This was a bit of a splurge but I was a solo traveler arriving by train to Kyoto station in the late evening and wanted something close to the station. It is actually in the station so location was great for day trips and commuting in general. The room was 3 times the size of my Tokyo hotel room. And the absolute nicest staff that I encountered during my Japan trip. Very worth the splurge for the room, service and location.

Omg I was thrown by how amazing this hotel is. Worth every penny and not even the most expensive place in town by a long shot. They’ll take your bags a couple of days before you check in so get a delivery service to send them over for you. They’ll deliver to your room! They’ll also keep your bags for a couple of days after you check out! Amazing service.
I’m in a two-twin bed room and it’s a good size, not tiny like I keep hearing about. Really nice amenities, you can leave your shampoo, face wash, and even your toothbrush at home. Fridge and safe, coffee and tea in room.
Workout room and pool available for a fee although I didn’t bother since I’m walking a lot. Go for the big buffet breakfast tho! Incredible!

The family room was very spacious and loved the double sinks! Very disappointing to find out that they charge 1,100 Yen per person to access the gym / swimming pool. I don’t swim but enjoy going to gym daily, the gym is very small so really didn’t feel worth the cost. This is on top of tourist tax and parking etc.

We recently stayed 3 nights here, and loved every minute of it. The room was spacious and luxurious, with a big comfortable bed and modern elegant furnishings. The bathroom was big as well, with a nice shower, and everything was immaculately clean. We had a neat view of the shinkansen platforms, which will entertain the rail buffs out there.
Front desk staff were warm and welcoming. Elevators were fast and efficient. An excellent breakfast buffet was included with the room rate -- as with most Japanese hotel breakfasts, the Asian food tended to outshine the Western food (Japanese scrambled eggs are often kind of soupy, bacon is usually not browned very much nor crispy, and the sausages are not the typical breakfast sausages that Americans are used to). The coffee/espresso machines are a godsend!
Of course, one of the major highlights of staying here is being right in the heart of Kyoto Station, for the convenience of being right in the transit heart of the city, for the amazing shopping, and for the eye-popping architecture. You could seriously spend a whole day just in the station and not get bored.
I'm so glad we stayed here -- it was absolutely worth the price!

Beautiful hotel in the action area of the train station. It was fun to conveniently walk around the train station. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help with an outgoing international phone call. We always received smiles and there was a general feeling they were there to ensure a pleasant stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of options. And better yet was the Club level complimentary tea and social hours. Nice to have something quickly available when returning from site-seeing/getting ready to go out. The club level rooms were spacious (we had one king bed) The location is great for travel but not within walking distance to downtown area with majority of restaurants. We ate in the food court area of Kyoto Tower which was a fun, bustling experience.
