This hotel is one of the "upper class" but does not meet expectations. There has been a lack of upkeep throughout the hotel. It needs a revamp to get up to date with a modern look. The private beach needs to be redone. The barrier of rocks caused moss to develop which does not look or feel welcoming. We ended up walking over to Store Bay. There is a public beach to the right of the hotel too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coco Reef Resort and Spa. When we first arrived, we were taken back by the beauty of the entranceway and views directly down to the beach. There are positives and some negatives we experienced, but overall, the kindness of the staff, the beautiful beach, and the convenient location, make it somewhere we would definitely stay again.. should we return to Tobago. Positives: - Great location - beautiful beach - very kind friendly staff - reasonable prices vs other resorts around the world - you’re in the hot carribean in a beautiful resort for half the price of Jamaica/Barbados at comparable resorts - breakfast included and was good - fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving options Downsides: - We arrived very tired from a long flight from Canada. The resort was very quiet and for sure 50% empty. We ended up arriving to the hotel around 11am, exhausted. I had previously emailed them about getting early check in, even very happy to pay for this. They said it would be no problem, and advised it would cost $100 (TT I think, or USD, either way would have been fine). In the end, they made us wait until exactly 3pm to check in. This was not necessary in my opinion. We did enjoy the pool and food while waiting, but we were dead tired and really needed a bed and shower. They should have been more empathetic to this - The ocean area they carved out for themselves did have a lot of moss or algae or whatever on our first day, making it not enjoyable in most areas. However, you can run areas without the moss. They did however do work on it and clean most of it up, and by our second day and the rest of the trip, the moss was 90% gone. We were able to enjoy the water, mostly moss free, for the rest of the trip. - dinner is overpriced. The salad was ridiculous, like one tiny portion of greens, and the shrimp starter was expensive for like 2 pieces of shrimp 😅. Anyways, we somewhat enjoyed our dinner experience there. This can be easily remedied however, by just eating in town which is two mins away, which we did for lunch and dinner basically every day. Summary: Great hotel and we would stay again, but I advise those coming to do your research and manage your expectations. You cannot expect a North American or Mexico style 5 star experience, in little Tobago. If you come ready for some great weather, great water, and a relaxed time in a place with kind people doing their best to cater to you… Tobago is your place. For us, we will be back, and stay at the Coco Reef again

We stayed here for 2 weeks as all inclusive. The entire staff were so welcoming and happy to please us. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself while quite old is very large and the amenities are quite nice for Tobago. We enjoyed the use of the gym, pool and the watersports equipment. Paddle boards, kayaks and snorkelling were always available and the enclosed lagoon is perfect for first timers. The variety of fish to see in and just out of the lagoon is amazing. The area where the resort is located has a large variety of shops, restaurants and night life. Adrian and Esther were always friendly and happy and genuinely interested in our satisfaction. We definitely will be back.

The private beach was full of algae and impossible to swim in. The rooms were not properly cleaned. The kettle was shorting. The water tank behind our room flooded put our porch and one of the bedrooms. Some of the staff were nice but some were very rude. I have been coming here for 15 years and sorry to say that this will be my last time. Way too expensive for what you are getting now.

Great selection of tasty gyros and other middle eastern dishes. Helpful staff and the choice to eat in or take away.
