It’s a very basic hotel but priced as a resort. The location is great but you can hardly enjoy the beach because there is some construction work happening and lots of people setting up tents and all. Stray dogs are coming inside the hotel premises. Rooms are okay but the hotel lacks clean look. The furniture looks old, torn and musty. Food was good.
Itchy Feet Foodies
Hotel in great spot right on the beach. We used this hotel as an overnight hotel on our way to Maldives and also as the starting point for our tour around Sri Lanka. There are two pools and direct access to the beach at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are a little dated but clean and have views of the beach. The buffet breakfast and dinners were very good and snacks were available from the bar menu. All of the staff were great and they let us store some luggage there whilst we were in the Maldives. Lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance also. Patchy weak wifi.

We got a room in an old part of the building. Next to the main road, sounds like the cars are driving through the room. The hotel meeds a lot of maintenance and attention. All the other hotels we had in Sri Lanka were much nicer. Would not book here anymore.

The food is the best I've tasted in a long time. You wouldn't get a spread like the main stream hotels but what's made is fresh and flavourful. Had all the varieties of seafood so you don't miss much. Looking forward to going there again.

We had a lovely 10 days at Goldi sands from 18/April . ALL the staff were friendly and helpful and I was surprised with both balloons in our room on arrival and a birthday cake at dinner for my 70th birthday. We have no complaints at all other than maybe a bit of updating in the room needed. But they were spotlessly clean.. Also we have to praise our tour guide Sudarshan who went out of his way to make our stay in Sri Lanka so special. We highly recommend him.
