Stayed a night at SO/ Maldives in the Water Villa with Pool and it was a great experience. The villa was stunning, super cozy, private, and had an incredible view. Our Guest Experience Maker, Sue, was amazing. She went above and beyond for us and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. We also had dinner at Hadaba and loved the food, everything was fresh and full of flavor. Overall, such a great escape. Wish we stayed longer!

Our recent stay at SO/ Maldives in the Ocean Water Pool Villa was absolutely unforgettable. The villa was spacious, elegantly designed, and offered stunning panoramic views of the turquoise ocean. The private pool was perfect for relaxing while enjoying the serene surroundings. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and stepping directly onto the water from our villa was pure magic. The resort’s service was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and always going the extra mile to make our stay special. Dining options at their resturants were excellent, offering a delightful mix of international and local flavors. Overall, the Ocean Water Pool Villa provides a luxurious, tranquil, and memorable experience — perfect for couples seeking a serene Maldivian escape. Ms. Sue is an exceptionally professional and attentive Guest Services Coordinator. She is friendly, approachable, and quick to resolve any requests, always ensuring a smooth and seamless experience. Her attention to detail, ability to remember guest preferences, and excellent communication skills made us feel very comfortable, well-informed, and truly cared for, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout their stay. We truly enjoyed our stay at SO/ Maldives — from the stunning villas to the impeccable service, every moment was unforgettable.

This is one of the most beautiful island hotels I have ever stayed at. The facilities in the room are very complete, including snorkeling equipment for the swimming pool. The sea water is also very clear. There are three restaurants on the island, each with a different flavor, and all are very delicious. Riding a bicycle by the seaside and enjoying the breeze is very comfortable. The butler Sue takes care of us every day. She can solve any of my needs in time and also helps us sign up for a cooking demo activity, which is about making dumplings. It's very interesting. The only downside of this trip is that it rained heavily for the first two days, and the waves on the sea were very big, making snorkeling quite difficult. But on the third day when it was sunny, the island was still very beautiful. I will definitely come again if I have the chance!

We booked 5 days in an over the ocean villa. The whole experience was detail oriented and executed to perfection. From pick up at the airport, through accommodating us the entirety of our stay, to returning and assisting us through the airport, our every need was anticipated and planned for. Our GEM, Ahsan, was thorough, friendly and so very helpful. Luna and Naim were two of the many staff members who provided excellent service at the island restaurants. The bartender at the dock was top notch as well! Our villa was immaculate. Clean, beautifully appointed and well stocked. The room attendants kept everything tidy and replenished daily. I have never experienced a more relaxing and serene vacation than I had at SO/Maldives. In addition there was constant communication/reminders leading up to our arrival that helped know what to expect. I highly recommend this resort for its level of hospitality and comfort!

We visited for our babymoon, and though the weather was not great during our stay, we were pleased with the hotel. Some points to highlight below: Maria, our main client representative, was fabulous - she responded to every request within a minute and never kept us waiting or wanting for anything. She is super - and a real asset to the hotel. Thanks Maria. Wiz from the hotel booking team was lovely and accommodating - he helped us get our requests and booking dates in order. He was truly patient and very efficient. Thanks Wiz. The hotel rooms are stunning, very modern and with lovely blue hues of water just outside. The functionality and comfort were wonderful. Some areas for improvement below: - We were surprised by the standard of the housekeeping. It simply isn’t up to scratch. Sheets were not properly replaced when we checked in (Maria more than made up for this by apologies and gifting us wine), but we noticed even day to day cleaning was not as thorough as other top resorts in Maldives. Some dirty towels were not replaced, and it seemed to have been a quick tidy up rather than a proper cleaning each day. Fine for a turndown; but not fine for the morning clean. F&B prices are simply extortionate, even for Maldives. We have stayed in more expensive resorts and paid less even though those were a seaplane away. SO/ being a 15 min boat ride away should be considerably better priced. For instance, a chicken breast main delivered to the room shouldn’t be 90 USD pre 27% tax. Just makes no sense. The staff in the hotel were overall pleasant, but we did come across 2-3 staff members who were slightly cold and unfriendly. Despite us making conversation, they were somewhat irritable. Service was hit or miss - either a 10/10 or a 3/10 depending on the day. As a final point - the lagoon villas overlooking Male are really not great - Male appears close by and it really breaks the feeling of seclusion etc one seeks out in Maldives. We were thankful and relieved to have been in an Ocean Villa, but would recommend that nobody opts for the Lagoon ones.
