My very first time in Maldives and I was having a blast with my partner.
The shower gel in our room is diluted with water.. we ordered 2 pizzas and an hour later it weren’t there still… later in the evening we went to M6M restaurant and I ordered medium rare steak and the steak was so chewy and hard, couldn’t even cut it with knife.
I’ve been ignoring all those small details as everybody makes mistakes and I don’t really complain and write bad reviews, until on my last day - I saw what they do with the sparkling water. Half glass of schweppes soda and top it up with filtered water. That’s why I couldn’t taste the bubbles, I thought I was having a high standard of water back home, but I kept quiet all the time still.
Since I saw that, I told them I want the whole can of soda. TWICE. But they kept serving me the same thing. Until one of the server who knows me exchanged it to a proper soda water.
Cut story short, I knew its gonna be my last few hours before saying goodbye to my partner and I won’t be seeing him for the next 2,5weeks - so we ordered room service 3hrs before my departure from the island from our butler and advised him to let us know the ETA of food. An hour later, he gave us an excuse bc chicken satay needs sometime to prepare after being asked where’s the food, 1,5hrs later the food hasn’t even arrived. There is a reason why we ordered room service is bc we wanted to spend time together before I leave, but now we literally had to waste our time to wait for the room service and had to go to another restaurant.
Was expecting to see our butler to send me off and apologies for the inconvenience caused, he wasn’t even there let alone replying to my message.
Its ridiculous. Really bad customer service.
Literally ruined my whole week of great time. Definitely not coming back to this resort.

🐬We came to Ozen Life to celebrate my father's birthday as well as Chinese New Year. 🐍 Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly. Mr. Forty was our Butler. He made everything easy for us and arranged heartwarming surprises for my dad. Best Butler ever!
There were a few bars and restaurants on the island. Our favorite was Peking Chinese restaurant. Chef Zhou made delicious authentic Chinese food for us. It was so good, we went back the next night. Chef Zhou took the time to recommend different dishes. He also shared a lot of valuable insights about life in the Maldives. He was kind, humble, and needless to say, a fantastic chef! I've lived on 4 continents. Chef Zhou's Chinese food was definitely top notch world class. 🤤 Mr. Munnu from the Indian restaurant knew we liked lentil soup, so he made sure to bring us some even when it wasn't on display at the buffet, so thoughtful of him. Yummy!
Nita, Siri, Ahil and other restaurant staff were so good to us. We remembered Nita, Siri and Ahil specifically because they had gorgeous smiles.
Sheshkanta kept our room spotlessly clean and restocked whatever we needed everyday. He was always so energetic and jolly when we met him. He was also a wonderful artist.
GM Elizabeth kindly helped my mum when my mum fell. She also wrote a sweet farewell card and came to see us off at the jetty.
Our favorite activity was the sunset cruise, mainly because we got really lucky and saw pods of spinner dolphins.
I've been to the Maldives before. My days in Ozen Life were truly special. We would be delighted to revisit in the future.

We stayed at this resort in the South Male Atoll for two nights in October 2024. We liked the top-class cuisine and the 5-star all-inclusive and sorely missed a house reef.
The dense greenery on the beach of the 100-metre-wide and 800-metre-long island hides 36 Earth Villas and ten two-bedroom Earth Pool Pavilions with large private pools. 48 overwater villas are enthroned above the lagoon. The beach villas are close together, but are separated from each other by high walls and tall beach napau bushes.
If the wind blows too hard, the two daily snorkelling cruises are cancelled. It's a shame that, like on many neighbouring islands on the southeastern edge of the South Male Atoll, there is no reef accessible from the beach that is attractive for snorkelling.
If you want to observe reef fish without getting wet, book a table at ‘Minus 6 Meters.’ Six metres below the surface of the sea, you can feast your eyes on the fish during the seven-course menu with wine pairing.
The ‘Lonu’ invites you to a culinary journey through Maldivian cuisine with a set menu: tuna carpaccio with edamame and avocado; fish salad with kopee faiy (local leafy cabbage); mas pai spiced rice with fish. Light rosé wines and mocktails such as grassy ginger with lots of ginger, lemongrass and lime juice are served with these dishes.
Over by the lagoon, Tradition Peking tempts diners with dishes from the Beijing, Sichuan, Cantonese and Hunan cuisines. These include crab with tofu, twice-cooked pork belly in hoisin sauce and mapo tofu, all perfectly seasoned and beautifully spicy.
‘Ozen Life Maadhoo’ calls its luxury all-inclusive variant “Indulgence Plan”: this includes many activities such as non-motorised water sports, dine-around in the invariably excellent restaurants, as well as high-quality drinks and wines. Those who book a minimum of four nights can enjoy additional benefits such as a table at “M6M” or a free 60-minute SPA treatment.
The ‘Ozen Life Maadhho’ offers a selection of the best single malts, over 75 types of gin from renowned distilleries, several types of champagne and fine wines from France, Italy and the New World. The villa's mini-bar is restocked daily with Segafredo espresso, tea, beer, wine and soft drinks, as well as nuts and cashews. Those who succumb to the temptation of all these delicacies and fear for their sultry sunset figure can save themselves by going to the well-equipped gym above the water, to the floodlit tennis court or to the pool, which is also good for athletic lengths at around 20 metres, for a strength training session.
Location: Just 35 minutes by air-conditioned speedboat (transfers included in the room price) from Male Airport, which will open its new, chic and modern terminal at the end of 2024.

We recently stayed at Ozen Life, and it was an exceptional experience. The resort's breathtaking design and luxurious amenities were truly impressive. The dining options were outstanding, especially with the surprise à la carte menu curated by Chef Alok and Shayam for one evening. A special thank you to Chef Alok for the incredible food, Shayam for the wonderful arrangements, and Maria and the team for their excellent service. Chef Anil’s desserts were mouthwatering, and Chef Sanny’s attentiveness was greatly appreciated. The water villas provided stunning views, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The combination of high-end amenities, exquisite design, pristine beaches, and clear waters contributed to a truly heavenly atmosphere.
