The hotel is starting to show its age. The rooms are a bit dated.
But the facilities are amazing.
I had to take care of my toddler while wife was at a conference.
Over 5 days and 4 nights, I had the best time. So many activities to do with the little one.
Never needed to leave the resort.

This hotel is super duper kid friendly. Got an upgrade and got the family room where the kids got bunk beds, a tv and a little table and bench. The toilet is amazing with stool and kid friendly toiletries as well. It was my son's birthday, they gave a cake as well. Overall the room is nice and spacious although a little bit dusty. But love love the breakfast spread and the facilities. Come and experience it yourself!

Beautiful resort on Tanjung Aru. Really nice resort style. Rooms may be a bit dated but comfortable. We stayed in the sea facing suite and it was impeccable. Front desk is responsive and resolves issues quickly and efficiently. Really thumbs up - one of the best service I have ever gotten. Ground facilities are plentiful and well updated and maintained. The charm of the place is in its people - staff are all well motivated and helpful. Really pleasant stay overall. Not to miss is the sunset view - no wonder people flock here just for it.

My wife and I had a wonderful 4night 5 day vacation at this fantastic resort. Our last trip here was 30y back during the resort's early years. The room may looked aged now but is still wonderfully maintained and clean. But what's truly wonderful is the service staff across the resort..from reception to dining to activities. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, cheerful and made us feel welcomed. Here's a shout out to the Coco Jo Grill manager Kenny and staff and to Brandon of StarMarina. We have stayed at quite a few Shangri La's but this is probably the one where staff service level is so consistently high across the resort. The hotel location is fantastic with proximity to city, airport and the Marien Park. Thank you for a great stay. Hope to be back soon to an upgraded and renovated property,
