A stunning hotel with fantastic decor and good staff... BUT:
A bit tricky to get to from Osaka station.
Executive lounge not available for breakfast, and very odd opening hours generally.
Gym facilities woeful.
No food - of any description - after 20.30 - including room service. But you CAN have a leg massage at 3.0am!
Breakfast was a dog's dinner. Poorly laid-out. Families with (noisy) young children seated next to quiet tables. No coffee machine available for guests' use, etc. etc.
Excellent smoking room closed after 22.00. Apparently because of the risk of fire!
No Concierge desk staffed before 11.0am - to be fair, the Concierge was very good when he was there.

Stayed in The Westin for 5 nights in the end of our holiday in Japan and it’s was a really good experience. Room is big, can fit all the shopping, nice view, shower cabin and bathtub. Our room was fully renovated, really comfortable two double beds. About 13 min walk to the subway or hotel provides a shuttle bus every 30 min.
Really nothing to complain about.

A little too regal for my taste. They gave me a room upgrade, which was just a room with two beds, but I was just one person. Staff were friendly and service-oriented. Nice views of Osaka. The room was reserved using Marriott rewards points, but I did not have access to the lounges because the family member using their points wasn't staying there and had only reserved the room for me. Other Marriotts have allowed me to use all of the services in spite of this, but not this location. I understand, but appreciate those other locations more for the small benefits gained from access to lounges and such.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. I did knock off 2 stars mainly for the reason that it showed on the Marriott app that it had a pool as we were traveling with our 2 teenage boys and this is one of the things that was important to us. Upon check in we were told that there would be a charge to use the pool. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and have never been charged to use the pool before. We compromised location for pool access and in the end were disappointed.
If you are looking for a beautiful hotel, excellent service but not much close by than this is for you. If you are a tourist and want easy access to transportation for touring around then you are better off looking for something in a better location.

My husband and I are staying at this hotel for the first time and have really enjoyed it. More than anything, the customer service is amazing. Every single Westin employee greets us, is extremely accommodating and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about the people who work here in every dept - front desk, concierge, breakfast service, club lounge, housekeeping. Specifically, Shinabe in the club lounge who assisted us with dinner reservations.
As a platinum member, our room was upgraded to an amazing view of the Umeda Sky Building, we received complimentary breakfast, club lounge access (tea time & cocktail hr), + 600¥ F&B credit. The location is ideal (15 min walk to Osaka Station) for quick transit and plenty of shopping.
