure. You can also check in at the airport up to 60 min prior to your departure time.

To check in online, please head over to the Etihad Airways official website and select the ‘Check-in’ tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2 under ‘Your Flights’. Please have the passport details of all the passengers you are checking in ready, and once you are in the booking, please follow the steps to complete the online check in. This will include completing Advance Passenger Information (API) for each traveller if this is required by the destination you are flying to.

Once you complete the online check-in process, you would be able to download or print your boarding passes. You can use a digital boarding pass at most of the airports Etihad operates from*. You can download multiple boarding passes to your device and save them to your Google or Apple Wallet for even simpler access.

It is also advised that guests download the Etihad App is available on iPhone and android. You can also check in using the App.

In some instances, Etihad Airways are unable to issue you with a boarding pass even if you have managed to check in online. This may be because digital boarding passes aren’t accepted at the airport you’re travelling from, or perhaps the airline would need to check your visa or travel documents at the airport. If you’re unable to download your boarding pass, the Etihad Airways team will be happy to help you at any of their check-in desks at the airport up to 60 mins prior to take off.

Select your seat* to get the one you want, and to avoid sitting separately from family or friends. You can select your seats* once your flights have been paid in full and they have been issued (ticketed).**

You can select your seats* via the Etihad Airways official website by selecting the ‘Manage’ tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2 under ‘Your Flights’. You can also select your seats during the online check in process.

In almost all cases, you will receive the seat that you’ve booked. However, there may be last-minute operational changes that mean Etihad Airways may need to allocate you a different seat. If this happens, the airline will always try to choose a similar seat for you. If you pay for a seat and are given a different seat type, you’re entitled to a refund by the airline of the fee you have paid to select your seat. All seats are subject to availability.

Airport Assistance: You can request airport assistance at least 72 hrs prior to your flight by logging into your flight booking on the airline’s website. Please head over to the Etihad Airways official website and select the ‘Manage’ tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2 under ‘Your Flights’. Once in the booking, please head over to ‘Quick Actions’ and click on ‘Update Contacts’. Scroll down to the Airport Assistance section and click on ‘Add airport assistance’. This will bring a list of all passengers on the booking. Please click on the passenger you would like to request assistance for and select the relevant option you require.

Mobility Aids: Mobility aids, such as canes, crutches and foldable walkers, and mobility assistive devices are permitted on board. You can carry mobility aids for free in addition to your checked or cabin baggage allowance. Devices must be no longer than 81cm and securely stowed before take-off and landing. If you’re travelling on any of the Etihad Airways’ widebody aircraft, you may be able to store your wheelchair, mobility aid or other assistive device in the onboard storage areas. Storage is available on a first come, first served basis, for items up to 33cm x 91cm x 106cm. Other mobility aids such as canes, crutches and foldable walkers can be stored in the overhead lockers. Mobility aids exceeding 33cm x 91cm x 106cm can be checked for free in addition to your standard baggage allowance. Assistive devices must meet all safety and security regulations. Due to weight or size, there may be circumstances where the device is not accepted on board. Please contact the airline* by emailing contactcentre@etihad.ae at least 72 hrs prior to take off to ensure your device can be carried and should you need further information.

Wheelchairs: You can bring your own wheelchair for free in addition to your checked baggage allowance. The height of the wheelchair should not exceed 120cm. Please contact the airline* at least 72 hours prior to take off via email on contactcentre@etihad.ae if your wheelchair does not meet these dimensions.

Battery powered wheelchairs / mobility scooters: All battery-powered wheelchairs and mobility aids require prior approval. Please contact the airline* at least 5 days prior to take off via email on contactcentre@etihad.ae to get authorisation to carry your battery powered wheelchair or mobility scooter. These will be accepted or not depending on type, dimensions, and battery type.

If your booking is eligible*, Etihad Airways offer a complimentary coach service to help you travel easily and quickly between Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport and Dubai. Just remember to book your Etihad Coach at least 24 hours prior to travel. Passengers without a confirmed advance coach reservation will not be accepted to use the service. Bookings made within 24 hours from flight departure will not be confirmed and will not be able to use this service.

If you are eligible, you can make a reservation by visiting the Etihad Airways official website and selecting the ‘Manage’ tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2 under ‘Your Flights’. The ‘Etihad Coach’ service will appear under the lead name and itinerary of the booking. Alternatively head over to ‘Other Services’ on the right hand-side. Please click on the Etihad Coach and if your booking is eligible for this service you will be able to reserve your tickets there. • From Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport: When you land in Abu Dhabi, follow the signs to Etihad Coach after clearing customs. Etihad Coaches are located at the lower level of arrivals.
• To and from Dubai: The Dubai pick up and drop off location is at the Al Wasl Centre, behind the Safestway Supermarket’s Sheikh Zayed Road entrance. Al Wasl Centre is located in the heart of Dubai and close to the city's major attractions. The trip takes about 75 minutes.

Etihad Coach services may be affected by adverse weather conditions and may be delayed or cancelled following directives from the government. If you are required to use alternative transport, you should arrange this at your own cost. Etihad will not be liable if you miss your flight due to these last-minute changes.

Etihad Chauffeur is a complimentary chauffeur service on flights both marketed and operated by Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi. The service is only available to guests flying in The Residence or First Class, or Business Class Comfort and Deluxe fares and you can travel in luxury between Zayed International Airport and your hotel in the UAE only.

*Eligibility - you’re welcome to use the Etihad Chauffeur service if you are travelling on an Etihad Airways marketed and operated flight in The Residence or First Class, or Business Class Comfort and Deluxe fares. Not all business class bookings include the complimentary chauffeur transfer. This is dependent on the type of business class fare booked – it must be Business Class Comfort or Business Class Deluxe fares. Therefore, if the complimentary chauffeur service is an important aspect to you for booking Business Class – please book your holiday with one of our Destination2 sales experts over the phone and check with them at the time of enquiry and before the booking is confirmed that you are definitely booking Business Class Comfort or Deluxe fare with the complimentary chauffeur service. This service is not applicable:

• For transfers between respective airport terminals
• For transfers in the UK or to/from any other international airports other than Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport.
• For bookings on flights operated by other airlines, where Etihad Airways is a marketing carrier.
• For bookings on flights operated by Etihad Airways, where other airlines are a marketing carrier.
• For unaccompanied minors (UM) or children between 2 and 12 years even if they are booked into The Residence or First Class, or Business Class Comfort and Deluxe fares.
• In any class if the flight ticket is booked using Etihad Guest Miles.
• If you purchase a cabin class upgrade at the airport before departure.
• If you do not pre-book your chauffeur service as below at least 12 hours prior to departure even if your booking is eligible.

You must pre-book your complimentary chauffeur at least 12 hours before your flight to or from Abu Dhabi. To book** you need to head over to the Etihad Airways official website and select the ‘Manage’ tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your travel vouchers and ticket documents from Destination2 under ‘Your Flights’. Click on the ‘Chauffeur’ box under the lead name and itinerary of the booking. Make sure you provide all requested details, including your contact number, address, city code and pick-up time on departure and arrival. Etihad Airways will send you a confirmation email when your request has been received

**If your booking is eligible for the service, you can pre book it via the Etihad website as above, but only once your flights have been issued (ticketed). Your flight tickets will be issued (ticketed) once they have been paid in full and in line with the ticketing deadline set out by Etihad Airways. If you wish your flight tickets to be issued (ticketed) earlier so you can pre-book your chauffeur service, please arrange the payment of your outstanding balance through the Destination2 website by selecting ‘Manage Bookings’. After the full payment has been made, please email customerservices@destination2.co.uk to request that your flight tickets be issued early, and please state that you understand and accept that once issued, your flight tickets become non-refundable.

Middle names are not required for travel, and therefore do not need to be on your booking. You can, however, add middle name(s) to the secure flight information (API) when completing your online check-in before departure. First and last names must match the identification documents being used for travel.

Additionally, if you have a hyphen or apostrophe in your name, in your booking and e-ticket the names will appear joined together as the airline reservation systems can't show the hyphen/apostrophe. The same happens with double-barrelled names or spaces between two names. Airport security and passport control staff are familiar with this and there is no need to worry about it.

If you entered multiple first names, or multiple family names for a passenger, it is entirely normal for the names on the ticket to be joined together, even if you had entered them separately when booking online. For example: If you entered Mr John Adam Smith when booking online, your ticket will show the name as SMITH/JOHNADAMMR. This is standard airline industry practice, and you will not experience any issues.
