Our holiday at Hotel Fanar was absolutely wonderful and fulfilled all our wishes. There was nothing we missed – everything was perfectly organized and always with a smile. Staff: • The guys at the pool bar, especially Ravi and Adel, were always friendly, cheerful, and provided excellent service every day. • In the SPA, Edam took great care of us — his smile and sense of humor created the perfect relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed four amazing massages that we can highly recommend. • The night receptionist Khaled managed to make even the impossible possible – his professionalism was outstanding. Accommodation and facilities: Our room was perfectly cleaned and beautifully scented every day. The beaches are stunning, the pools are spotless, and the entire hotel is well-maintained and peaceful. Experiences: Special thanks also to the activity team for organizing a wonderful trip – we saw camels living freely in nature, flamingos, enjoyed a private beach barbecue on a deserted shore, and an exciting quad bike ride. Overall, we rate our holiday 10 out of 10. We truly recommend Hotel Fanar to anyone looking for relaxation, excellent service, and the beautiful atmosphere of Oman.

Our stay at Fanar Hotel and Residences was enjoyable overall. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming — especially Abdullah at the reception, who made us feel at home right from the start. The room was clean and comfortable, with good furniture, though it could use a bit of an update to match modern interior design and technology. There was ample parking, and the restaurant offered delicious food with a nice variety. The hotel’s proximity to the ocean views made the stay even more relaxing. We truly enjoyed our time there and would happily come back again.

I stayed at Al Fanar Hotel & Residences, Salalah in a Deluxe Ocean View Room (King Bed with Aqua Park access). Unfortunately, the stay was far below expectations. The “ocean view” turned out to be a partial pool and lagoon view. Guests are made to wear color-coded tags that determine what facilities or drinks they can access, an odd and discriminatory system. Even though I was ready to pay for extras, several areas refused service simply because of the tag color. Staff behavior varied, some were polite, but overall communication was confusing. My bathroom had leaks, the toilet space was tight, and towels felt unhygenic. There’s no in-house doctor or basic medical help, and the Wi-Fi is unsecured (VPNs blocked). The so-called “beach” is a lagoon, while the real beach is far and not well maintained. The only positives were the breakfast and the helpful reception staff who assisted to bring up a delivery when I needed medicine for my son. Otherwise, it was a disappointing experience and not worth the premium price — I expected far better hospitality and transparency.

Great place for a vacation. We were warmly welcomed by Wala. The rooms were very clean and we were provided by a cot as requested. Beautiful hotel, great staff. Kudos to the whole team. Since we are vegetarians, the options were given by the team. However as foodies, we would be a little more happier if the options could be more. Special thanks to Chef Vinod, Ajith, Rakesh, Hemant, Praveen, Prashant, Chef Chandra, Yogesh, Wala, Samir, Rizk, Louvely, Ahmed, Moses. All of them were very nice and hospitable. Highly recommended!

Definitely not 5 star accommodations or service. Uncomfortable beds. Only half the staff were somewhat helpful and none were like usual five star service. Not terrible but nowhere close to being worth the price. Stayed in the jacuzzi suite for the last day and it didn’t work properly. Waste of money. The hotel response below will say that I did not inform them but I did inform them and spent 2 hours of my one night in that room with up to 5 workers in and out of the room. Nothing was offered for the inconvenience. The filters of the jacuzzi were plugged with black filth. The fact that management claims I did not inform them shows how poor the communication is. I am reducing to one star due to the lie in their response. The water park is nice for families and the marina area is nice with some cafes and restaurants. Pools were average. Salalah and the country is beautiful I highly recommend coming but personally would look elsewhere for better accommodations and better value.
