Mixed bag of a hotel. The location is excellent, short walk to battery park and several subway stations, great food in the area. It's not as busy as midtown. Staff is really friendly/helpful and allowed me to check in 1.5 hours early. Significant drawbacks are the elevators and rooms. Room was pretty cramped and it was hard to lay out all my items for a 2 night stay. Stayed with a friend and there was only chair, so only one of us could sit down when brought food back to the hotel. Fridge is tiny and can only fit a few small drinks. Shower was inconsistent and would not always have hot water. On my second night the A/C was not working well and I had difficulty sleeping because the room was so hot. The elevators, as others have mentioned here, are pretty slow. But I usually waited 1-4 minutes for the elevators and never 10+ minutes as others have mentioned. I don't regret staying here and the price was reasonable for Manhattan but I would probably look elsewhere on the next visit.

Recently stayed a night at this hotel and upon arrival was greeted with a long check in line and long line for the elevators. The staff was kind and rooms were nice enough for a Manhattan hotel room, but the lack of elevators are enough to make me not stay there again and to not recommend. With over 40 floors and 3 elevators, getting an elevator to even stop at your floor is a struggle. Never in my life have I witnessed such a process to get a hotel elevator! I feel bad for the poor staff getting between floors because it’s a nightmare. My boyfriend and I ended up walking down 30 floors on our way out since we waited over 10 minutes and nothing…feel bad for anyone with luggage, small children, the elderly or anyone with a health condition because good luck. Glad I only had a one stay because dealing with the elevators any longer would make me lose my mind.

The reason I'm giving this hotel two stars instead of one is because the staff is very kind and attentive. HOWEVER, if you stay here, you will need to plan an extra 20-30 minutes every time you go anywhere to wait for the elevator. Also, be aware that there is NO PARKING. So if you're driving your vehicle into the city, you should find another hotel. And don't plan to shower here, unless you like your shower to be very cold. That is all.

I was worried about the elevators after reading reviews, but honestly it barely affected us. They got a little crowded and you had to wait a few minutes, but it was worth it for a nice, clean room in a great location near the subway. The rooms are great and quite large for NYC. The beds were super comfortable. I want to buy the pillows for my own house!

Only 2 elevators for 44 floors… easily a 7-10 minute wait every time you need to get up or down. If you are here on holiday and don’t care about wasting your time, maybe you won’t mind it. If you’re a business traveler, beware.
Very thin walls and a lot of rooms have connecting doors to the adjacent room. You can hear a pen drop… I had the pleasure of listening to my neighbor call everyone he knows on speaker phone until midnight.
However, the staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. This hotel simply has some significant design problems.
