An amazing resort just at the beachfront. The place has a good architecture with a vernacular setting.
The service is good and staff is very polite and welcoming. Views to the sea are great from every room. Their breakfast is one of the best ones with very good restaurant and sitting space. There are a couple of activities to do within the resort. Recommended for a good stay in Phuket.

We were put in a room where the ventilation just did not work. there was condensation all over the floor to the point that it was slippery to walk on. The furnishings were also very old.
We asked if we could PAY for an upgrade but the concierge did not even bother checking and just told us they were full. Even though I can see multiple rooms available for booking online for the next couple of days. They put us in another similar room on the other side of the building that was for their members, it's slightly newer but not very different. But at least the air conditioning works.
Overall the hotel is quite dated and feels nowhere near a 5 star property that it claims to be.

A Luxurious Beachfront Resort
Dusit Thani Laguna, Phuket is like heaven just on the beach. We spent two nights there in the month of October’24. The lounge and reception area were vast and very cozy. They welcomed us with authentic Thai hospitality and helped us a lot to get early check in which was much needed after an overnight journey. We were at sea view room, very spacious with a balcony overlooking the sea. Room was very well maintained, with all modern facilities, bath amenities and a bathtub. They have a fantastic beachfront restaurant from where you can enjoy spectacular sunset in Andaman sea. The restaurant also arranges live music at night… overall ambience was super cool and romantic. The lawn was vast with a large pool. Evening views of the resort were just amazing. The breakfast spread was good though Indian and vegetarian options were relatively less. Overall is a very luxurious beachfront resort for vacations of any purpose.

I was very impressed with our 8 nights at the Dusit Thani, contrary to the rather disappointing reviews posted here.
The hotel is low-rise, open to the air, and with access to the beach. Built in 1987 it's still got the original charm, with rooms on the ground, first and second floors. When we stayed they were re-roofing the lobby and replacing the glazing, and also redoing the Laguna Cafe, which was the only restaurant closed during our visit.
Service was impeccable. Rooms were clean and kept clean throughout our stay. Pool was surrounded by new pool chairs (except a few older ones in the corners) and the towels were fresh and new. For pool service there were buttons to press, and you brought glass water bottles from your room.
Breakfast and all restaurants were superb and the prices were well in line with other places down the beach.
Bathroom was small, even when we stayed in the Landmark Suite, but had everything we needed.
You're at the edge of the Laguna development (made by the Banyan Tree Group) but there's a small shopping centre close by with an ATM and a supermarket, and the real village is about 15 minutes walk away. If you walk left down the beach you get to the public beach and the massage, bars, restaurants and beach clubs.
Yes, there is building work ongoing on the beach side, just on the North end of the hotel. The Angsara is building a new restaurant which should be finished pretty soon. From the hotel itself we heard nothing.
For sure will go back!

The service was 10 out of 10 however the rooms were not as advertised. We originally booked the villa which was advertised almost like a single level villa. However it was three levels with the pool at the top the kitchen and lounge room in the middle and the bedrooms on the bottom floor, which was quite inconvenient, especially travelling with a toddler. We then requested to move to a smaller room so we moved to the landmark suite which was nicer for us compared to the villa. However the lighting was very poor. The room had ants in the bathroom and the decor was very outdated. Again, it did not look like the pictures on the website. I personally wouldn’t say that this is a five star hotel as I have previously stayed at five star hotels and this wasn’t exactly aligned with five star expectations. The service is truly great and the staff are very accomodating but this and the view is what stood out for me. The pool is average and needs some updates as do the sunbeds that have holes in them and are torn. I don’t believe that this hotel should be advertised as 5 star until renovations are finished and furniture is updated. I probably wouldn’t stay here again which I feel horrible writing because the staff were so great. Thank you to the accommodating staff for their services, we really appreciate it.
