You will begin your Jordan in Brief tour at Queen Alia International Airport, where you will be met and assisted by tour representatives and transferred to your Amman hotel for check-in.
Overnight stay in Amman (as per flight time)
After breakfast you’ll start the day with a tour of downtown Amman, visiting sites including the Archeological Museum, the Folklore Museum, the Citadel, and the Amphitheatre (museums closed on Tuesday). Following a fascinating insight into the history of Jordan’s beguiling capital city, the ancient Roman city of Jerash awaits. One of the best preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world, it features Hadrian’s Arch gateway, the temples of Artemis and Zeus, the Nymphaeum fountain and the Hippodrome arena. The site also includes paved and colonnaded streets, public squares and a grand roman theatre.

On finishing breakfast you’ll depart Amman on your way to Wadi Musa and the ancient city of Petra. Your journey along the King’s Highway will see you make a number of stops, with the first being in the city of Madaba. Here you’ll visit St George’s Church, home of a stunning 6th century Byzantine mosaic map showing all the major religious sites of the Middle East, from Palestine to Egypt. Mount Nebo provides a scenic spot for your next stop. The place where Moses is said to have caught a glimpse of the promised land offers breathtaking views across Jordan, the Dead Sea, the West Bank and Jerusalem. Your last stop for the day is Petra.

The ancient city of Petra is your destination after breakfast. One of the new Seven Wonders of the World, this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site is an absolute joy to behold. To reach the city you have to enter through a 1km narrow canyon with 80m high cliffs on either side. On reaching the end you are greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of The Treasury, followed by a host of other elaborate structures carved into the rock, including temples, a theatre, colonnaded street and a number of tombs.

Following breakfast, you’ll head out on a two-hour Bedouin jeep tour of Wadi Rum, taking in the spellbinding desert scenery that has been used as a backdrop in many a movie and described as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, by T.E. Lawrence. After experiencing the rugged beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll continue your journey to the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea awaits after breakfast, with a free morning for you to discover the delights of this incredible natural wonder, which at 427 metres below sea level is the lowest point on earth. Enjoy a dip in the mineral-rich waters and take advantage of the rejuvenating black mud to be found in this serene body of water.
