After breakfast, immerse yourself in the historical significance of downtown Amman with a 2-hour tour of the capital city. Discover remnants of the past all around, visiting sites such as the Archaeological Museum, the Folklore Museum, the Citadel, and the Amphitheatre. Next, you will head towards Wadi Musa via the King’s Highway, making two unmissable stops along the way. The first is the ancient city of Madaba, renowned for the oldest known geographic floor mosaic in art history, dating back to the 6th century. Admire the intricate Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics in St George’s Church before departing 10km west to Mount Nebo, an elevated ridge overlooking Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, the West Bank and Jerusalem. This impressive mountain holds significance from the Old Testament, being the place where Moses was said to have lived out his final days after setting eyes on the Promised Land. Finally, you will arrive in Petra where you will spend the night.

Today, you will embark on an unforgettable journey around one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. After breakfast, you’ll begin your Petra adventure, making your way down the Siq, a kilometre-long narrow gorge with 80-metre high cliffs on either side, towards the historic desert city. On reaching the end, you’ll discover the imposing sight of ancient buildings half carved into the rock. Marvel at the stunning colours, elaborate architecture and colonnaded streets, with highlights including The Treasury, the Royal Tombs and Qasr al-Bint temple. At the end of this unforgettable excursion, it’s time to head back to your Petra accommodation for the night.

You’ll get to explore the so-called ‘Valley of the Moon’ on an exhilarating 2-hour jeep ride, taking in the jaw-dropping scenery of the rugged Jordanian desert. After this intoxicating experience, it’s time to depart to the lowest point on Earth - the Dead Sea. Located 427 metres below sea level in the Jordan Valley, this phenomenal natural wonder is the world’s richest source of natural salts.
