It’s my first time to Vietnam. Fortunately, I choose L’alya. The stunning view and the friendly staff. I especially thank Anh for helping me remove the king-size gecko in our villa. My fiancee and I like the cuisine like spring rolls, Vietnamese coffee and Big my rib. I will recommend L’alya to my friends and family. I will come back soon~

On my first day here, I could not wait to leave! By the 30th hour, I was counting down the hour when I can leave this place. Why? This hotel was extremely uncomfortable with the suffocating heat of the bedroom; the rest of the villa was completely useless because only the bedroom was air conditioned. We first got to the hilltop unit, which was ungodly hot: we arrived at 2 pm and had waited for several hours and the bedroom was still hot when the air con was set at the lowest temperature of 16 degrees. Then when I complained, the duty manager, Anh, and the butler, An, moved us to the lagoon room: at first, it felt fine, we walked into the room and it was “cooler,” at 5 pm. But during the day, from 11 am to 5 pm, when the heat is scorching hot in this part of the world, we could not do anything in the bedroom, because the air con was not cool enough for the afternoon heat. And we could not do anything else at the resort: the pool water was too warm to swim in and the living spaces in the villa was unbearably hot to hangout. Why was it so hot in the bedroom with the air con set at the lowest temperature? The room must have been designed by some 4th grader who used the lowest quality doors and windows (single pane windows), but mainly they left too many big gaps (at least 1 to 1.5 inches around!) between the doors so that hot air was flowing into the room and cold air was flowing out. I noted this to the employees, but three of them tried to convince me that it was because of the hot temperature outside. That was very insulting: hotel staff should know that guests are smart people and we have travelled to many different hotels and many different parts of the world. I have been to 97 countries and have stayed in more than 400 luxury resorts in the past 30 years in Africa, Latin America, and all-over Southeast Asia, and have never, and I mean never ever, experienced this level of discomfort at a luxury hotel. I travel six months a year, and currently going through Vietnam, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil, and parts of Eastern Europe. Had they simply admit that the rooms were designed poorly, I would have had more respect and would have been less annoyed. Our afternoons at this hotel were completely wasted trying to stay sane from the heat. I took a cold shower every 30 minutes. Beyond this: the very sad pathetic gym did not have a fridge to store cold water so the water in there was almost at boiling temperature; there was no seating furniture in the bedrooms, and yet you couldn’t hang out in the living room because of the heat; the landscaping is a total mess, dirty and the vegetation were obviously not pruned. All of this means the hotel is not really a five-star resort, but just a notch above camping. Some dining service staff were inexperienced and soulless, really not up to standards with a luxury place. Prices of food were fine, although many people think it is expensive. The quality was average, not terrible, not excellent. Overall, we were highly disappointed in our stay. The two stars are for the staff but zero star for the overall experience. Please read all the negative honest reviews before booking so that you can have low expectations: some of the other reviewers also noted how the hotel was miserably hot, and one person even said the landscape is "ugly." I am so happy writing this from my $20 a night room in Nha Trang city, where there are no gaps on my door and windows, and the air con is ice cold! L’alya should feel ashamed and humiliated for miscalling themselves “luxury,” as they are far from it.

My girlfriend and I spent 4 days and 3 nights in L'lalya last November and had an amazing experience. The hotel had a very relaxed and chill atmosphere. What I liked most here was the service. Our butler was extremely enthusiastic, he was ready to fulfill all our requests. On this trip, I proposed to my girlfriend with a romantic dinner by the beach and it was successful. I am very grateful to our butler for the support!

L’ayla is a 20 minutes private boat ride across the Bay. Settle in and enjoy the good life! As soon as you hit the reception area — the magic starts with astounding villas, top notch service, garden fresh food all coordinated by a private butler. Not to mention private plunge pools, beach swings, kayaks, chickens, and an occasional monkey. It sounds all so over the top, but it is real, and wonderful and unforgettable. Five stars all around!
