I ended up leaving on the second day, even though I had already paid in full for a non-refundable 6-day stay. If there had been any other option, I would have left the very first day, but the limited boat transfer schedule made it impossible! Absolutely terrible experience! The room was full of insects and ants, and I even found spiders in the bed. The sheets were dirty, and the buffet food had ants crawling on it. The service was awful—this hotel is nowhere near 5-star quality. If you’re planning a relaxing getaway, avoid this place at all costs. It’s overpriced, and the management is unhelpful and indifferent to complaints. There’s nothing to do nearby, so you’re forced into their overpriced services—even basic things like ice come with extra charges. The excuse of having trees and nature around does not justify poor hygiene and lack of cleanliness. The furniture is outdated, and the floors are cracked and need urgent repair. Truly a terrible experience!

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai is truly breathtaking. The entire resort is beautifully crafted out of wood, giving it an authentic and luxurious feel. Our room had a stunning view of both the ocean and the surrounding mountains — absolutely unforgettable. The villa was spacious, elegantly designed, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptional — attentive, warm, and always ready to make our stay perfect. The food was delicious, with a fantastic breakfast spread and great dining options. The peaceful, secluded location makes it the perfect escape to relax and enjoy nature in style. Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai is an absolute gem; peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly welcoming. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home with their warm smiles and thoughtful service. The traditional Thai-style villas are stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and serene surroundings. Every detail, from the decor to the cleanliness, was perfect. The hospitality here is truly exceptional; staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a wide variety of fresh options and attentive service. Customer service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. It’s clear that the staff genuinely care about guest experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back to this beautiful island retreat.

I would highly recommend this resort and island. It’s a traditional Thai style resort - every building has hand carved wooden panelling and is incredibly decorated. So much attention to detail. The pools are incredible - an infinity pool with views over the ocean. Sunsets are spectacular. We also visited in July, meant to be rainy season but we had so many brilliant sunny days. Very good value. The staff were also incredible - so helpful and attentive. Ellis who helped us check in and accompanied us on the speed boat was brilliant. Shared snacks - an all round legend. Only thing I would say is the additional services and activities were a bit pricey - much pricier than the same thing in town. E.g don’t get your laundry done by the resort. You can get 1kg of clothes dry cleaned for 90 baht in town. Hiring the side car in town is also half the price.

Absolutely loved our stay at Santhiya Koh Yao Yai! From the moment we checked in, everything was smooth and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. The traditional cultural performances were a beautiful touch that added a local charm to the stay. We especially appreciated the thoughtful gifts prepared for guests and the complimentary photo session during check-out—such lovely memories to bring home! This resort truly offers a relaxing and homey atmosphere, making it hard to leave. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind with genuine Thai hospitality. Can’t wait to come back!
