A great family hotel with friendly staff and lots of activities to do nearby. Traveled with my wife and our 12 year-old twin boys, and we all loved our stay here.
We didn't stay around the hotel, as we're not "by the pool" kind of people and we're out around the island most days. It was great to come back to decent accommodation and good food everyday. For what we paid, and for the efforts the hotel staff go to, I really can't fault any of it.
We love Corfu and would happily come back to this hotel again and again.

The hotel is very pretty, well looked after, super clean. Staff work really hard. The views are majestic! A couple of 2-10 min walk beaches. Some good bars around.
The only down fall is the drinks from the all inclusive bar and restaurant. They’re all cordial watered down with tap water.
Which makes them taste odd.
Apart from that a wonderful place!

We stayed at the golden mare for a week all inclusive and although it may say it is a 4 star it doesn’t feel like one! We appreciated and loved the view from our room but if you struggle going up and down hills I wouldn’t advise you to stay there as our room was right at the top (probably the last room) and it was a struggle going up and down all the time. We were meant to get daily room service where they use fresh linen and change bins. However for the first 4 days of our stay we noticed that they just made up the bed with the same dirty linen and for the first couple of days they didn’t change our overflowing bathroom bin (as you cannot flush tissue), to the point we physically had to put our own bin bags in it. The restaurant food was very repetitive and the glasses\ cups were in a state where we were unable to enjoy a drink out of them as they stunk and had stains. This was also the same with most cutlery and some plates. Most tables were infested with ants which the staff (when asked to do so) just brushed off onto the side or floor. Staff are lovely however they don’t tend to listen much when you ask something about your room and we had to repeatedly come down to reception to ask the same task to be done. Pool bar cups are the same with the smell etc. there was most days a wrenching sewer smell all in the rooms and all in the lobby and kitchen area which made many guests feel sickly, although this may not be helped, they could’ve sprayed something to be able to have the hotel at a decent attraction. Although there are some bad things to this hotel, the room itself was lovely (although for us and many others struggled to go up especially with heavy suitcases). Room was spacious and had beautiful views of the ocean. Our shower had lots of space but it kept leaking so it flooded the bathroom.
If you like entertainment there is not much of it! Out of the whole week we must’ve seen only about 4 (all being singers). The place/area the hotel is based on, doesn’t have ,much around it to see unless you catch a bus (that apparently comes every 2 hours) or rent a quad (which is so fun defo recommend to get to other places of the island).
Some positives: there is a hotel van with lots of times that will take you and pick you up from the beach. Staff is nice and their is a cute small shop onsite.

I got back on Monday after a 5 day stay at this lovely resort.
The room was lovely, with room service daily-the cleaners were so patient as we were never ready when they came, telling us not to rush and to stop apologising.
I did struggle walking up the hills and stairs to our room as I have arthritis in my back, but other than that, I have no complaints.. I'm a fussy eater, so was a bit fussy with what I ate- breakfast was the best meal of the day IMO..
Big shout out to Kosta he went above and beyond to make sure we were okay at all times- such an amazing guy, friendly and always smiling..Thank you for making our stay enjoyable 👌🏾😘
Also the view from our room was beautiful 😍

Loved our stay at the Golden Mare! Views wonderful, all the staff are really friendly and helpful and work so hard to make your stay the best it can be! They all really go above and beyond and deserve huge praise.
Location is amazing, loved Barbati beach and not getting covered in sand (so converted to pebble now) snorkelling fun and easy to get a sunbed there.
The only things which could have been improved hotel wise are the sofa bed (not very comfortable for my 15 year old but bearable- our bed was gorgeous and I wanted to take it home with us;) the lack of clothes hangers to hang clothes (not enough for 3 people) and the lack of anywhere on the balcony to hang wet things other than the balcony glass which then obscured the view. Other than those little things we loved the hotel and would stay again. Going to miss all the lovely cats and kittens- please make sure you are kind and feed them some of your food when they come to your table. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for all your hard work looking after us and meeting our every need… you are very much appreciated!
