Based on value for the price paid I gave The Marker 5 stars. Stayed here for a conference and it was a mid Range price (below $300) compared to other options. Room was great but small. I had a queen. Bed was firm. TV, desk and small chair were all adequate. Water was hot and good water pressure. Daily housekeeping service was good. Front desk folks very friendly and I had excellent customer service checking in (730 pm) and out (430 AM). I barely opened the front door as the bellman always got to it first. Complimentary coffee and tea at Tratto (restaurant adjacent to hotel) was a nice perk. No coffee maker in room but I much prefer fresh coffee so I was pleased. Tratto was okay. I enjoyed a pizza one night. Good bartender with some fun drink options. It’s pricey but a nice option if you don’t want to walk, uber or door dash dinner. Bartender said they may be making some updates/changes soon. Room had fridge. Trader Joe’s close by so I stocked up on some snacks and grabbed sandwiches each day to take to Moscone center. Short walk to Union Square and cable car. Around 15-20 min to Moscone Center which I did not mind at all. Weather was generally very nice! Homeless is an issue all over SF. Marker does a nice job keeping the area around their space tidy.

We had an amazing stay during our 5 days girls’ trip. The staff is very accommodating and welcoming. The area is good too - we felt safe there. Very close to the main landmarks and attractions. I would recommend to stay there. The only downside that has nothing to do with the hotel - find place for breakfast outside the restaurant that adjacent to the hotel - pricey and unwelcoming bartender (for the money they charge it’s is completely unacceptable). There are a lot of nice breakfast places around the block.

Receptionist very welcoming, requested my sister be nearby and she was across the the hall. Room quiet, comfortable bed, enjoyed complimentary glass of wine, good location for out travel plans. Lobby outstanding, ❤️ corners to sit in, Comfortable chairs, lots of plugs to recharge phone, space for alone time from family in am. Food excellent @ hotel restaurant Tratto.

Stayed 4 nights because of a work conference at a nearby hotel. The conference hotel price was $375/night but at the Marker, it was $137/night!! It was only a one block distance. The Marker is a very unique hotel...not the typical boring brown/beige colors but beautiful colors in the hallway and in the rooms. There's a huge mirror in the hotel room, so it was convenient when getting ready for my conference. In the bathroom, the lighting was very bright compared to most hotel rooms, made it so much easier to put on make up! The staff were very pleasant! Loved my stay overall!! They have a decent fitness room. Best of all, if you need to print something, they have a Mac and printer that actually work! I stayed at a Sheraton recently that had 2 printers that did not work and 2 computers that kept freezing...the staff there had to print for me on their work computers, which also were super slow. But at the Marker, printing was a BREEZE! It feels like the hotel actually invests in conveniences that matter for people who travel. When in the future I'm back in town, I would definitely stay here again and will highly recommend to all my friends/colleagues. I feel like the pictures of the rooms initially worried me with all the bright colors but it looks so cute in real life. Pictures don't do it justice.

I had just returned home from a trip to San Francisco where my friends and I stayed at The marker in Union Square. I had such a great time beautiful hotel my favorite spot is by the big fireplace. Such friendly staff. The front office manager Steven was such a delight and come to find out he was also from Florida. It really is a small world meeting someone from my home state all the way across the country! He did everything he could to accommodate us and gave us suggestions for things to see and he was just such a pleasant and professional person.
